(xpost /r/TumblrInAction) Yes and no - words that are built out of previous words to form a coherent meaning are not exactly "made up", so much as restructured from previously existing terms. A word that's made up would have no real former connotation. For example, a lot of innuit words were made up on the spot by the person who realized they needed a word to describe something and didn't have one available. 2	Why the Bechdel test is useless Films are especially bad for this issue since they're remarkably short. 1.5 to 2 hours isn't a lot of time, all things considered. Compared to a novel, TV show or a video game, it's honestly only about a tenth of the space to work with or less in terms of how much can be devoted to useful character information.
