Male perpetrators of sexual violence are under-reported in comparison to female perpetrators of sexual violence. Thoughts? It is difficult to get at the ground truth. From the studies I have seen I would argue that a female perpetrator is more likely to report their perpetration than a male perpetrator. On the other hand, a male victim is less likely to report their victimisation than a female victim. Same thing happens for domestic violence. A possible reason for that is, that the femininity of a women is not challenged when they report beeing a victimor a perpetrator of intimate or sexual violence. | 2 | Discussing the Crisis of Men and Boys Richard Reeves X George at TheTinMenI found the discussion very interesting. It is clear that Richard Reeves as well as George have the best interest for men at heart and both are willing to engage with different viewpoints. The sliding scale of controversy of male issues (education, suicide/mental health, healthcare, domestic violence, sexual violence) is an interesting concept. Another interesting hypothesis is, that same gender environments tend to lower gender expression. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 31/10/24 08:30 AM

The linked research is pretty flawed because it only asked mothers. You experience all the mental load that you do, but hardly any of the work that others do. There is already a big bias with normal work, it seems reasonable to expect the bias to be even bigger with mental work. I would also argue that paid work is also a source of mental load work. You are basically left with a copper IUD. However they make periods worse. (Unless you use an improved version like Gynefix, but this one doesn't seem to be available in the US) So there is currently no effective birth control option that is reversible and has no or mild side effects available right now. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 01/04/21 10:10 AM |

It may be true that of the 300'000 Tutsi Survivors, 70% were female (There was no source), but the Tutsi population made up only a very small proportion of the population. You have to concider that there were more killed Tutsi than survivors. So if the victims were 55% male, that would result in a great difference in the surviving population. Of the surviving population, many were infected with HIV (They recruited HIV-positives men for the rapping). | /r/MensRights | 28/10/14 06:43 PM |

Are you people telling me I should worry about being raped by a woman as much as women worry about being raped by a man?I think the other way around would be much healthier. "Women should worry about being raped as much as men do now." Because men are as likely to be rape victims as women. EDIT: fixed Link | /r/MensRights | 16/06/14 11:07 AM
"Women Need To Be Educated About Sexual Consent, Right Now They Aren’t" Great article by Janet BloomfieldWomen are often raped and murdered Any evidence? Because I don't think it is true. It is more difficult to get away with homicide than with rape. A "good" rapist(someone who knows what s/he is doing) will try to prevent a police investigation. The easiest way to do that is to guilt the victim into not reporting. I'm too lazy to search the source for the following statement, but most rapes are comitted by someone who did it more than once. | /r/MensRights | 16/06/14 12:33 AM

Let our debate move forward.Women are not more likely to be victims of rape[1] or domestic violence[2]. Men are far more likely to be victims of homicide[3]. Furthermore, there are 30% more women than men who earn a bachelor's degree[4] for a master's degree it's even 50%[5] [1]http://www.genderratic.com/p/836/manufacturing-female-victimhood-and-marginalizing-vulnerable-men/ [2]http://www.csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm [3]http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/htus8008.pdf Table 1 [4]http://www.statista.com/statistics/185157/… | /r/MensRights | 15/06/14 08:20 AM
Let our debate move forward. That's because there isn't much of substance to begin with. Secondly, I don't think you came here to have your mind changed. If that is wrong, I will invest time in a longer reply | /r/MensRights | 15/06/14 07:45 AM
Let our debate move forward. Now, Claiming that men are objectified just the same is even worse. That is completely false. Yea, and I landed on the moon with apollo 21. Men do get molested, Men do get raped, Men do get objectified, but mainly it comes from other Men. When I look at my past, my mothers past, I know for sure, that there are very bad men out there who would do very bad things for selfish reasons. So, Onto Men's Rights. Do Men get the shaft in divorce proceedings? Many Times, yet each situation is different, ca… | /r/MensRights | 15/06/14 07:40 AM
How can a student prove consent to sexual activity under California's proposed "affirmative consent" law? The bill's co-author says: "Your guess is as good as mine."If you follow through with this law, yes. That is kinda the point I'm making. | /r/MensRights | 12/06/14 06:44 PM
How can a student prove consent to sexual activity under California's proposed "affirmative consent" law? The bill's co-author says: "Your guess is as good as mine."Well, the rapist can claim that s/he did not consent to the act. If a the rapist was "forced" by the victim to rape him/her. In other words: What if the rapist says s/he felt that the victim forced him/her to perform a sexual act? | /r/MensRights | 12/06/14 06:30 PM
How can a student prove consent to sexual activity under California's proposed "affirmative consent" law? The bill's co-author says: "Your guess is as good as mine."It seems the law is written in gender neutral terms. So the best way to react would be to revoke your consent to the act in question. What exactly happens if a rapist claims he or she did not consent? That is gona be an interesting headline... | /r/MensRights | 12/06/14 05:30 PM
