Jacked =/= roids. There are different levels of jacked and you can certainly be jacked without looking like Arnold.

I don't think you know much more than random yahoo articles have told you. As the previous guy said you seem to be arguing in bad faith / reveling in misinformation and you seem to have no intention of actually having the facts down before commenting. It's pathetic. -Rapist finds a passed out girl behind a dumpster Wrong for multiple reasons - They were dancing and making out a party before leaving the party together. - They were not behind a dumpster. This was actually what Brock's appeal was r…

Hey I'm not the person you're arguing with but if you look at the facts of the case objectively, there is no proof that Turner knew she passed out or even that she passed out while they were fooling around, rather than after. The prosecution suggested Brock ran away and that indicated he knew she was passed out, per the two witnesses. If you look at a few details on the witness statements though there are quite a few holes in their story as well, perhaps some embellishment that came with being c…

Can Netflix make a documentary about this shit already? No kidding. It's tough because there's pretty much a universal lynch mob mentality against this guy.

I think there was just a dumpster somewhat nearby. I couldn't tell you exactly. Goes to show what ridiculous shit prosecutors can get away with in the US.

Infections are usually 100% treatable with antibiotics, but not always. They can be serious and even deadly. There is a loss of sensitivity and in terms of sexual function or enjoyment every one is different as is the potential outcomes of the procedure itself so subjective. Again, there is no proof that sensitivity is lost that I've seen. But still, theoretically, you could have an uncircumcised man that would enjoy sex more as a circumcised man, but never realizes this and stays uncircumcised …

I am sorry to hear that. I sincerely hope you find a medical resolution to your problems. It sounds like regardless of whether we agree on whether circumcision in general is OK, there clearly needs to be more research on the issues and it should be less routine. I would say life changing issues on an unnecessary procedure are unacceptable.
/r/MensRights26/10/19 04:02 AM

Obviously there are people that this change has had a life-long impact on, but for most people it doesn't matter at all. Medical professionals seem to think there is a non-zero increased risk of infection by being uncircumcised. Circumcised men don't have to worry about hygiene issues (although those issues seem minor from what I understand). Circumcision may be a cultural preference as well cosmetically. There seems to be little to no evidence that it actually changes sensation in reality, sinc…

I saw someone who had been circumcised as an adult commenting not long ago, saying there was no change in feeling, and people were telling him he was wrong. Wrong about his own personal experience. So if people aren't even willing to listen to a unique personal experience of someone that has seen both perspectives then I'm not quite sure how to even discuss this. The logic you are using is unfair because it's impossible to disprove. I could say the same thing - "being circumcized actually gives …

????? Not sure this comment was necessary. I did not look at replies until a few minutes ago. Although honestly, it is hard to answer and is a difficult topic.

Why should I have to be uncircumcised just because you prefer it? Generally the answer to your questions is parents make a great many choices, many of them permanent, for children. Everything from eating habits, to education, to what sports they let their children play, as well as physical and cosmetic decisions. Circumcision, for most people, is among the most minor, unimportant of those decisions.
/r/MensRights26/10/19 03:21 AM

It seems a lot of people have had issues with their circumcisions, which sound terrible. I think at the very least, if people are going to do it, it needs to be done with much more care and precision so the person has enough skin left that they aren't ever uncomfortable. I think it's a tough topic because there are plenty of circumcized and uncircumcised guys that wouldn't have it any other way. For example, I hear all the backlash here, but I'm circumcised and wouldn't have it any other way, so…

When you are feeling your worst, and your life seems awful, and that it's not going to get any better, the irony is that your life will almost assuredly get better, because you are at the low point now. Think of the stock market. People tend to panic and freak out and "sell" after a big downturn... But really that's when they should be buying! I would echo not falling into the trap of blaming women for your problems. It might be cathartic, but catharsis has been proven to be detrimentally habit …

Listen, I am not disagreeing with you. The stuff you are saying is important, I agree with you generally is. However, putting him down won't encourage him to get out there and do it, it will just make him feel shittier. The concept of "tough love" is absolutely shit IRL, it's only used in the military out of necessity. We both have half of the formula - you are focusing on what he needs to do to attract women, I was focusing on what to do to engage with women. Both are obviously important to var…

You are assuming male and female attraction works the same and that is completely wrong. I literally did not say this at all. I literally said that women prefer successful attractive men. Also, women are more likely to be homemakers etc so the "marrying down" thing isn't shown in the data. Yeah... But somehow those 80% will find a woman. Do you know any men that aren't in peak physical condition and very successful? I'm guessing you do. And I'm guessing most of them do just fine romantically. Be…

I guarantee that of all those people you know, the woman in them would leave if their chosen celebrity crush suddenly became interested in them in most cases This is generally not how women act AT ALL. That would be like saying I'd leave my wife for Megan Fox. Not only that, but it is not realistic. I am not saying women don't like successful men. You are acting like you are some sort of genius for repeating that. Literally everyone knows women prefer successful attractive men. I am saying you a…

It absolutely sounds like he needs to eat better and hit the gym as that weight does sound unhealthy. But that doesn't mean you need to insult him. They don't have money and a great body, then get the confidence. It's the other way around. Yeah, this is why I was trying to boost his self esteem. How can he identify the problem if everyone is going to tell him EXACTLY what he wants to hear and not the truth? Focusing on the wrong things. A guy can be wealthy and in amazing shape but if he can't talk to women because he has a crippling lack of self confidence from being a virgin then it doesn't matter. Plus plenty of poor guys in bad shape do fine as long as have confidence. Also, we don't know what shape he's in now. That being said, advising he gets in shape is obviously a good thing, but isn't that really all you needed to do? You didn't stop with "giving advise" you decided to throw in there that…

You seem to be self aware enough to see how you were being a bully without me getting all preachy about it, so maybe just take another look at what you said and ask yourself if it's the kind of thing that motivates someone or just pushes them down further.

You're not showing tough love, trust me, you're just being a bully. I know because I used to be like you until I realized the negative effect the stuff I said actually had. If you were a drill sergeant, you should know better than to think berating someone on the internet is in any way equivalent to the regimented order of military life, where by no means are you forced to go it alone. Yeah man it will happen. It might not be now, heck, it might not even be soon, but that doesn't matter. There's no rush! It could be years from now. Don't let those years in which you're a virgin be miserable for no reason. Being a virgin doesn't prevent you from being an admirable person that men want to be and women want to be with. I believe the guy in "The Bachelor" or something recently was a virgin, and I think he was over 30. He had women literally fawning over him. I mean you're not goin…

I got you. I am a man and was a virgin until almost 30. I used to feel the exact same way as you. I was depressed, no confidence, had suicidal thoughts, angry. The most important thing is not being ashamed of being a virgin. I can tell you with 100% confidence that if you are a good person, it's women that are missing out. But don't let that get you down either. "my life is a tragedy because I have so much to give and I'm being ignored" and "women are fools for missing out" are easy traps to fal…

Yeah. Honestly it's been a lot of compounding ridiculousness. You start with a bad situation where both people are drunk, then she passes out while they are going at it, then you add witnesses to that. Then you add a confrontation that gets broken up by police, in which both parties are clearly rattled and put on the spot and forced to justify their actions. Then she doesn't have any memory, but is given the options of A. You cheated on your boyfriend, or B. You were taken advantage of / assault…

I was the person discussing the case originally. You want facts I got them. I read the court docs and original police docs (IDK if I could find them now). Turner says he made out and danced with Miller at the party, they left to go back to his place. She had multiple shots before meeting Turner. She also had an exclusive boyfriend of ~1 year at the time. She says she remembers nothing prior to when, according to Turner's story, they would have met. Turner says on the walk back they started makin…

The original post regarding Turner was mine. How did I describe the case incorrectly?
/r/MensRights27/09/19 06:15 PM

I agree. The verdict will not be overturned. It's worth discussing though so we can identify stuff like that for future trials, and at the very least stop spreading misinformation about this case in an attempt to ruin Turner's life further. Like I said, there's a lot of other stuff about the case too, not just that detail.

Well, technically I did already. It was the post OP was responding to, haha. I shouldn't have assumed you saw it. That was my bad, sorry. Still though. You can't go assuming that guilty people and those who defend them are evil. There are guilty people who are actually innocent in prison as we speak, and not a soul in the world will ever know. There are guilty people in prison where the case is much more gray than you realize. When you throw out platitudes it doesn't help anyone. It doesn't make…

Sigh. All evidence of people's innocence exists when they are found wrongfully guilty, it is just overlooked / isn't found etc. For example, Steven Avery was found wrongfully guilty of rape. The evidence existed that it was someone else, but prosecutor and jury ignored that evidence. Avery was exonerated via DNA. In regards to Brock Turner, I'll assume you have already heard his version of his events and are knowledgeable about the details of the case. There's a lot of issues with the case, but …

How will you ever find evidence to the contrary when you don't even give basic discussion the time of day? Also, I feel like there is evidence to the contrary in Turner's case. But that's my point- you shut people down with your vitriol before they can even bring forth such evidence. There is nothing gained at all by blindly hating to the point where you view anyone discussing a case and looking at the defendant's side of the story as evil. It's absolutely ridiculous actually. Honestly calling a…

You have quotation marks there but I can't seem to find where I said that or anything similar. Let me ask you this: if I said that I thought Brandon Dassey didn't rape Teresa Halbach would you be saying the same accusatory shit about how I'm evil for defending a rapist?
/r/MensRights27/09/19 02:08 PM
1

No, they see people like you, blindly accusing others of being evil, attempting to shut down discussion, etc, and say "no thanks". I wasn't trying to make Brock Turner the face of Men's Rights, just discussing some facts of the case that were overlooked precisely because Brock Turner makes a good posterboy for hating on men (if you don't know the facts of the case, which most people don't).

.... Uhhh... I never said it was? Obviously Amanda Knox wasn't a male thing either? You're missing the point I was making in that paragraph, which was about general discussion of convicted people?
/r/MensRights26/09/19 08:17 PM

I don't think so. I think people who spew vitriol and hatred, like you, are the reason for that. Anyone who ignores discussion in favor of hatred and ignorance will give any movement a bad name. That's you, not me.
/r/MensRights26/09/19 08:14 PM

Because defending people's possible innocence is not evil, even if they are found guilty by a jury.

You understand how silly what you're saying is, right? Like everyone knows which are actually guilty and which are actually innocent? It's so obvious! Since you can tell, maybe you can save everyone who is speculating about evidence, testing DNA, and looking at case notes the trouble by pointing out which convicted people are actually innocent? That way we don't have to look like rape / murder / assault apolgists by having the audacity to discuss these crimes.
/r/MensRights25/09/19 08:47 PM
2

Yeah. Cases like this are always hard. The suspect is either innocent or the scum of the earth, and there's not much middle ground. I guess it serves as a lesson to the rest of us to avoid compromising situations. They can be flipped against you. That's what a prosecutor is good at. That's what the media's good at. Anyways, thank you for the discussion. Sorry if I sounded unreasonable or anything at any time.

I personally have a lot of empathy for everyone involved. I empathize with Miller - although I am fortunate enough to not have experienced being sexually assaulted, I have certainly had stuff happen to me when I was black out drunk, where I felt wronged, and embarrassed, angry, and didn't know how to put the pieces together. Honestly I wouldn't have had the guts to come forward like she did I don't think. I empathize with the Swedes. Trying to do the right thing is difficult, and can get you int…

Well, yeah. I'm guessing literally everything you have read about the guy paints him to be the scum of the earth. I felt the same way at one point. Every article about the case is bombastic and designed to make him look as bad as possible, and to draw out a reaction. People constantly farm points online talking about how evil he is and spreading misinformation. Did you google the court documents or just more articles? He said he was not a big partier. I believe he smoked pot with his highschool buddy in his room. They had a photo of that so they could say "OH MY GOSH. He's smoking REEFER. He must be a BIG PARTIER, which means he's an abusive frat boy and liar!" Another twisting of the truth in this case in order to create a biased view of Turner.

I do understand where you're coming from. I like to think of myself as a forgiving person, but rapists are one group of people I don't think I feel a shred of mercy in my heart for. That being said, you need to learn to be comfortable with people taking opposing views and discussing such cases. I think Steven Avery likely raped and murdered Teresa Halbech. It's possible that is correct, but there is zero proof of that. They took things Turner said while he was cooperating with police, picked and chose what they wanted out of context, then filed a motion that nothing else Turner said could be used in court, silencing him. You can read the court docs if you don't believe me (google Brock Turner court docs, first link). Even the police reports are messed up, and were used in court. I feel like you are being rude. I honestly wanted to discuss the case, and you are clearly referencing my post. The first thing I said is that Miller, the victim, has my respect and I admire her for coming forward, and I do not think she is being untruthful at all, in that she doesn't remember what happened. That seems to be the picture that's been painted, I just think there's a lot missing from the picture and it's not an accurate portrayal of the subject. Everyone thinks guilty people are guilty, until they don't, especially when media frenzy and false information is rampant. The reality is, Turner cooperated with police immediately, gave his full recollection of events, which was almost exactly the same as what the Swedes described. The only difference was Turner said he was not reacting to the …

I'll go backwards here a bit: How is ANYONE trying to defend this rapist? How does someone try to defend anyone? How do people try to defend Steven Avery, or the Central Park Five, or Amanda Knox, or the many so called rapists/murderers the Innocence Project has freed? It's called discussing a case. People like you would rather be a self-righteous PoS than discuss a case, even though lack of discussion and clarity obfuscates both victims and perpetrators over the long term. I absolutely agree that this guy has been a scumbag at many times during his life... But so have many people who are falsely accused. It makes the accuser that much more believable. It's why accusers choose those people, sometimes. It's similar to how real rape victims are treated as less believable if they are more sexually promiscuous, and possibly how some attackers might exploit that to avoid repercussions. Objectivity is important on both sides. That being said, a person's history is import…

I said this was a mistake when Hillary did it before she lost the election. Look at Obama. First black president. However, he never really ran on being black, where Hillary kept reminding everyone about her gender and implying all women needed to vote for her. Hillary wanted to be Obama, instead of just herself. Which is a shame, because she is actually extremely intelligent and experienced, and was generally moderate, but instead tried to base her campaign off her charisma (she has none) and le…
