All right ya bastard, I looked over both /r/feminism and /r/twoxchromosomes, and guess what? I didn't see shit.

Sometimes violence is necessary. The argument that it's harmful to babies wouldn't sway someone like me, because pain others have to deal with doesn't move me all that much. The fact that it is damaging the function of a structure is what bothers me. Pain is temporary but something destroyed is not usually easily undone. He does make arguments against MGM in many occasions, but it's not his main focus, because it isn't destroying lives like what we see with some of the other issues.

It's the difference between handing an armed man your gun who is trying to enter your house or try to defend yourself even though you might die. The man will rape your daughters, and pillage you if you surrender.

Look, this isn't a zero-sum situation. It's not "I surrender or I die," it's "I surrender or I maybe die." Don't forget the fact that invading forces generally do not treat the people they are invading very well. This is the one time where it is pretty much always justifiable to go to war and fight back to protect your homes, family, and lives, but you'd rather be a coward and surrender. God I hate being like this. It's almost Christmas, and I'm trying to be a good guy, but what you are suggesti…

I don't know know who really wins with Trump. Probably someone. We're getting into somewhat tinfoil hat territory though. I wouldn't bet that Paul vs Sanders would happen in a million years, but screw it. Never know.

Rand Paul is the kind of guy who does have some silly ideas about things, like the Civil Rights amendment a few years ago, but he does have some great ideas, and seems fairly honest compared to the bulk of politicians we have now. Which is rare enough as it is. Really, Rand Paul or Bernie Sanders would be my pick. I would be overjoyed to see them both win their primaries, just because they would probably have some super intellectual debates compared to what we usually get.

Wow, that link is SJWing it up. In other words, fairness also demands remedies to redress historic injustices that have prevented or diminished access in the first place Holy shit no. No no no no no. A few of my ancestors may have been bigots, some KKK members, and possibly if you go back far enough, slave owners, but that does not mean I owe blacks anything. The idea that whites owe blacks and other minorities, or that men owe women is absolutely fucking ridiculous. The link defines "equality" …

Nothing is black and white, but women literally have rights men don't. You understand what I'm saying yeah? That means they have privilege, regardless of their intentions and situation. Now, unlike a feminist, I don't think privilege necessarily means shit if you don't have the power to exercise it, and I don't think we should go on witch-hunts for people with "privilege." At the end of the day, I'm not saying this to imply there are no women worse off then men. I am just stating a fact. Women h…

I don't...that was a buzzfeed article. I'm not going to say it hasn't happened though. Most of the problems you mentioned about the workforce is actually something everyone has to deal with, believe it or not. Obviously you've learned that actually being more knowledgeable in a subject is a way to make people realize differently. As for men who get turned off because of something like that, they weren't your time. Not going to say that's all fine and dandy, it clearly sucks, but those aren't tha…

But here's the thing, men experience things similar to cat-calls all the time. I'm not saying it isn't rude, but when a bunch of white upper-class women start focusing on things like that, to talk about the "patriarchy." We focus on feminists because they are our enemies. They want to stop us from getting anything they do. They label us as a hate group in the UK when we put posters about how false rape accusations hurt men. Women like Marilyn French used to talk about how nearly every man has co…

The fitrep scores aren't that hard, anyone can do it. It's not particularly challenging for a woman to meet fitness standards. They can probably handle most physical jobs except maybe artillery, because of how heavy the loads they carry are. I knew of a teacher at my high school who had served in the Persian Gulf and had crazy PTSD. I'm not sure how she would have gotten that without being in combat. It may not happen all the time, but it can happen. Pretty much the one thing women can't really …

It had to be. Men have evolved for millions of years to be good at defending their homes, their children, and their women. If asked to protect their families from an invader, most men wouldn't hesitate to do so. Woman have evolved to want and desire comfort, similar to how feminists today desire that men make them more comfortable at their own expense, despite their cries of "equality!" Woman in most cultures, everywhere in the world, supported and loved their men I think, and while there was un…

I can't agree with that. They have in the past secured too much political power to affect law-making to be just a bunch of failing broads. I would say that lately, feminism has begun to fall. Between gamergate, SJWs, and more, feminism simply looks too stupid to more and more outsiders now. This will continue as groups like the MRAs develop more in their own right and feminists are exposed for what they are. The scariest thing to me, is that after the feminists are finally seen as a hate group, …

You say fighting back as though many of those killed or injured in war actually had a chance. Do you think that the men storming Normandy on D-Day actually had a chance to fight back when they were killed by mortars or by the hail of bullets? The opportunity to fight back is an act of desperation to save one's own life, and is not fundamentally different on a battlefield than it is in the domestic environment. Only difference is that many of these men in history lived it almost every day. The wo…

There's a reason for this. Facebook is about posting pictures and statuses and tumblr is about posting little things too, as well as twitter. They aren't necessarily for starting mature conversation but about making your feelings known to the world, which is perfect for a bunch of spoiled kids and adults wanting to get everyone's attention for themselves. It's the kind of places you would expect to attract attention-whores and people playing the vicim card.

I'm mostly right with you. His grasp of gender roles and the role of men is impressive, and I'm actually a big fan of his site. I got frustrated at the marriage bit though, and how the blame and responsibility is put on men that avoid them. We live in a society that increasingly penalizes such men. I also disagree with the implication he has that feminism and women's rights are one and the same.

Nursing school pays off your loans if you're male. Getting into a good school for a bachelor's will probably be impossible, but becoming an LPN and then doing an LPN -> BSN (RN) program and eventually MSN can have you making $70,000+ before you're 25 (starting at 18), and you can get 90-100% of your loans paid off.

It's just potential and kinetic energy to me, socially speaking. An ideology is a potential act, but it doesn't become an action until it is called upon. I really can't think of a better way to describe this, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

So, had Erwin Rommel lived on and fought for his country, should we have judged him as harshly as we did the SS officers? He was lauded and praised by both allies and enemies alike. Winston Churchill spoke very highly of him. But the fact remains, that Erwin Rommel fought for the Nazi government. However, most rightfully look at him differently, because his was not the mindset of a standard Nazi soldier. He wore the armband, but acted nobly to all. Why should we judge people based on their ideol…

http://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/2x9r9t/im_a_feminist_who_wants_to_bring_greater_services/coya57d I made a relevant series of comments on this, and the inflammatory responses I got should let you see how some people feel about this issue. The thing that is required is compromise, and good compromise tends to leave at least one party a little dissatisfied. The guy I responded to was nothing like that. Everywhere else I saw as you describe. Challenging someone is something that is fine, I'm not making up ethics here. I'm targetting the idea of a volatile response and being outwardly rude. You can challenge someone but you should never be rude without a good reason. I would expect that even if a kkk member shows up, you would want people to take the moral high ground and not act hateful or intolerant, when that brings you closer to their level. Good…

Yeah, I definitely agree that the Germans acting like they weren't Nazis are generally full of shit. An Austrian friend of mine said that while many of the Germans did not know the severity of the Holocaust, it's like they didn't understand the general purpose of carting away millions of people. It's creepy and eerie that a country with democratic principles could become such a monster. My respect to your family, it must have been hard.

You are aware that those involved with the Holocaust were not the same as every citizen of Germany, who were nearly all aligned with the Nazi party at this time yes? John Rabe wasn't a military officer, and was an otherwise normal businessman. He used his Nazi status to attempt to set up a safe zone for the Chinese, saving untold number of lives. This isn't comparing feminists to say, Adolf Hitler or Josef Mengele. The point, as you say you understand, is to demonstrate that even the worst of id…

Feminism is not as severe as nazism, and I wasn't referring to genocide in the case of the nazis. What I'm talking about is the fact that the ideologies of one person may seem completely different when they act on an individual level. A Nazi in Nanjing showing humanitarianism is not so different from a feminist valuing the safety of men, even if one is vastly more severe and virtually incomparable to the other. The point I'm making is that attacking an individual for the viewpoint of an entire g…

There is a great video where Karen Straughan (/u/girlwriteswhat) attends a debate with two other feminists, the moderator of which was also a self-proclaimed feminist. It was very one sided, but one woman in particular disagreed with the other feminists about as much as with Karen. What the other feminist identified with was something this person in particular did not identify with at all. The majority of feminism is stupid and toxic, but there are those who consider themselves feminists that do…

That's exactly right, you shouldn't assume anything. Reposting this again: I compared this discussion later to a Nazi in the city of Nanjing who protected thousands of Chinese against the Japanese invaders. Nanjing lost 350,000 out of 650,000 people to the Japanese, and many more would have died if the Nazi in question had not helped. I think we'd both agree that the Nazis did horrible things, but not all the Nazis were bad people supporting bad things. Same with feminism. I agree that feminism …

"Feminism" is a concept not a person. Alright, so we are attacking concepts, not people. No, they are. Besides which I tend to assume the label is a good reflection of their views. if it is not then why would they use that label? Oh, so we are actually attacking people that represent concepts to us. People can't be concepts, so we are attacking people. The point of reasonable discourse is to not target the person we are discussing with but to dismiss their claims. I think it would make us look l…

"Feminism" is a concept not a person. "Yes it is, and I agree that it is a concept that should be attacked" I have no doubts that feminism is wrong. I agree with much that people are saying to me. Where I am disagreeing with is how one should treat a feminist who is trying to help. I don't care what someone's creed or ideology is. We are not what we say, or even what we believe. We are what we do. It is what we do that reflects out beliefs and our actions, or at least the ones we will act on. A …

Yes it is, and I agree that it is a concept that should be attacked, however: this person literally represents the evil we are fighting against. You are making this person represent the concept, regardless of his/her actual views. Don't draw a line in the sand towards people who seem willing to help. Can't work together on some issues and fight tooth and nail over others like civilized folk? And when you act this volatile, how do you think that would make the MRA look to someone who is unaware o…

Calm down, we don't know everything about this person. Asking for help from MRAs says a lot about her character already. You want to lead a crusade against the "evul femenests," then be my guest, but not all feminists are the same, and some are not even aware of some the negative issues that feminism has brought around. Not an MRA, although I do sympathize with what /u/DavidByron2 is saying. However, we aren't labels, and you have come here to ask for legitimate ideas and want to work together to make the world a better place. Hats off to you! It's not who we say we are, but what we do, that defines us. If all feminists and MRAs were like you, we would need neither feminists nor the MRA, but could work together, addressing each other with respect and decency.
