9	False accusation causing lasting damage from family member A similar thing happened to my family (cousin accused me and my dad thankfully nothing came of it) my recommendation (not advice) is if you feel like they COULD accuse you, then record it. 2	Is this sexual abuse As long as you can get away, it will be like your sore muscles finally getting some rest. It will hurt a little at first, but then it will slowly feel better, but my advice, cut ties with them, go minimal contact with dad (he hasn't helped you, I'm also assuming you have proof of the abuse) and go no contact (maybe even a restraining order) with mom. 1	Is this sexual abuse This whole thing is similar with my family (just reverse the roles). My father is very psychologically and emotionally abusive, and when my parents adopted my cousins, they were abandoned, he told me and my brother that if we tried anything to the children, he would KILL US, when I was a young teen.
