I was a musician, and musicians would say things like "sportsball" because in reality they sucked at sports as a kid and felt toxic/bitter towards the concept as a whole. Yes watching is different than playing, but when 99% of people grew out of playing sports and continued watching like most normal people do, they (musicians) continued with the "sportsball" comments.
