I didn't say anything about partners being children. I was trying to build up the idea of context and proper amounts of disclosure. I think it's funny that you didn't have anything to say about how much hurt was being expressed in ops post. Guys are here trying to figure out how to be more successful in general and it's great that you're a snowflake and a unicorn and in a solid marriage. Most people here aren't happy with their lot by a long shot. So saying things like all women are like that or…

If you roll with good people, 30 is nothing to start. If you're humble and tap you can learn a lot and do it for life. Jujitsu is rare. If you aren't rolling with over zealous youngsters that jerk on you it's something like smooth slow motion ballet. It's hard to describe because it happens fast but it's not violent or hard on you like other martial arts. I've studied karate, muay tai, Kung Fu. Jujitsu starts on the ground and works up from there and there is an art and science to it that makes …

It's not about being something you're not. Would you tell children your deepest fears about life? Would you tell a potential employer in a job interview the worst shit about you? It's about context and clearly understanding your role. I only tell myself certain things. At some point whether you knew it or not you became the gods of our society. You don't break frame whatever the context and that's not inauthentic. It's knowing your role.

Don't know why women confide to their mate's friends. Not sure if they know you're going to tell and want that or too dumb to know you're going to tell your friend no matter what you say. Had my best friend's girl tell me she fucked a dude when she was out of state and that he was so big it wouldn't even fit in a magnum, so no condom. Wound up marrying her and having a kid. Last I heard he was pretty miserable.

No thanks. Already did that one. Took my dog and the ice trays.

Let me approach it from another angle. How do you feel with nervous eyes? Can you remember how you felt with confident eyes? My point with the ear plugs is my environment didn't get quiet all of a sudden. My neighbors didn't become more considerate. I changed the way I felt and my physiology responded in kind. I highly recommend meditating, try it out for a time. There's a great study, eight weeks to a better brain. I have a ton of resources I've used from positive psychology, self-hypnosis, tas…

So, hear me out. I had a thing about sleeping with ear plugs. I had a bunch of unsettling things happen in life. Lost a job. Multiple moves between states. Wound up living in an apartment complex and found I couldn't sleep without earplugs. It bothered me and I doubt that's good to have something in your ears for 8 hours. I wound up doing a lot of reading on sleep and sleep hygiene. I came across something that talked about the evolutionary biology of sleep and the need to feel safe. It's obviou…

I'm new here. Have read a lot on the sidebar but is that a you thing or in general is it a goal not to jerk it?

Got this from Jerry Seinfeld and it's helped me transform my life. Quit drinking and smoking. Both 20 year habits. Started meditating and working out. Anyway, I hope it helps. ---- He told me to get a big wall calendar that has a whole year on one page and hang it on a prominent wall. The next step was to get a big red magic marker. He said for each day that I do my task of writing, I get to put a big red X over that day. "After a few days you'll have a chain. Just keep at it and the chain will …

I do lose my cool more than I'd like. Working on it but, it doesn't seem to matter how relaxed I am when certain things happen I get mad fast. Need to mediate or something. Any suggestions?

Learning about cognitive dissonance changed my life, being a big part of this sub is self-improvement, realizing you are the the bad guy is really useful sometimes. If you're interested in being coherent and having desired outcomes. Also, I'm drunk and can't sleep.

Agreed. Nothing abusive about saying cool, next though.

These things sound like solid advice outside of intimate relationships. I see myself breaking frame at work, fuck, in the grocery store, casinos. Not paying attention, fuck you I was walking here. Trying to punk me on lunch break for taking a break? Really could use advice on that one

I'm new here but, feel that more than a splinter, call it a half dose of red pill happened long ago. I'm sorry, right in the feels. I've been the guy doing coke with "your" girlfriend at whatever time and she definitely sucked my dick, danced for me or let me rail her. Tnstafl. Or all of the above. Next her and be happy. Has nothing to do with you beyond your tolerating it. Good luck

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
