4	Receiving compliments with grace So true—it's easiest not to fight them. I don't like to talk about myself too much, so I've learned to accept compliments with a very simple, but genuine "thank you very much," before pivoting the conversation. For instance, if a colleague dropped by about the award, I'd say thanks, then something like, "so tell me about what you've been working on."
