This seems to be very Hollywood action star-esque, which translates to just looking weirdly quiet in reality. If mysterious is your thing, more power to you, but in this age of facial coverings and internet-driven interaction, showing a little more than a pulse isn’t a bad idea. Having restraint in conversation is great but if you have something to say, might as well roll with it. If people are put off by it, that’s life. I can recall a multitude of conversations where a solid connection was for…

Definitely sounds like anhedonia or just apathy, both markers of mental health strife... talk to a therapist and be easy on yourself, just about everyone grapples with the struggles of life. I applaud you for being self-aware and trying to get out of a rut. Too many guys think there is something masculine or beneficial to being apathetic or not caring about anything but that’s just not the case. The days are long but the years are short and it’s easy to fall into a lull where everything loses it…

I agree. You’re right in saying these magical 10’s or women in general probably don’t give a shit because it’s not beneficial to them. OP is correct in suggesting that cleanliness is a must but the rationale is a bit off-kilter in that attracting women is a motive. I will disagree when it comes to too neat being a turn-off. It’s been my experience that a clean home displays a level of pride and shows a prospective plate that I do not need her, or anyone, to do things for me. Now, I don’t break o…

This is a given. I’d recently fallen off the wagon of RP with an LTR and I’m not an expert when it comes to putting theory into practice, so take this with some salt. I had a bad childhood and enlisted in the military, serving in combat and eventually going to a new city to start my life over. The cleanliness of my house has always been a barometer for how I’m doing. When I’m overloaded or not prioritizing correctly, things pile up and my headspace isn’t where it should be. It’s not about girls …

If you’re going to roll the dice and put your time and effort into an LTR, she needs to place you above her friends. Misery loves company, birds of a feather, etc. Women are not biologically wired to go out and take down a woolly mammoth with their homies, they’re competing for who brings home the meat and who has the cave. A reasonable woman who has security and her needs met theoretically should drift away from her friends once the bullshit starts, but if it were that simple we wouldn’t have t…

What the shit is this? Boot camp is an assembly line. Your biggest worries are having diarrhea in a stall without a door or chafing your gooch during BWT. Be proud of the steps you’ve taken but this isn’t BUDS, or the Korengal, or Range 400, or even a Thursday night at the bricks. The pain doesn’t stop, dude. You can be shit-hot with a belly full of pork rib and a lip full of Grizzly, but it’s gonna rain in the field and you’re gonna get wet.

Theoretically you don’t need to forgive anyone. However, I was in a similar boat as you. I had a father who was an alcoholic and an abuser. It took me a long time to realize that the pain he inflicted on me was simply the pain he had experienced. He didn’t have the modern resources or mental health services to deal with it. I’m not making excuses for his behavior but I let it go in order to grow as a man and be what he couldn’t be. That said, we don’t speak. He will likely never admit responsibi…

The military is a right of passage if done correctly. Even without a war going on, you learn about discipline, camaraderie, and embracing the elements. I was fortunate to have served in combat after having a bad childhood. Although both taught me lessons, one broke me down and the other built me up. That said, not everyone wants to go the military route. Challenging yourself with goals and seeing them through is a critical element of personal growth. This can be academically, professionally, or …
