Actually, government cannot and will not say no to a protest permit under normal circumstances. Last year for the annual climate change protest against the government my State Government actually worked with the protestors to ensure appropriate roads were blocked off and there was enough police presence to deter climate change deniers from getting rowdy. It was a great example of something im not sure you guys in the good ol’ USA will ever be able to experience. The difference here as opposed to…

Yeah we are actually if it means we can get out of this as soon as possible. That and the fact that there’s been very few times where these powers have been used to negative effect, nowhere near enough for it to be worth worrying about. This is Australia you idiot, we don’t care about your fucked up American politics here. 99% of people in Victoria are willing to do whatever it takes to keep cases down to get the hell out of this lockdown, and that means stronger laws and enforcement to stop the 1% from ruining it for everyone like last time. Yes, we’ve been through this twice now in Victoria.

This is ridiculous. I live just outside Melbourne where this happened and our state has been the worst hit in Australia. What we really want and need is for people to keep a level head and not go around organising protests like this because the last time restrictions went down we had a massive jump in cases that led to this second lockdown. Maybe think about a situation like that before commenting next time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
