Exs new dudeHey man - going through something similar. She started dating someone less than 3 months after we separated (we were together for 19 years) and it hurts to see her moving her on in such a care free way. I have a lot of anger about this and it brings the grief back to the surface. Working out has helped to get some of the anger out. It’s giving me control of my body and changing it in a positive way especially when I feel like I have no control over anything else. Try to get yourself some self-co… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/26 03:09 PM
If you have children, do you wish your Ex a “Happy Mother’s Day “ ?First year separated and no, I’m not wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day for ruining my life, messing up my son’s life, and screwing someone in the home we still own together. If she wants an affirmation for being a great mom (she’s not) she can get it from her new boyfriend. I did take my son to buy a nice plant and had to strong arm him into drawing her a nice card so she’d at least have something from him today. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/26 06:55 PM

separated but not divorced yetMine started out that way but then veered quickly into “well I only want what I’m entitled to”. You need to get an attorney to protect yourself and you need to fully understand that she is no longer your friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/04/26 12:06 AM
Sunday night dropHey - thank you for sharing this. It hits home for me. I have my son 50/50 but the Sunday evening drop offs hit so hard. The worst is the silence and emptiness from the backseat on the way back to my place and putting away toys, books, and half eaten snacks until next week and the cycle continues. I have found that going directly to the gym after drop off really helps my mood and helps me start the week with a more positive outlook. My dog has been a huge help with companionship and connecting w… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/26 12:22 PM
Best next steps?Yeah, I’ve heard that before. Then it becomes “well I’m entitled to that” while simultaneously trying to screw you over. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/26 07:53 PM
The quietIt’s really hard. I feel the same way. We do weekly custody exchanges and I’m a mess after dropping him off. The empty house, the toys still everywhere, and mourning the loss of what was. I’d like to say it gets easier but it hasn’t for me. I’m trying to put the sadness into the gym and I hope some day that I’ll be able to move past this feeling of loss every two weeks. I really put myself into being a father and the transitions from single parent to non-parent is so hard. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/02/26 12:46 PM
