I would say that children are an after thought From well before the beginning of human existance up until about 60 years ago, when you started having sex, children were going to happen. That's why yeah, you planned for supporting a family, and a father wouldn't let a worthless bum marry his daughter if he loved her and could avoid it. In the professional aspect of prostitution, women demand money in exchange for sex since they won't get commitment for it. And children still happen and suffer for…

I believe historically marriage, along with dowries, served a legitimate purposes, set up by fathers who wanted to make sure their daughter (who they loved) were cared for. There are other methods for all that now.

I think you could say if there was a difference it would be marriage is the exchange of caring for children for sex which benefits society and the man vs. prostitution is the exchange of money for sex, which only benefits the man, and not in the same way caring for children does.

You have to find some way to get men to support their kids. And men actually staying long enough to get to their kids and love them actually improves society: https://www.fatherly.com/health-science/are-fathers-less-likely-to-commit-crimes-biological/

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
