Has this entitlement always existed or is it a recent phenomenon?

You should report her to the dean. That shit is unacceptable in academics.

You definitely can contest it. Follow the chain of command. Go to the department head and you can request that your paper be graded by another professor if you feel you're being unjustly graded. Granted this might piss of your current professor but really this is a good reason why they shouldn't be a professor.

I don't think it's just a saying. I've definitely encountered this attitude more than once.

It's more that men are encouraged to "man up" and not express their feelings. They are often labeled weak for seeking help.

Seriously. What an ignorant twat. You'd think someone who's so vocal with their political beliefs would at least understand the political process. Fucking dumb ass celebrities need to shut the fuck up about politics.

I'm trying to figure out how she was trying to use the word ignorant in this context. It makes no sense.

What the beep did you just beeping say about me, you little beep? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the beep out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my beeping words. You thin…

The rest of the group is passively allowing these feminists to speak for them without objection. I don't think anybody is "allowing" them to speak for them. They just don't have the time or energy to around the internet correcting them everytime they misrepresent their stance. There is no breakaway group of non-privilege-believing feminists Yes, there are. They're just not as vocal as their counterparts (at least not on the internet). As always with feminism, the hate-filled radicals lead the wa…

Again. That's only some feminists saying that. You can't categorize an entire group based on what some say.

So there you go. According to some feminists, no amount of money is able to outweigh the awesome power of "male privilege"! Apparently it's like Mjölnir: a fearsome weapon that, for those men who wield it, is able to destroy all obstacles they face. FTFY

Yeah I phrased that poorly. All I'm saying is men shouldn't be discouraged to go into nursing just as women shouldn't be discourages from going in to construction. They're both intellectually capable of don't the job but perhaps not physically (women in certain construction jobs). We shouldn't deny either of them access to those jobs.

Men and women are inherently different biologically in many ways. Yes. For instance, men generally prefer working with numbers whereas women prefer social interaction. Key word here being generally. We shouldn't assume all women are going to be one way and all men are going to be another. That isn't a bias, it's human nature, so you can't change it. Again. You're putting too much stock in a trend within a gender. Humans are incredibly complicated beings and you shouldn't reduce either gender to …

So you admit women get a leg up sometimes and men get a leg up sometimes.

Lets flip this. Men do better negotiating prices and salaries. Maybe they just are better negotiators or have more applicable experience (in their fields). I agree. What's your point?

Within systems of society. For example - legal, educational, political, and cultural. There's all sorts of sexism towards both genders wrapped up in these systems. Each gender benefits and suffers in specific ways from sexism built into these institutions. And the system then tries to balance itself out by increasing the benefits of one gender and thus hurting the other gender. So it's constantly trying to "correct" it's actually making it much worse. If we root out these original biases, and gi…

No they're not. That's my point. Both have disadvantages within society and we should work to eliminate those disadvantages for all genders. In some areas women have a less equal playing field and in others men have a less equal playing field. But we shouldn't confine reform to one gender.
/r/PussyPassDenied18/10/16 03:37 AM

Women shouldn't have disadvantages and men shouldn't have disadvantages. then you want them to be identical. i don't mean treated identical, i mean identical. looks, thoughts, tendencies, psychologically, biologically. How did you get that from my statement? You're wildly off base. I mean they should shouldn't have institutional disadvantages. Neither gender should. I said absolutely nothing about biology. You just assumed that's what I meant and then put words in my mouth.

You're completely misinterpreting what I'm saying.
/r/PussyPassDenied18/10/16 12:28 AM

You're implying quite a lot from my statement. I don't necessarily disagree with much of what you said. You're quite defensive. Women shouldn't have disadvantages and men shouldn't have disadvantages. That's all I'm saying. I'm not downplaying the negatives of either gender.

Maybe they just do better in school or are better at applying to college than men?
/r/PussyPassDenied18/10/16 12:23 AM

Biologically? Absolutely. Intellectually? That's debatable. There are certainly genetic components to it but that doesn't mean one gender should be treated any differently than another.
/r/PussyPassDenied18/10/16 12:20 AM
-12

So that's it? Because more women go to college than men, they have a leg up?
/r/PussyPassDenied18/10/16 12:10 AM

And men have advantages over women in several areas. It's not a competition. It's about closing that gap that any one gender have advantages over another.

I'm no SJW but do you really think men and women are on a perfectly level playing field?
/r/PussyPassDenied17/10/16 11:36 PM

Well arguably all people have rights, they are inherent. Even oppressed people have rights it's just other people restricting or impeding their rights. edit: I wasn't even taking about men and women specifically. Just that rights are unalienable like it says, ya know, in the declaration of independence. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_and_positive_rights?wprov=sfla1
