7	Loss for society, win for men? Men are saying NOPE to the institution of marriage at historic rates. I wouldn’t say lower marriage rates are necessarily a loss for society, the notion that people must get married is flawed in and of itself. Most fathers and mothers are supportive and nurturing, and in many cases of child abuse the perpetrators aren’t even the parents to begin with. Most children will grow up and never be victims to abuse, and fears about predatory men are blown out of proportion by the media. It’s the reason most mothers win custody of children regardless of how well equipped the father is to raise them, and it’s not right.
