If you're a people pleaser, there is some chance it stems from childhood, family upbringing. Perhaps a therapist that specializes in Internal Family Systems. Doesn't mean this is the reason, but there is a saying regarding overcoming childhood family issues - "You become one of your parents and marry the other". Please also know that if this is relevant, it will likely be difficult, but absolutely worth the effort and freedom.
