"but the only thing people really talk about is the speculative investment." So much this. My friend who doesn't even understand what my job is as an investment analyst wants to buy bitcoin because it keeps going up. She is seriously stupid and just wants in on easy cash. If that isn't the signs of a bubble - when people with no interest in investing are piling in because their neighbours and mates are making a killing - then I don't know what is...

No one can trade speculative shit like this and make cash. That's not how investing works. You just get lucky, confident idiots that convince their friends to pile in because whatever signal will be the time to get out. People have made lots of money in bitcoin not through clever trading strategies, but because it is damned hard to lose money, whatever your strategy, when an asset has increased at the rate bitcoin has... Please learn about long-term investing in stock markets and avoid faddy inv…

lol that makes no sense unless you are making a joke about how you cannot apply an arbitrary rule to these things, in which case totally!

It is a sad place. They all need help but the longer they spend there the less likely they are to get it because it reinforces this idea they are worthless.

I honestly find it better to just barrage them with haaahahaha's and ask them to keep the comedy coming. Tell them you've never met someone so delusional and it is the funniest thing you've ever seen. Then, link them to this website. I actually wouldn't do this because I'm trying to cut out bullshit from my life and see no point in extending this, but I still get the urge to mess with people :D

Shocking isn't it? Maddening in fact, that women will cry foul without even considering the male may be drunk too... I mean Jesus Christ we aren't all predators but we are sure made to feel like them. The real joke is this rhetoric won't stop any assholes from taking advantage of drunk girls because they already have deep set issues that some internet hate won't change. But it will make every decent man feel like shit and feel paranoid about women. It also primes women to suspect men are rapists…

What does this say about you as a person that you are presuming the guy isn't drunk but is predatory? He may be drunk but still remembers it hazily...

This. I don't drink. But i go on a date and she does. How many drinks before this is suddenly rape? Surely I, as a sober and responsible person, can make that call. If she is interested and seems with it, why is that not OK if she has had two glasses of wine? Honestly the idea that women have it so bad these days when men fear sex is absolutely ridiculous.

Too true - little wins are huge. Life is about momentum more than many people ever realise. The swtich from "how can I avoid screwing this up," to "I can learn from this even, especially, if I screw this up" is the Eureka moment. I'm still struggling to apply it to everything but I'm getting better. That and Stoicism have combined to help me cut out a lot of victim shite I had been blabbing about in my own head! Our own terms and willpower. Amen.

I think you just blew my mind. I've always had entitlement problems and now I think you've exposed my belief that I deserve love unconditionally. I get that from my parents only. Even then, I'd expect them to disown me if I turned into a horrid person. So yeah, I need to stop expecting the universe to give me things. This creeping realisation has been interesting. I'm not sure if I'm out of the mourning period and into the action period of tackling the problem, but I'm getting there!

Yes, I agree with your point. I'm not claiming people should watch women's sport if they don't find it compelling due to biological differences. Fair enough. I don't watch the less skilled women fight because it isn't entertaining - kinda sloppy sometimes.. But in a sport like tennis where there are global superstars like the Williams sisters, it seems weird to ignore them. "To the general public, many male fights will be more appealing and compelling than a women's title fight. To call that sex…

He can also pointing this out wihtout him implying sexism. As a huge tennis fan he likely knows as much about the women's game as he does the men's. It might just irk him that the guy was factually incorrect, rather than sexist. That said, I do think talking this way, while the norm across societies, would be interperuted as anything but a little sexist from an outsiders perspective. I watch women's MMA and some of those girls can throw down and are wonderfully technical. Unfortunately, due to f…

If you can't feel the difference between real chemistry and looking into someone's eyes when they want you, compared to the dead gaze or a pornstar, I feel sorry for ya! Edit: Just realised you said you don't watch P, sorry didn't mean to imply you did but if you don't get anything extra from someone else's touch then you need to find new lovers :) Also, you could make the same argument "I enjoy the warm glow I get from sex so much more than having a wank, why waste time and energy getting a les…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
