That’s exactly what I came here to achieve. I know it can be hard to find but there are plenty of people who are open minded and do want to have a genuine discussion :) it’s late for me so I’m going to leave this here but if you want to continue a discussion my dms are open

The actions afflicted against those are downright disgusting and disgraceful. Of course many of us wish we could cast those who commit such actions in the name of a movement many of us strive to be peaceful and inclusive off like a rotting limb. Sadly I think feminism will always be tarnished by the same brush. I think it’s important for us to have these conversations so shit like that doesn’t continue to happen. Unfortunately I have seen an issue within feminism communities with people not even…

Yes of course it can lead some to believe that. I’m not defending that at all. Ideology is always up for interpretation by individuals. Just because a proportionately small part of a group have a toxic mentality that doesn’t represent the majority. If it’s the label of feminism you disagree with then I understand. I just want those here to know that the majority of people genuinely want equality and for everybody to be treated with dignity and respect

I’ll have to disagree with you on that. Obviously this is just my experience based on interacting within feminist communities, and I don’t want to de value if you’ve had bad experiences, but that is genuinely not what most people who take up the label of feminism believe. The definition of feminism is to establish political, economic, personal and social equality of the sexes. Anyone who believes to achieve that women need to be above men is just fundamentally not a feminist. That’s just not equ…

It would be nice if those who disagree would join the conversation. I commented because I think everyone should try to understand each other a bit more even if we are “from different sides” and because I genuinely believe that the men’s rights issues I’ve seen in this sub are valid and deserve attention.

It’s hard because labels and movements always end up carrying a reputation. Feminism has gotten a bad name because of loud misandrists and men’s rights has gotten a bad name because of loud misogynists. I just wish more people could come together and realise that we all want the same thing, for people to be treated with respect and dignity.

Please don’t listen to the crazy SJW eco chamber. As a woman and feminist I believe that people who believe in supremacy and that men can’t experience injustices and discrimination just because they are men are fucking nutcases. Trust me when I say the average feminist is not like that. They are ruining it for us who want genuine equality. I think the conversation of men’s rights is really important especially when it comes to mental health, suicide and domestic violence. Sadly the loudest peopl…
