Actually not too disappointed at the Grace Hopper one. She was a true trail blazer for women in what was then a closed to them world.

I remember when that murder went down. She kinda reminded me of a gal I worked with in looks, speech and mannerisms. Even the make up she wore. Creeped me out a bit That said, that gal is the one of the nicest people I know.

Maybe people will realize it also happens when house prices aren't accelerating quickly, or not accelerating at all...

While 35,000 American men a year die of prostate cancer and 43,000 women die of breast cancer (at a somewhat earlier age), breast-cancer research gets six times as much federal money as prostate-cancer research. Anyone have updated figures on this?

Interesting that it's on TSA printed material. Gotta make sure you use the appropriate letterhead so that you can incriminate yourself.

Form a men's group and nominate moving de facto men's spaces. That way they can't shut you down.

Dude, it's all true. I worked with a woman who told me she met "Dr. Laura", and and commented on how she insisted that she be referred to as "Dr. Callahan" by everyone. My former colleague had a legit Ph.D herself and thought it was weird, but said nothing.

You're not cheap. She's a fucking freeloader. Dude, I'm a pretty wealthy guy (I pay more in tax annually that the average US household earns) and I'd kick her ass to the curb faster than you can say "check please". Seriously, do you think this behavior will mysteriously disappear once she starts earning cash? It won't. It will get worse. She'll keep all of her money and continue to spend all of yours. Especially as you're a high earner. She sees you as an investment, probably. Trust me, I used t…

I think I recall a study done in Ireland earlier this decade that investigated the insurance industry in Ireland. They were thwarted at every stage by the industry but when the government finally got their hands on the data, it found that young single males, contrary to being the "so dangerous they're not profitable to insure demographic" were actually the single most profitable demographic in their market.
