1	a funny thing happened at the gym This all really comes down to two things. Societal norms and personal hangups. In most western countries it is probably the norm to avoid being seen naked in front of people of the opposite sex with whom we are not intimate. So having a cleaning lady in the males locker room has a certain WTF factor. But also we're all talking about what personally makes us uncomfortable. I was talking about the societal attitude that women are not supposed to enjoy looking at men's naked bodies. I'm not wrong. I put forth a few theories. Three to be exact. They may all be wrong. But should we use this then as an opportunity to point out to the women how up tight they are? Should we point out to men that they don't care enough about who they get naked in front of? But when a male janitor comes into my world I generally acknowledge him reflexively and may even think about telling him about my own time (in my teens) when I did cleaning work to find common ground. It's an interesting point to raise, and I've noticed this before too. On the one side it seems sexist to males. Some of us probably don't feel comfortable getting naked in front of the cleaning lady.
