Tiktok specifically curates your FYP for you based on algorithms. The more anti-men stuff you watch the whole video of, the more that appears. My FYP is filled with runners, golfers, and dad jokes.

None of those three quotes are in the article. I know this because I read the article. You must be reading a different article than the one posted. Not only are you reading something else, you are quoting people not even mentioned in the article posted.

We renamed Denali instead of keeping Mount McKinley, we could easily do the same with the naming of theories and rules

https://www.britannica.com/science/Pythagorean-theorem Even the encyclopedia says there is written records of the rule older than the Greeks. Part of whitewashing is that instead of attributing it to the actual cultures that discovered it, we assign a white persons name for it instead. It’s the same with many mountains and other geographical features located around the world. Devils Tower is a whitewashed name. Denali is the unwhitewashed name of the whitewashed Mount McKinley, this is the way i…

You obviously didn’t understand what was written then.... if you did read and understand what was written, you would know that they aren’t disputing 2+2=4, and wouldn’t have brought it up in your OP. Most of the math we use comes from Arabic and other cultures, but theories and algorithms had been whitewashed and given Greek and Roman names, mostly men. This is what they are upset about.

Thats not what they are disputing. They understand 2+2=4 Read the article, and then come back.

They are not disputing that 2+2=4. What they are angry about is that theories and algorithms that had been used in mathematics elsewhere and for longer are whitewashed and named for men. As stated in the article if anyone read it. Pythagoreans Theory has been used in other cultures for much longer than the Greeks and was used under a different name. I understand where they are coming from, however our basis for learning more complex portions of math (and the naming of equations) comes from what …
