Just so you're aware, that particular post, I'm not saying what he did was OK, but I understand.

Dads are only met with praise because they haven't done anything wrong yet. The second he makes a mistake, he's a bad dad. Moms could make mistake after mistake and would still be met with praise.

A man could breathe the wrong way and could be considered a bad dad, a mom would have to do a whole fucking lot to be considered a bad mom.

You know, I don't consider "right and wrong" to be an absolute concept. This guy was in the wrong, but not fully. I'm reading the original, and mocking aside, when the power goes out and you have a scared 3 year old and 38% battery, what if something happens, she has no battery to call anyone? And his response of "fuck off" was bad.

Honorable mention: Those in r/AmItheAsshole and r/relationship_advice whose first suggestion in a relationship trouble is divorce or breaking up.

See it so many times, especially when I was on the cesspool that is r/AmItheAsshole before they gave me the boot. There's a gender divide in that community, and in reddit in general. Whenever I complain about the tough parts of parenthood, people respond to me with apathy, saying how "you made tiny humans, you don't have rights anymore." If I were a woman, I'd be met with sympathy. A woman could advertise about how she doesn't take care of her kids, and everyone would be like "good for you, you …

The amount of times I hear people try to deflect the conversation to my post history or the fact that I'm in a sub like this is telling of who you are, not who I am. To me, it says "you got me cornered in the argument, and I have nothing better to contribute, so I'm going to punch up and not fight fair."

UPDATE: Dropping off present for her daughter while daughter was with her yesterday went without incident.

Next time we're at an event together, I'm not going to wait until after the party to tell my wife what happened. Each time she's near, I make sure my wife is right next to me so she can see it for herself.

Oh, don't worry...I'm conducting a little experiment. Twice this month, I have to go to her house since she and her daughter (turning 8) have birthdays coming up. I know what days the girl is with her dad, and what days she's with her. All I'll be doing is dropping off a present. I have a new pair of RayBans that can record video (yes, they do exist. Don't believe me? Google that shit) I wanna see if it's just the two of us (her daughter not at her house), will she try any funny business?

Is it degrading to you because this woman takes these liberties without your consent? It's the kissing on the lips that pisses me off, especially in front of my wife. If it weren't her cousin's best friend my wife would have punched her square in the face to be honest. Is it degrading to you solely because you're married? In a way, yes. Would you find the attention from this woman degrading if you were single and your wife were not in the picture at all? Yes. I'm a person, damn it. Would you fee…

It's her cousin's best friend who's creeping, but you're right

I'm not poor, but I would definitely do applebees as a first date only because it's a no pressure thing. A first date, back when I was dating, was pressure. I don't want to have the pressure of a first date AND the pressure of a fancy restaurant on top of that.

pisses me off when people on reddit have nothing against you in the current argument so they dig up your post history to use against you. Shitty.

I had to laugh and cry at the same time when I saw a picture on Wikipedia that commemorated the musicians aboard the Titanic. It said they all "died at their posts like men." Sorry, but if I were on board that ship, I'd try to protect everyone while also trying to make sure I'm OK too.

She has been keeping an eye on her ever since I told her and we’re at an event together. Last time went by without incident.

No I wouldn’t. I would tell him to stop if she hadn’t done so first

I never said anything to her (the toucher) because #1 didn’t want to cause a scene and #2 I didn’t think it was THAT big of a deal.

Or…she trusts me enough that she knows I’m not going to sleep with anyone else?

There was no wage gap. Their pays were equitable. Just because they weren't equal doesn't mean they were unjust.
