Yes, it IS written into law. However, in practice there is a long legal battle involved (paid for by you, btw) , you still have to pay child support in the meantime, and it will disrupt literally everything in your life. Idk about the uk, but in America, women make 77 cents on the dollar compared to men (shut up, i know wage gaps are due to choices, but the end result is mathematically the same), yet somehow consume 85% of spending power in the country. On average, women spend more than men, despite making less. Cant imagine why so many wouldn't do well on their own.

Not strictly a men's thing, but an older female friend of mine had custody of a great granddaughter while the mother was jailed for dui (drugs, not alcohol). When the mother got out, she got full custody despite repeated cases she had filed (and won) against the mother, proving her unfit. Mothers get priority under the system, period.
