Is obesity and the breakup of our traditional social/familial structures to blame for so many divorces in the US?Obesity has been on the rise over the last 30 years (the ubiquity of GLP1s might be changing that more recently though) and divorce rates have been on the decline over the same period. I am choosing to see this as indisputable confirmation of the old adage "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/26 09:02 PM
Recently DivorcedIf you haven't already yet, take some time to metabolize your divorce first. That means understanding the part you played, how you can be better going forward, and figuring out upon reflection what behaviors from your ex were an issue and what you won't tolerate in the future. Once you've done that I found Facebook dating and Hinge worked best for me but Hinge was very region dependent. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/26 09:25 PM
How soon is ‘too soon’ to start ‘exploits’ after telling your husband you no longer wish to be married to him?As long as she made it clear things are over she can hook up with whoever. Telling you and apparently rubbing it in your face though is pretty fucked up. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/26 03:21 AM
3 weeks of dating haven’t been idealNo problem man! Best of luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/26 05:13 PM
3 weeks of dating haven’t been idealHonestly man... not to disparage anyone but the people telling you it's just a waste of time aren't getting enough traction to set up three dates in a period of three weeks. As long as you approach it with the right mindset dating is still absolutely a fun experience where you get to meet lots of interesting people you might have never connected with otherwise. I think you'll be fine. I was in the same boat. I divorced my ex after being together for ten years. When I did end up dating again it h… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/26 04:58 PM
3 weeks of dating haven’t been idealThree different dates isn't really enough to suggest a pattern. I would just keep trucking along. I wouldn't expect to meet the right person after only dating for three weeks. Hell... even three months. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/26 01:51 PM
I think my wife hates meI know everyone's experience will vary but there are a lot of categorical claims made here that I think would be healthy to be a little skeptical of. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/06/26 07:57 PM
Those of you who initiated a divorce, how did your wife take it?For sure. I had to do a bunch of therapy to unpack everything and I still have some lingering issues but overall I am doing well. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/06/26 02:46 PM
Those of you who initiated a divorce, how did your wife take it?I initiated separation (which eventually became divorce) from my ex-wife just under a year and a half ago. It was pretty rough in the beginning and she took it quite hard (it was rough for me too in the beginning) but we're both doing well now and have an amicable (though not close) relationship. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/06/26 02:05 PM
