I live in a military environment since I'm born (been in the cadets like all of my siblings for 6 years now dad veteran and mom officier) and my dad told me a lot about the army. First, you are not obligated to be in the infantry. You can choose a totally not combat oriented job. Plus, if a WW3 would occur, it would be way more different than the others since we have the nuclear missile factor. Therefore, it would probably look like a cold war.
