What the author of the article is saying (as far as I can tell) is that one would expect shows that perform better to have longer runs, but plays written by women don't have longer runs on average. The article and the relevant study used this metric to show that women had to do better even to be accepted. 1	I just think that it isn't fair that the mothers name is not mentioned, if it was a male i'm sure it would have been I'd say that in either case, man or woman, the name shouldn't be mentioned in this kind of article.
