The funny thing is, we met in Israel. We're both Jewish, and I'm definitely a Zionist after my experience. I'm not saying she doesn't support israel or anything, it's just that she never talked about the issues over in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia like those.

I'll admit, yes, I was egging her on with some of my responses. In the moment, I was more interested in the reaction then actually winning the argument. There was no point of trying to change her mind (She's literally from California, what do you expect) so I wanted to see how she'd react to some things I thought (wage gap, straight pride (which was exaggerated))

Yeah, I understand what you mean. The sub seems to get kinda extreme with their opinions sometimes, going from genuinely helpful stuff to just straight up sexism (as I've seen twice in this comment section). Bringing up straight pride was mostly done to be hypocritical and egg her on. We really don't need straight pride (which leads into the argument of equality = no gay pride month, but thats for another day) since society accepts it as is. i know we don't but i kinda exaggerated there just to point out hypocrisy. Still, Boston did have a straight pride parade. I'm not anti-gay rights or anti-trans, but I just hate that people use it as a personality trait and are up in everyone's faces about it. I feel bad for the 7 year olds today, even if they're unfazed.

yeah. The "wage gap" is often referenced within the same job. That's illegal, and even so, big tech falls victim where Google has been found paying men less for the same jobs.

We're not striving for sexless true equality like that. I mean equality as in how one sees another. A man should respect a woman's right to argue as much as a woman should respect a man's. Of course, we'll never understand the complexities of things like giving birth, but that doesn't make anyone anyone's bitches. Social equality is respecting one another equally, not becoming equal.

Thanks for the input. Police brutality totally exists and is a problem in low income areas with (usually) high crime rates. They can become more dangerous, unfortunately.
