And this children was part of the reason the American newspaper industry stopped being relevant after the turn of the century. Few people had time for journalism like this and even less were swayed by it. Have a good weekend, and don't forget there will be a test on Monday. Class dismissed.

And this is just the ones that made the press. Doesn't include the fathers, brothers, uncles, who have been accused by family members, or ex-wife in custody battles or other hidden agendas.

This guy is/was selected in the desperate hopes that Obama can get a republican congress to move forward and not wait until after the election. And considering the two likely nominees, I think it's not a bad idea.

You won't get any argument from me. But...if the Michigan case goes forward, it may allow me to revisit suing the therapist for malpractice.

My case was ultimately dismissed with prejudice, but not until after my good name was dragged through the newspaper, the "Busted-type" web-sites on the internet, and my life savings was consumed by lawyers defending me.

Thank you for posting that reference. I have read the book, it is fascinating how she became convinced over time that her father had abused her. These stories are all too real for me, I am a victim of false allegations which have destroyed my family, and consumed my life savings. It is an insidious practice, disavowed by the main-stream psychological community, but still practiced by all too many so-called psychologist professionals. Recovered memory therapy is a hoax and ruins lives. I am a liv…

This is huge in my humble opinion. A therapist was sued for convincing a young woman that she was molested by father. The parents sued the therapist, but the lower court threw the case out because they were a third party to the alleged offense. The appeals court overturned the lower court decision and now the issue is before the Michigan Supreme Court. If this case is allowed to go forward, it will set a precedence so that falsely accused parents can sue the therapist for planting these ideas in…

It wasn't my choice, I was three days old. What I'm trying to say is that I don't remember it, I don't feel abused, and I'm glad it happened. And when I expressed that same sentiment 6-months ago right here, I was told I should feel angry and pissed off.

Just for the record, I was mauled too. But it wasn't by some obstetrician 68 years ago, it was right here because I said I was happy to have a cut cock. And everyone jumped on me about how wrong I was to feel happy, and how I was supposed to be miserable, angry and hateful towards my parents and doctor who 'cut' me. I'm working on getting in touch with my hidden anger of this issue, but so far I haven't been to successful. Still happy I'm cut.

I didn't spend years in prison, (thank God), because I had money for some good attorneys, but I did spend two fucking months in jail after being accused based on a dream. Who ever said it was simply unpleasant needs to be put in jail for at least a couple of months.

Check out the False Memory Syndrome Foundation admittedly this deals with false memories discovered usually through memory recovery therapy, but there is a wealth of information which will lead to work down by Elizabeth Loftus and others about the nature and malleability of memory.

I was charged, arrested, and incarcerated for two months on 4 first-degree felony charges of sexual child abuse. Finally the charges were dismissed by the prosecution, and have subsequently been expunged, but not after paying my entire retirement savings in legal fees. Bitter much? Yup!

I was falsely accused, incarcerated 60 days, paid over $30,000.00 to get a dismissal and expungement. So-called Detective did nothing to verify claims. Election year for District Attorney, so he wouldn't let go. A personal nightmare which I thought would never happen to me.

When it comes to allegations of sex abuse, men are automatically guilty until proven innocent. This was my personal hell for 4 years, two months in jail, very expensive lawyers. All I can say is our criminal justice system is fucked.

Fact is, that the presumption of innocence only exists in Hollywood, and first year law school classes. The rest of the time you're guilty the moment you're arrested, and you spend the rest of the time and all of your money trying to prove your not guilty. Been there, done that.

I think I understand your point, and would agree in general. However our particular justice system is supposed to tilt slightly in favor of the accused, according him all of the rights and assumptions of an innocent man. The burden of proof must fall to the person making the accusations to prove what they claim. I don't think it goes so far as to assume they are lying, but just expecting them to be able to prove, rather than make wild allegations. I think that is my biggest gripe with the curren…

I was falsely accused of felony child abuse by my own daughter. She was convinced that I abused her by her therapist. My mug shot and arrest and charges are all over the internet. If you do a background check that's the first thing that pops up. My case never went to trial, because the prosecutor realized the deeper they got into the case that they could not win at trial and moved for a dismissal. But without a statute of limitations, you make it possible for false memories to be drug up from 10, 15, even 20 years ago. Further you open the door to revenge allegations made by warring wives and husbands.

Working with Harry Reid, these two sisters want the individual states to drop or greatly extend the statute of limitations on making allegations of sex abuse. Extending the statute or eliminating it will make the possibility of false accusations much greater.

I am not sure of the libel and slander laws, and I wouldn't want to turn this into some kind of war. But "Recovered Memory Therapy" was all the rage in the 80's and 90's until it was debunked by cases like the McMartin Preschool and others where it was obvious that the therapists had guided the patients to conclusions which were not true. My daughters therapist is an older woman, and obviously didn't get the memo about her junk-therapy methods. I am told by a psychologist professional in the sam…

Getting back with me has cost her a relationship with her girls. Both of them feel betrayed by her for approaching me, and neither will allow any contact from their mother as long as she lives with the 'monster'. Right or wrong, I consider her (wife's) actions to be an 'epic gesture at her cost' to restore her faith in me.
/r/MensRights12/05/15 05:44 PM

Thank you. I love my wife, I love my children, (all of them) and if my daughter came to me today asking forgiveness, I would embrace her, tell her I love her and immediately forgive her. She didn't know what she didn't know.

I have considered trying to write 'my story' but I'm old, nearly 70. I think the best course of action is to just lay low, get through the rest of my life as best I can, and hope that before I die, my daughter will discover the truth. That is my hope. It may be a pipe dream, but it is my dream, nonetheless.

My daughter's allegations were that I began abusing her at about 8 and continued until she was 15. She moved out of our house at 18 when she went to college, and it was when she was 20 that she began seeing the therapist that 'helped' her recover her false memories of past abuse.

She has destroyed her own inheritance. My retirement money and life savings (not a lot of money) has been spent on attorneys defending the charges she alleged. There will be nothing left for her. She is a victim. Not of sexual abuse by her father, but a victim of bad therapy. I wish there was a way she could see that, but so far she is blind to that possibility. Her brothers will help her come to her senses, but I fear I'll be gone by then. (During this process I suffered a mild stress induced h…

My two girls the accuser and her older sister are still estranged from both me and my wife. My two sons are close and never believed that I was guilty. I hope that the girls will come to understand the truth. There is a fascinating book entitled "My Lie" which is about a woman who accused her father and then finally realized that she was indeed the victim, but not the victim of abuse, but the victim of bad therapy.

She's a mother first. She loves her kids, and when she thought that I was guilty, she supported her daughter. Once she realized her error, she apologized, admitted her mistake and asked for forgiveness. We had been married over 35 years, and frankly I still loved her. I think she's learned her lesson.

At first, when my daughter first started to 'recover' her memories, my wife was supportive of her, and our marriage ended in divorce. My other daughter supported her sister and while she said that I never touched her, she believed I had abused her sister. My two sons were skeptical of the charges, but split in their support of my daughter. Over time the allegations grew and were modified and once they started to include my wife as an accomplice in my abuse, my wife began to realize the charges w…
