I always wish I could find someone who loved me like that. I hope someday to meet someone who lowers my BP just seeing them because I love them so much. But I'm older now and time is running out. May never happen, but I'm not even trying to meet anyone right now either.

As a single, child free female that had a great career owns a home, has interesting hobbies, I don't feel compelled to get into a relationship. I'm happy alone. And if a person (I'm open to any gender as a partner at this point) does not bring more into my life, it doesn't make any sense to date them.

I don't not agree. When I was younger many of the men I dated were not attractive- kinda goofy looking. But I had a serious spark with these guys. Didn't work out with any of them for a variety of reasons tho. And I've dating really gorgeous men who I didn't feel the spark at all. But they were enjoyable to look at.

This literally just happened to me. I made a post that didn't get much attention about when he says he just wants to be friends, don't believe him. Started to hang out with an old acquaintance on the stated terms of "just friends". I could never date him for many reasons. He was thoughtful, kind, and seemed like a great new friend. Someone to go places with and do fun things. When I told him that, as an introvert, I don't text or hangout much with anyone, he did a 180 and stopped the friendship …

From my perspective, a moderately successful woman, I can not date a person with out goals and hobbies. Recently an old male acquaintance tried to date me and I just could not do it. He is 48, lives with his parents and has a low wage, dead end job. When I ask him what he sees in his future, he said "go with the flow". I do not require weathly, fit individuals. But having goals, working on achieving them, and a solid foundation is necessary.

My ex boyfriend was obsessed with being skinny and stopped touching me, stopped being kind and loving, and generally lost interest in me after I gained 10 lbs. I was already 10 lbs over my ideal weight and the extra weight really turned him off. After I broke up with him (for more than the reasons than listed above - he was an asshole), he became obsessed with hot yoga and got even thinner and lean. I imagine his next girlfriend will be similar. I gained another 10 lbs and feel totally comfortab…

I recently learned that Patrick Stewart married a much younger woman. So disappointing.

Excellent advice. I wish I knew about this group years ago. My ex was exactly like this, only touched me for sex. I've felt like an unloved object for years. Unfortunately I'm at the point now that I prefer to be alone and no longer interested in sex because all I've ever known is being a sexual object with none of my own agency.

Awhile back I was friends with a group of ladies who bragged about the good looking guys they banged from Tinder hook ups. These ladies are all educated with great careers but not pretty in the traditional sense (being honest). The guys they would hook up with were very attractive with fit, muscular bodies. I did not find it empowering for them. It just seemed sad. But they seemed thrilled with their good luck in fucking such good looking men. One reason I never got into "sport fucking" is I wou…

Also men having many sexual partners is not impressive. I hope this culture changes as well.

"Sport fucking" is what we called it and I felt that it was a right of passage. I have many regrets.

I'm living proof of this. My ex refused to move out of my house. I ended up having to sell it and move to another town.

This confuses me. Surely he has some preferences, unless he is a scammer?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
