In a perfect world, that's how it would work. But for all their talk of equality, feminists have generally argued (and won) that a divorced woman is entitled to continue living the lifestyle to which she is accustomed. Total load of shit.
Well that's fucked. California laws are generally set up to favor the woman, regardless of the circumstances. Alimony and child support here are out of control and things aren't likely to change any time soon.
