No, she probably honestly thought that something was happening against the child. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, she didn't do it just to spite men but instead because of how her divorce subconsciously tainted her view of men in general.

This same logic though could be applied to support the "separate but equal" reasoning for racial discrimination. In addition to this, I don't really see what women really took away from men when they got suffrage, equal pay, etc. It's only now that I really see modern feminists that are actually trying to "gain" rights at the expense of men.

In general though, feminists did have a cause worth fighting for: suffrage and later full equality. Sure, there are going to be extremists in any group but in general, this was a cause worth fighting for.
