A few blue-collar guys I know from high school are married, but their girls generally and ugly and fat. My friends who have good white collar jobs have better looking gf's/wifes if they do have one. If there were a larger supply of just thin, in shape women (not even beautiful) then maybe there would be less pedestalization of beautiful women.
