1	As predicted And that's fine, but folks having a super negative reaction to celebrities takes away a tool you can use yourself, or adjust to your own messages. 1	As predicted That's fair, but I don't agree that celebrities shouldn't have the ability to engage in public discourse about topics issues related to stats and sciences; obviously it's better to have someone talk that has data or is versed in that field. But our society doesn't put these people on a pedestal automatically, you aren't going to get anything spread or done without a platform, if you feel a particular individual has their facts wrong, you encourage them to correct or highlight a better voice. 1	As predicted I'm not sure, but regardless of what issues they take on, they aren't wrong for speaking about injustices simply because they're celebrities or have a wealth of money. It's like being against the idea of wealthy people calling for more taxes, or people who own iPhones even talking about child labor. 1	As predicted It's a bit more complex than who the speaker is, unless you can find a way to give the poor a proper audiance and platform that's wide reaching, celebrities are specifically people who can call attention to issues - because they have an audience. People with clean water can still talk about dirty water in Flint, people who didn't get shot in a school can still talk about school shootings - it's more impactful when an actual victim talks about it, but that only happens with a platform.	/r/MensRights	11/12/18 04:29 PM
