Breaking his trust= not being emotionally stable. I have had self loathing panic attacks. He says I treat him like a threat in my time and demeanor when I get emotional/carried away emotionally/hysterical. I mean I think it is as bad as he thinks I will lie to get pregnant by him without his consent or I will get angry, lose my mind and claim that he raped me or something. How can you trust someone who let's themselves get emotionally out of control? Also he doesn't feel comfortable connecting w…

I wouldn't be surprised if my guy was cut from the same cloth.

I am not married. Your response was very helpful. I am going to come back to it later in the day.

He is brilliant and strong. He has helped me to see the world through a more truthful logical lense and I learn from him constantly. He is consistent in his convictions and beliefs.

He is not working on a degree. He is talking with politicians about politics and trying to find an ethical means of making money doing something he believes in.

I think he wants to remain sexually off until a sexual relationship built on trust is possible. It is not possible whe n we ca n not talk about real things without conflict and emotional outbursts on my end.

Everytime I have mentioned helping around the house he gets defensive and starts pointing out messes I make. I don't think he has ever cleaned a house for himself, but also I am messy :( one of those things I need to work on. Since I am messy he doesn't lift a finger. Except to unload the dishwasher occasionally, take the garbage out and the fans out once a week. I work 50 hours a week. Surely he could do more but I could do better too. The therapists basically smiled and nodded while I talked a…

I have an IUD. My understanding is that it is a matter of trust. Especially because his sexuality is pretty rough in nature. He doesnt operate sexually any other way. Think BDSM. I don't want to go into details here. But trust is essential for him.

Also he periodically unloads the dishwasher :)

He prospects future work ideas, plays video games, and researches his interests (mostly politics) I have seen several therapists that were largely unhelpful. I also tried several medications. Currently I am looking into Jordan Peterson's past present and future authoring programs.

He does not want to risk having a child with a woman who is emotionally unstable (not fit to be a mom). Also, I infer that he is less attracted to me.

I did read that artice and loved it. I have done both forms of blame and I found the article very eye opening as to why I was playing the blame game and why it was so destructive. Thank you, really. This response is something I really needed to hear. You give great advice. I'm not sure how to adiquately put into words how greatful I am that you took the time to help me so thouroughly. Yesterday I talked with my guy about RPW and the things I am working to change. We talked about goals and areas …

Honesty is good for the soul. Plus I do seem prone to stuffing parts of reality that I don't like to the back of my mind. This year has truely been the year of looking my self in the mirrror, looking at my child hood, my parents and my life and going , "Whoah Nellie! You have alot you have been refusing to look at (avoidance)". My boyfrind has been the biggest influencer in this change in me. He has been pointing out things from the first time he saw me change from the super competant, confident…

Although these past few years have not been his best, equality is not the goal between us. He is motivated to do what he needs to do to make much more money... it will take time and hard work though. I think he has it in him:)

He has one little girl. His ex wife divorced him... and then told him she was pregnant. He would not have agreed to divorce her if he knew she was pregnant. He told her that he would not have kids with her until she got her mental health under control. She was screaming at him and throwing things on an almost nightly basis before they got divorced. Apparently she had stopped taking her birth control and antidepressants without telling him and as soon as she knew she was pregnant she asked for a …

He has not always been unemployed, but has been in this state since I have known him. He used to make a lot of money, but he quit thst job after his ex wife divorced him. She is a highly emotionally abusive woman and she got as much money from him as she could.. he has been in a slump since. He comes from a family with money.... I do not. That may or may not be relevant.

He works on computers. He is taking side jobs for income purposes and living with minimalist tendancies. Doesn't make enough to make ends meet or anything beyond that. The work he does doesn't make the kind of money it used to. He is in the process of geting school stuff sorted out. Then he will be working on campus and going to school full time.

Not gonna lie, that could factor. This is the man I choose though. Not sure what to do about that besides suck it up for now (at least try my best to). After college he will have a much higher earning potential than I have and I will not have to work as much, if at all. In the meantime though, things are rough and it may take a little time of adjustmen's on my end, before he feels motivated to step up on his side of things. Doing more "Man stuff" around the house, looking for more opportunities …

I feel a little silly admitting this, but your comment made me a little teary eyed. Thank you for the welcome and for sharing hope. I have a couple questions, if you dont mind... Did you ever find yourself getting impatient/ discouraged when you first started out. Any helpful advice on how to keep my mind positive in the meantime?... while he is adjusting. Did you tell your guy about the changes you wanted to make before or as you made them? Or did you keep it to yourself?

It has been a bumpy start since I have discovered RPW. I have a long way to go, and I certainly don't think I have it all figured out. Is that what you mean by cognitive dissonance? Or are you referring to me being the more solid "provider/resourceful" person in my relationship at this time?
