2	Why nice guys suck at dating Women must earn the nice guy in me and it takes a bit to do so, even then I meter it out so I'm still the one investing the least into the whole ordeal. Betas pull nice guy right off the bat and do not require women to earn it, this puts the woman in the position of power since he is over-investing You hit the nail right on the head here. 1	Every "nice guy" or guy who exhibits "nice" tendencies should read this. It's a great explanation as to why "nice" doesn't work on it's own and how to balance it with attractive actions. Great summary and I agree with the sentiment that it can be a fine line to to strike between respectful and visceral--but I'll take it one further and say it's about emotional RANGE more than anything. The author talks about the two behaviors in binary "either/or" sort of terms when in reality it should be more about the dynamic between primal and respectful desire.
