It was on the talk on How To Hold Conversation Like a Man that got linked here sometime late last week. It's good advice. Pay attention to how the other person is responding and react to that and you won't come off as creepy. Seems like common sense once you hear it like that.

Yes, absolutely always leave when you're ahead, especially if you can go back later. Leaving on a high note leaves her thinking about you, while leaving during a lull in the conversation makes you more forgettable. Easier said than done, but isn't everything?

So I'm starting to get better at approaching people and holding a conversation, but I'm having trouble taking it from there. Especially if I start dancing with a girl--there have been a handful of times now where I start dancing and the woman starts grinding on me, and I get immediately self conscious, chicken out, and fail to escalate it from there. Even without dancing, if a girl is showing interest and we're being affectionate and all touchy, I seem to have trouble working up the nerve to esc…

Still a beginner and working on this whole thing, but it seems like it's gotta be your job to keep suggesting the times. YOU are the man who is interesting, YOU are the one with things going on, YOU are the man with the plan, so YOU are the one who has to keep up with setting up the date. It's frustrating, but waiting on the girl to set something up left me lonely for a quarter century, so, it just doesn't work.
