Remember too that Billy Joel , Ric Ocasek , Phil Collins , I can keep going if you like , all were devastated when their wives walked out on them. So all the money , talent , looks , can't save you from people with no ethics no honor no ability to bond. So chin up and go make your best life fellas. I'm in this club .

No one leaves a relationship to start watching netflix reruns by themselves. 99.9 % she has prepared someone new to soften the landing. It doesn't matter , she's already gone. And you need to be gone now too. Easier said than done but at least you have a map now. Run and never look back. Never. Look. Back.

I bankrupted myself fighting custody and visitation. There were canceled visits and arguments in police station parking lot child exchanges. Ultimately she married a guy who drinks a lot and they throw each other around. Good for them . My daughter came to me when she aged out , wanted to go college but momma and husband are always broke , no savings they both like to spend. Promise you , my daughter moved back to my state and finished college last year . She rarely even small talks to her mom a…

The kids will mostly always come back to you, years later or sooner. There's exceptions, but you won't be one of those. Your partner will break under the financial/ emotional/tactical/ personal , issues that come with attempting to successfully single parent your children. It will age them 10 years in barely 2 or 3. Whether your children live next door or 7 states away , you need to be the best version of you. Healthy, fit , groomed , rich daddy. I want to say that you're brain is playing mad tr…

This was not your person. This was not your person. This was not your person. Give yourself grace & forgive yourself for what you didn't know & allow yourself time to grow and heal . Be the very best father you can be. Enjoy the ride friend. Many in this sub we are all experiencing similar , or different, but it's a shared pain. Wagmi

Some people are not capable of loving supportive relationships, so they check out mentally early , then point the blame at the partner who remains. The perfect crime. But it's true that when a couple breaks up the person who dates immediately afterward is the one who cannot bond

I can't understand this. No one died. This person still walks the earth and confidently left - like they said I don't want to walk this life with you - and so in the future if there's money problems , they chose this for themselves. And honestly chose it for me too it just didn't work out that way , yet. A woman leaves even though the man might drink himself or pill himself out but she leaves anyway. She don't care. Except If she needs money ?? No thank you. You want out , this is out .

And new dude ain't gonna last. It's not always anything he says or does, it's that momma has learned she can monkeybranch with no penalty ' I'm still hot and other men desire me too ' . That thought pattern alone guarantees rough seas ahead. And dude is only being told what a monster you are , you're selfish , arrogant, don't pay shit , lol. She had to sell a lie to prove she's not a garden tool. 90% it's gonna fail , trust

I must disagree. Converting my pain to anger, until I can reach a place called Healing is the only way I can get out of bed every morning. I surrendered so many boundaries only to still be discarded effortlessly and ruthlessly. I'm angry that my ex knew this would kill me , and still chose this for me. I'm angry that I gave so much in so many ways , repeatedly, and have been dismissed and replaced , smoothly.

Happy Father's Day dude. In any silence at least we can teach our children what quiet dignity looks like. Use your time to accomplish and achieve personal goals and dreams and maybe the kids come back around , and maybe they don't , but nothing worse than waiting for company that never rsvp's and never shows up

' her mistake ' represents a thousand micro-decisions. They decide to exchange contact info , they secretly communicate, she smiles at you in the kitchen , she hides her phone / ringer off/ always face down/texting in the bathroom 'my stomaches upset ' , then picking out her outfit to meet loverboy, lying about where she's at/went, spending money on food /gas/new underwear to impress new guy, honeypot suppositories and vagisil purchases to keep it extra fresh for work friend Mike , a cheating sp…

How To Be a Doormat . Believe all the lies. Surrender your self respect and self esteem. Eliminate any boundaries that are reasonable or protect you. Ignore the example that you are setting for your children. Enjoy sloppy seconds/thirds from your wife who is getting fucked in cars in various parking lots in town. Start smoking and drinking and eating as much fast food as possible hoping your heart will quit early

And after you contact him , contact me too. You're under incredible pain and you see an answer that will make it stop for you but then transfers that pain to someone or someones' else. Give yourself a timeline for things to ease up , even a little, so you don't make a permanent solution to a temporary problem

A difference is that alot of women base their persona on their face , body , appearance. Tinder snapchat insta make it easy to trade away the honeypot for great exaggerated validation and ass kissing. But time does what it does , and people end up alone , lonely , spent , and bitter. While dudes are already used to this shit , the wannabe homecoming queen gets to learn. And it's well deserved. So I'll see you at the lake or see you at the gym or see you at the car meet , while the endgame awaits…

I don't wanna tiptoe thru the minefield. But typically stepdad is in for a rude awakening once the kids go off to live their lives , just like even biological parents are , but worse. All his time effort & love aren't gonna save him from mom redefining herself , again , and he's gonna be wheeled out to the curb. Thanks for helping me raise my kids big fella , and out.

it hurts your kids more to watch Dad live on his knees during the best years of your life. You can show your children what boundaries, great co-parenting, and dignity look like. And they can take those lessons into adulthood and do whatever they want with them

Cheaters don't change and no one can rewrite a Betrayal , so there's really NOTHING to save. I know of no actual successful reconciliation, it's just two cowards agreeing to live in shit temporarily, because the cheater will always find a way to hurt you again

She doesn't know what she wants . Everything will just be chaos. She's left the relationship but wants to grab as much value as she can on her way out. Shouldn't give a fuck about anything she wants or how she wants it. Those days are over.

My ex was/is very attractive. After multiple workplace affairs some hidden some not , she finally threw me out with the trash. I showed her picture to my therapist and the therapist immediately responded ' this is the woman you want to kill yourself over ??? ' looks wise she's a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. I was shocked , I said she's an 11 to me. When I repeated this story to someone I trust , that person said ' she's not really pretty ' but I know that you love her. Anyways , sorry the long read.…

I use a spoon for soup but a knife and fork for steak dinner. Never vice versa. You write like a thoughtful loving person , but that is not this situation. If she's talked and flirted to other men she doesn't give a rats ass about you or your feelings. Judge her by what she does not says. She's playing house until she's ready to pull the pin and your acting sweet and loving to someone who doesn't choose you anymore. This is soup now , use the spoon

The mind plays some crazy , crazy tricks on you when a relationship ends. But the actuality is often simpler. She stopped participating in the relationship a long time ago and the separation was completed in her mind before she finally dropped clues to you , and putting her feelers out for new supply. Your win is letting yourself grieve , then completely walking away. You're both still the same people, there's no change , and one will flourish or both will flourish, but you gotta get moving frie…

I would tell the person who don't wanna get wet , borrow or purchase an umbrella. I would tell a person who never wants to feel heartbroken then never love. This awful price is what we all pay. No one is immune , think of every person you know even the richest most beautiful people on the planet. They've all been heartbroken. Now let's get healthy , survive , then thrive. She's pouring shots of poison at the bar , she don't care who drinks them , you're finding a nice stool and drinking 'em one at a time. This is not helping you. Stand up and get the fuck out that bar man. There's better places serving cake and punch , full buffet , you just gotta go .

Stepfather rarely get a win. Can mean well , do well , sacrifice time and energy, the child grows to a young adult and completely disappears out of your life. Only to resurface as family -of -the year with the split bio parents. It's never worth it. You get left by mom and her kids , bio dad says thank you.

That's good for him and healthy. When he gets older , older , older he will process information differently. That's ok. He shouldn't hate his mom or see her flaws , that's your job. And it's up to you to protect your children , and you haven't been able to do that properly while living with her under the same roof. Some people , not even just women , are long for the streets. So they need be sent back to where their happiest

The opposite is seeing Dad slowly crushed by a woman who disrespects and belittles him in front of the kids. Running around having affairs , don't tell Dad - you better stay out of it. And then finally when her looks fade and her health takes a shit you get to be a nurse for somebody who would NEVER had done the same for you. Stuck for life. I'll take the 50/50 and a lifetime to enjoy them sooner than later , without some psycho always making everything about themselves.

In your situation it seems like therapy would not help. Therapist can't put morals ethics love loyalty in a person. She has no respect for you anymore and that's not gonna change now. If she ever wanted to reconcile it won't be for the reasons you want. Set her free and she'll be popular af , if not already , but that's ok. You'll be healing and rebuilding while she relives her younger years. But she'll wake up an older mess with only desperate attention from dudes who bring literally nothing to…

You've passed your problem to a lucky guy called Sean. All the rest is simply logistics and will work itself out one way or another. Do not let her in when she tries to come back. She's showing you exactly what she values and respects you at , she doesn't. Have a great life from here on out, the pain will slowly slowly evaporate , but it will evaporate

So it's time to start a new chapter in your life OP. Everything is gonna be fine, just gonna hurt like hell until it don't hurt anymore. I'm no one to give advice. But I see you and hear you and surviving the very same thing. It'll get better , but you decide how long you want to mourn. It's all gonna be ok. Better than ok if you spread your wings and soar.

Single mom knows that a relationship is complicated by her children too. That's why after you finally help her nurture and provide for her brood she will want to go see family out of state for something important. No one has found a cure for the pain. But time will fill the holes eventually. You're gonna need to be strong as hell until then. It's doable even if you don't want to do it. The only thing you have to do for the time being, every day , is just survive. That's it. You'll win in the long run and you , me , your future self , and your new future family whatever that looks like are gonna be so fucken proud of you man. Fight the good fight. Every day , you just need to survive to the next day.

You'll want to mount a rescue operation, save a relationship that no longer exists , beg /plead/ negotiate. But nothing will work , especially long term because the person you want back simply changed into someone else and you're one of the last to know. Reinvest and reinvent yourself and walk away with dignity even if you have to fake it. You're a father first and last now everything else is less necessary. GL OP, and I'm very sorry
