If she's leaving you. It means she decided to many months ago, and has been slowly detaching herself from you. So you're basically outa luck. Somehow they can sit right next to you and just slowly turn off their feelings. Wish I knew how the hell to do that.

I feel your pain. Ex and I were together for 10 years. Started dating at 16. I recently started to feel up to dating. Nothing serious but just meet people, have fun, let things go where they will. Online dating has gone terrible lmao. I have no clue where or how to meet people irl. Nevermind being ghosted online, none of my tinder matches even ever respond 🙃. Not the end of the world, I'm plenty occupied and enjoying just taking care of myself. Not super great for the confidence though lol.

Ex has a personality disorder. Gaslighted my ass for years. Shit I didn't realize until everything was basically over. When I finally did realize. I called them out on it the next time it happened. Suddenly I was a emotionally abusive narcissist. Meanwhile she'd had me turned into some kind of pretzeld up puppet for years. So not sure how I was supposed to be a narcissist. Point being. Like many have said, don't bother trying with any of it. Don't try and figure anything out with them. Understan…

Parents went through a nasty divorce when I was a kid. I spent years telling myself 'I'm not going to let things end up like that. Il do everything I have to, to make sure it works.' Yeah, about all that determination did was make me ruin myself trying to make her happy. I mean, hey, I got to 10 years. I was proud of that lmao. Really just meant it hit extra hard when she cheated and walked out. Just remember, no matter what. The most important thing right now. Is your kids. Be strong for them. …

Yeah, I absolutely don't want to do that. I wasn't trying to get into anything serious you know. I will absolutely just end up hurting someone at that rate. I clearly, and I'm realizing more so, have things to work through still. I just thought I could kinda do casual shit. Turns out that's not quite healthy for me at this point ha. I definitely don't want to hurt anyone else though yeah. This shit sucks and I for sure don't want to put anyone through a fraction of it lol.

Yeah I think I'm realizing that from what everyone has been saying, and just talking here. I spent so much of my life in a relationship that I'm kinda struggling now being alone. Which is obviously not good, and means I won't be happy even if I did find someone. I need to focus on me.

More or less yeah. Mostly I was always far far more committed to her and our relationship then she was to me. I was committed to an unhealthy degree, to the point where it was harming me. She on the other hand. Yeah, was selfish. It wasn't until everything was over that I actually realized I had been more or less a doormat. I knew that she wasn't as committed. Then I made the stupid choice of trying to make it all work on my own, because I thought it's what I wanted. That I could make it work, a…

Yeah. I think you're right. Plus I have been enjoying doing more for myself. Getting back into old hobbies. Trying new hobbies. Traveling a little. I think it's just a tough adjustment. I need to take more time for myself though.

I absolutely agree with feeling out of my element. Trying to date now is such a vastly different experience compared to the very little experience I had 'dating' as a kid before my ex. It was rough feeling like I, felt weird about it, but was confident that I was doing well. Only to realize I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. I worry something similar. Right now, I know that I do want a relationship. It's a scary though, because of the way mine ended, but I know I do want one eventually. …

It is a done deal. I'm just still struggling with saying it I think. Which means yeah, it's definitely still too soon. You're right.

Yeah I think you're right. Remaining parts of marital conditioning. I have to actually focus on how I feel about it, to feel anything for someone else. It doesn't come naturally like it should. Hopefully time heals the both of us. Best Regards to you too
