Because all these family court laws are based on archaic outdated models. You’re looking at it as good vs. evil and I guarantee you the other half is looking at it as winning vs. losing. Nothing will change. Anyone thinking court is “fair” is going to be very shocked by how things actually operate. When you think of court you think of laws, evidence, truth actually mattering. It took me a long time to separate the two personas. Once I did though it was much easier mentally to put into perspective that I wasn’t hurting someone I love by leaving. That person is gone forever so I had to look out for my best interests for once. Good luck!
