STFU means no commenting on the pants. You decided to puke about the pants. Now you are 100% in her frame, and she is creating the reality …using nothing but pants. Better option. Say nothing about the pants. Show her with your with actions. Take her somewhere she is dressed for, somewhere less nice, (fast food). Still say NOTHING! The mood she chose for this date was not dressy, but casual so you are doing casual. No covert contract. Just an action and a consequence. Don’t express any emotion a…

Your T levels are easy to check. If low T replacement is very easy. Adequate T levels improve your lean muscle mass, bone density, and reduce risk for cardiovascular disease, and decrease rates of depression. Libido is a complex thing, but low T can cause serious problems and is simple to fix. I am a retired doctor, and low T is an easy problem to solve and can improve life significantly. Very high levels of T have health risks, but if you see your doctor and use your prescription correctly it s…

Your ego is your worst enemy. That was tough to read. I recommend the book “Ego is the enemy”.

Unless you are reciting the Greek alphabet, never say alpha again. Men who refer to themselves as “alpha” are like fingernails on a chalkboard. Supremely confident is what stupid people call themselves because they are too stupid to know how stupid they are. Question yourself often. It is not a lack of self confidence, it is intelligent and necessary for success. You don’t need to blab about it for reassurance, but you better be able to ask yourself hard questions, and get comfortable with the s…

MRP is not about changing your wife. Her possible positive changes are only a side effect. You need to do continue to work hard on yourself. We are here to be our become our best selves. To earn our own respect and most importantly to own our shit, so we can change. Gym and diet are obvious, but at this point it makes sense to me to visit with a good divorce attorney and be prepared. Your attorney will have some concrete steps you can follow to be prepared if your wife is headed for the door.

We pay for gifts for family and friends from the joint account as “our” expenses. We discuss budgets for gifts, because we both come from large families and so we agree on what is reasonable.

This is what works for us. YMMV. All income is deposited into a shared account. That account is used for all family purchases and expenses. We each have our own credit cards and we use them for convenience. The credit cards are paid from the family account. We each a credit card budget to use as we please. As long as our credit card bill does not exceed our planned budget, I don’t review her expenses and she doesn’t review mine. Our income disparity has been unimportant because everything is joi…

The good news is you have some good advice in here. 1- hit the gym. Yes you will look better, but the gym is actually for your mental health. You will need it during this stressful time. 2- talk to a lawyer. Get all your ducks in a row. Bank accounts. Business ownership. All of it. Being prepared is how you reduce your fear. 3-any boundary that you allow people to cross without consequences is actually an invitation. 4- keep your narrative very simple. She will TRY to paint you as the bad guy an…

I don’t think you handled this badly. I also think that it could easily turn bad if she begins to use divorce as a threat to get your compliance. At this time, it sounds like you have been solving problems and that is one of the functions of a good man. I like how you recognized that she was tapping out. You gave comfort when it was needed. This is what makes it so tricky sometimes a test is a test and sometimes it does require comfort.

Just to be extra clear, when you say BPD you mean BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER. If the answer is yes, then you are playing with fire. If you choose to marry her, your life will be unbelievably complicated in every way. You sound on the fence today. Suffice it to say you need to research BPD.

“Grenade in some dread” WTF? She does not have any dread. She has gone out with her siblings and they will all agree that you are not a prize. I do not think you understand how dread works. This post was dreadful. She did not and does not dread losing you. Who would? You need to become so amazing she would literally dread losing you, not so awe full she can’t wait to see you go. You did not “grenade in some dread” you pouted like a spoilt child. She does not want to fuck you. She does not even w…

Anything you give attention to is reinforced. If she does something good, be generous with praise. If she does something of the garden variety weed behavior. Ignore her. I’m not talking about the silent treatment. Leave. Go to the gym. Go read. If she follows say “you are disturbing my peace, please take that elsewhere.” Good behavior= generous attention. Normal common noxious behavior = no attention, go give attention to your kids, your gym, your friends. You want a better sex life. She wants a…

My wife has ocd. There is no simple cure all, but here are a few ideas. First: be a good captain of the ship. If the first mate had ocd, that does not prevent you from being a great captain. Second. Have a chore list and do it like it is incredibly important because for her it is, and because she is Important to you, she NEVER has to ask you about any of the chores on your list. If you do the floors, do them daily and well. If you do the kitchen, make it spotless. Now work on your MRP game.

I think that the big message that is not said with words but is communicated with action is that if I need something I will make sure it gets done. I want dinner, so I took care of it. I want a chore done, so I did it. I want an enthusiastic sex partner… I think it is also wise to make clear simple to understand expectations if they are met give that your attention, if they are not met do not give any attention. For most people negative attention is still attention.

Reassurance is what she seeks. Her biggest fear is failing to care for her baby properly. Reassure her that she is a loving mom. If she needs reassurance from your pediatrician, don’t sweat it. Pediatrician are literally experts at reassuring anxious moms. Tell her she is doing everything right, and tell her she can schedule a visit with the pediatrician to get expert care on any concern. She feels a whirlpool of fearful emotions about her ability to protect and care for this baby. You just be h…

This is my $0.02. I am a retired ER doctor. The effects of hormones on emotions, moods, and libido are vastly underestimated. Male hormones are very simple. Testosterone. If it is too low, we add some. Female hormones are complex. Ratios of estrogen to progesterone and testosterone. Visiting with someone who specializes in female hormones and sexual function can be very helpful.

nice work. Find a good attorney and meet face to face to discuss your preparation for the end of your marriage. A good attorney will have a list of things you need to do ASAP. Once you are positioned for the divorce, you can serve her. Delays or inaction on divorce preparation will cost you greatly. Once you have a divorce agreement signed you can be as generous as feels appropriate. Until you have a divorce agreement in place you are just a beggar hoping for mercy.
