Pure entertainment. Exactly why I read posts on theotherwoman, NameNerdsCirclejerk, ShitAmericansSay, tragedeigh, and similar subreddits. I'm mostly here to laugh at fools and go on with my day.

Only once, from what I can remember. It was a lifestyle mismatch because she doesn't want to settle down/have a steady boyfriend just yet, but she kept shooting for men who wanted commitment. She's now taken herself off the apps.

your child is autistic, so what That's not the only risk. The others, according to the paper: "diseases, including autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and paediatric leukaemia, have been linked to the father’s advanced years." Plus "stillbirths, spontaneous abortions, preterm births, and low birth weight." Hardly a picnic, if you ask me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't know why Redditors need to bring "psychologically optimal" psychobabble into situations that are wholly emotional/sexual. Most relationships involve some sort of "age gap", albeit one much shorter than the example in your post. The specifics are up to the couple — some people (like my mum & dad) will opt for a larger age gap relationship, while others (like my husband & I) won't. it’s really my main argument here to prove age gaps are biologically optimal That's a hard sell when science …

It's also why some men here assume ALL attractive men (i.e. "Chads" in their eyes) are terrible people. Or that they ALL cheat. They see a few attractive arseholes being successful with women, then generalise that to "hurr durr, women like aggressive and violent Chads, instead of nice guys like me". Like, sure, pretty privilege extends to men, too — more breaking news at 10, folks!
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 07:23 AM

They're the human equivalent of fruit flies. Annoying, will latch onto anything sweet, and mostly come out during bikini season.

Because, more often than not, overweight people are unattractive. The examples you’ve provided are outliers, who maintain a decent WHR. But, for every Ashley Graham, you likely have hundreds of people who'd look CONSIDERABLY more attractive at a lower weight.

I can believe that men will also simp for average/slightly below-average women, but I doubt they genuinely simp for unattractive women.

As long as she's moderately attractive, there will be men willing to give their attention to her and cater to her for validation, approval, and sex. And this is solely men's fault. A good chunk of men would sell their own mother for a chance at some hot woman glancing his way. This level of sheer desperation is a turn-off. If your attraction boils down to "I'll bend over backwards for a hot gf/wife 🫪😢", then you're not exactly a high-value man. It's unlikely you'll ever be a contender for women …

The more selective you become, the easier it is for normal imperfections to become exit conditions rather than issues to work through. This implies that being "selective" is restricted to superficial traits. It's not. Both my husband and I have reasonable standards, and many of the factors we selected were about compatibility. Basically, someone with: Good money management, A stable job, with a desire to move up the career ladder, Love for travel (and the means to do so), A regular exercise/gym …

I wouldn't either, but I'm pointing out that some men on this subreddit are VERY height-obsessed. Of course these 40yo women are going to bring up their husbands' heights if PPD men are obsessed with height-based questions.

Discussing penis size is a real WTF, but I semi-regularly have PPDers asking me how tall my husband is. See: Exhibit A. It's also one reason why I've turned my DMs off. Maybe take up the height thing with all the height-obsessed men here. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You don't mention average (or, as it sounds like, below-average) men in your top comment: I genuinely believe that if women had to experience life as a man, having the lived experience of the attention they got as a woman, they'd kill themselves within a year. As your point currently stands, you're wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 08:55 AM

Cause most men you know aren't all men . Obviously. Where did I say they were? My point is that PPD rhetoric about how much men's lives supposedly suck is weird... and doesn't match the lived experience of any men I know.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 08:43 AM

Why, though? Most of the men I know are highly educated, attractive, financially secure, and well-travelled. And yes, very popular with women. If I woke up in one of their bodies tomorrow, life would be a blast.

Nah, this sub is great entertainment. It's like watching My 600-lb Life, but with people even less motivated to improve their lives. (And basically a similar brand to the other woman and adultery subs, but with fewer hogs fighting over pig swill.)

I'm only here for the entertainment value. Very rarely, I'll come across posts/comments that change my perspective on things. However, I reckon a good chunk of people here DON'T want to "be more understanding and self-aware and better with dating dynamic, expectations, experience and all". Imho, there's a LOT of whining on this subreddit... and I have zero sympathy for people who do nothing but whinge, whine, and moan. I get abuses here and that doesn't coincide with women irl who get concerned about it which I don't understand. To be honest, many people online are weirdly confident about being complete arseholes. And obviously, strangers on a subreddit for debating dating dynamics are going to behave very differently from your coworkers. Women can smell a virgin from miles I've genuinely never heard anyone say this. If you can link to at least three exact quotes from this subreddit, I'm willing to believe you. Women here say that if we as a guy are single, it's our fault that we are at fault. This isn't gender-specific. If a man or woman is unwillingly single, they're doing something wrong. Either they need to get in shape, date more proactively, or work on whatever else is hindering them from finding a partner. Women here say t…

In a perfect world, whoever initiated the date would pick up the tab, irrespective of whether they're a man or a woman. However, that's not what happens in practice. Men are very happy to pay the bill if they think you're hot (or if they assume sex will be forthcoming). This has led some women to assume that men picking up the tab is standard, not a personal preference. Why are you allowed to dodge your part of the traditional asymmetric gendered social contract of hereosexual dating while men h…

No dog breed is "bad" — it all depends on the owner. Too many people like the look of certain breeds, but lack the brains, time, energy, and money to properly train and socialise their dogs. (I grew up with GSDs, and they're a LOT of work.) I knew a couple who bought a Belgian Malinois, expecting this high-energy dog to magically transform into a couch potato, just because its owners are lazy AF. Surprise, surprise! The dog turned into a destructive escape artist.

do you have little to no sympathy for men? I have sympathy for people (men and women), but that sympathy isn't endless. Whether that's going to therapy, heading to the gym, or switching jobs, there's only so much someone else can do for you. They, for some reason REVEL in the idea of men not having sex, it excites them No? I don't care if random men have sex or not, provided they aren't harming anyone. I don't care what random women do either. I'm not American, but some EU countries (like the Netherlands) offer visas for registered partners. Women don't have an issue with European men dating or marrying foreign women, because there's a proper system in place here, ensuring they come over legally and aren't a burden to society. These…

We shouldn't incentive young heterosexuals to have relationships Honestly, if society has learnt anything from preaching abstinence, it's that lecturing people about things doesn't work. Life... finds a way. It'd be more productive to destigmatise the decision to stay single (or opt out of having kids). I don't think everyone necessarily wants a partner (or kids), and there shouldn't be societal shame for people treading their own path.

I've lived in many different parts of the world. Online, one side complains about microaggressions and feeling fat-shamed. The other side has no access to legal abortions, is generally controlled by their husbands/families, and isn't afforded the same societal benefits as men. So yes, when Western liberal feminists whine about "feeling fat-shamed", it comes across as nonsensical, radical feminism to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 03:03 PM

I don’t think you know what radical feminism is. All the “issues” you listed are liberal feminism talking points. So... basically the same thing, then? From the POV of someone who doesn't espouse basic Western feminism, most of your movements sound bizarre AF. Also there’s no such as being “fuckzoned” or “friendzoned”. Where did I say there was? They're both made-up struggles by people who lack accountability.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 12:00 PM

Oh, many. Radical feminism has completely lost the plot. The Fat Acceptance/Health at Every Size bullshit encourages gullible women to stay overweight and morbidly obese. Laziness and gluttony are suddenly reframed as "empowering" (if you don't believe me, just Google Virgie Tovar and Tess Holliday). I also hate the lack of accountability in feminist spaces. If every single man a woman dates is terrible, if she keeps getting fuckzoned, or if she can't attract the sort of man she wants, people sp…

Those were three examples, out of countless others that could have been made. I've already proven that women do NOT go for "different flavour of 1 group of men" (which is a rather bizarre oxymoron). You're avoiding my questions. Either answer them, or admit that you don't have a point.

Any sources for this? I mean... do you need a source to confirm that Leonardo DiCaprio, a frat boy, and some 30yo office worker earning an average salary are in three VERY different groups? Which one is more accessible to a woman looking to settle down? Which one is more attractive to a hot, aspiring sugar baby?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/26 11:11 AM

If we assume this person "is of average attractiveness", their success rate will solely depend on what their "ideal partner" looks like. (And whether they're looking for hookups or relationships.) Some rich and famous film star: sex/commitment would be pretty much impossible. A very hot guy with loads of options: short-term hookups would be easy, but commitment would be tricky. A regular guy (i.e. a middle-class man of average attractiveness): both are very likely. Knowing how men think may be a…

Your problem is assuming people are a monolith. The definition of a "good man" will vary depending on the woman you're talking to: To a sugar baby, it'll likely refer to an older, wealthy man with a provider mindset. Looks aren't a major consideration. To a woman who likes hookups, it'll probably be a hot man who's good in the sack. It doesn't matter if he's poor or capable of "building something lasting". To a woman who wants to settle down, long-term compatibility and shared goals take priorit…

Body > face. Most people are quite average facially. Having a hot body definitely raises your overall attractiveness, unless you're quite unattractive facially. For example, when faced with two choices, a good chunk of people would likely choose a butterface over a morbidly obese person with a stunning face.

If you're talking about this subreddit or other internet forums, I think the issue is that some men agenda-post towards women and get some vague platitudes in return (or a bunch of women ranting at them). "Why can't you lust after average men?" isn't a good question. "What are some qualities/physical attributes you're personally attracted to in men?" might offer you better answers. Be specific, and you're more likely to get actionable advice. And let's be honest... you should also consider advic…

What exactly do you want us to debate here? Of all the hot men I know, most are in relationships or having a blast playing the field. The same applies to the hot women I know. It's obvious that if you want to lock down the "free" ones, you need to be attractive yourself and in the same social circles.

People can be WEIRD about sunscreen. I burn if I'm not consciously reapplying 55+ SPF, and the number of people I know who assume it's unnecessary is genuinely wild. "But you're young, you don't need to worry about sun spots." No thanks!

I'd be less concerned about his spending and more concerned about his financial health, attitude towards saving, assets, etc. At the very least, those would need to match mine. I've met men who earn well, but live so beyond their means that they have sweet f-all in savings/investments. That'd be a massive ick, irrespective of how much this hypothetical man earns. And I don't care about a man being "assertive, protective, and dominant".
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/26 06:16 AM

And instead of working on things you CAN improve, you're making excuses on Reddit. <image>
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 03:47 PM

I can't change your view, because I agree! Honestly, a good chunk of people struggling to date just aren't good options. It's harsh, but men/women who sit on their arses and complain 24/7 about their dating life only have themselves to blame. When I wasn't attracting the men I wanted, I threw my energy into self-improvement. So I have zero sympathy for lazy sods who expect "Chad" or "Stacy" status with zero work.

there's also a common trope of women leaving their highschool boyfriends that they loved and grew up with, as soon as they enter the real world and suddenly have 1000s of options There's also a common trope of men leaving their "starter wives" as soon as they get rich and famous. Just as some men are likely to ditch their wives for the next best option, some women are likely to do the same. Humans aren't a monolith, so the fact that some men or women do X doesn't mean we ALL do.

Where did I say men should be able to stalk and harass anyone? Because you didn't read my original comment. I said: "I don't care, as long as a guy isn't harassing me, following me around a supermarket, or trying to follow me home." To anyone with half a brain: most of us get looked at, and we don't care. Revealing clothing isn't being fully nude but it still evokes a reaction. And I'm if course not excusing "wild animal" behaviour. My dogs are trained not to steal food off my plate, even if I leave the room. What does it say about some men, if they have far less self-control than a dog? And if you're arguing against the concept of "you can look, but don't touch/stalk/harass", I'm going to assume that you're excusing wild animal behaviour.

seeing revealed breasts and asses Do you live on a nude beach or something? Most women don't walk around with "revealed breasts and asses". I've had men try to follow me home while I was wearing trousers and loose-fitting linen or cotton shirts (i.e. office wear). That's not "half naked". Most women don't have issues with men "admiring these features" — we have issues with men acting like wild animals.

I disagree that "most women" are creeped out by porn. Porn addicts, sure — but not porn. A lot of female subreddits and armchair psychologists love to scream how "ALL PORN IS EVIL! AND BAD!!", but that's a clear case of a demographic of smug, self-righteous people screeching the loudest. Most videos on BookTok deal with erotica, and a big chunk of women admit to watching porn. Would Fifty Shades of Grey be so popular if all women were prudes? I doubt it.

This comes across as a massive generalisation, based on a percentage of men with no social skills. Most of my flatmates at uni were guys, and a good chunk of them loved solo travelling. They always made friends on their travels (and no, they weren't "Chads", either).

/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 03:55 PM

That's more of a "Body Positivity" or "Health at Every Size" thing. Many vocal body positivity activists like Virgie Tovar and Tess Holliday think that promoting "healthy lifestyles and exercising" is a form of hate speech. And, as feminism advocates for bodily autonomy, they're well within their rights to eat themselves towards heart failure, diabetes, and morbid obesity. Just as I'm well within my rights to exercise and eat healthily. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm not really BP, but I think men's attractiveness is a mix of both. Individual women will weigh the importance of innate vs. built attractiveness differently. In other words, it's really hard to generalise, because an aspiring trophy wife (for example) is going to view attractiveness differently from the average woman. To the aspiring trophy wife, wealth and status matter a LOT more than a man's looks. The average woman is going to want an even mix of the two: looks and financial stability.

I'd say my preferences are pretty rock-solid. Would your standards slowly recalibrate so that you’d end up finding 20% of the remaining men attractive instead? The availability of men who meet my preferences has never affected what I find attractive. I've always preferred tall (6ft+), toned, conventionally attractive men, even when I lived in/visited countries where the average man was nowhere close to that. Why do many men find a clumsy, socially awkward, maladjusted woman acceptable for casual sex, but women don’t? Because a lot of men have low standards for casual sex. If a woman is sexually available, they don't really mind if she's unattractive, overweight, or just a mess — there's no emotional component. Women are much pickier when it comes to casual sex, due to safety factors and the danger of pregnancy. Most of us probably won't risk it for someone we don't find sexually attractive.

Every day: retinol, moisturisers, and loads of sunscreen. I also get facials, and very regular high-frequency treatments to keep my skin clear. Probably going to get Botox in a few years, plus some filler in my tear troughs and nasolabial folds.

Women seem to dislike clear communication, its a turnoff for them No, some women genuinely find direct men super hot. For example, my friends and I loved dating in the Netherlands, because a lot of men there are upfront and refreshingly straightforward. That open communication is one of many reasons why I married my husband. Your problem is equating autism (or a general lack of social cues) with 'clear communication', which are two different things.

From your perspective, how real is this pattern? [...] I’m looking for honest, experience-based answers Sure, it may apply to a few women. But it really isn't a widespread pattern, at least not in the way Reddit likes to claim. In my life, my husband is the hottest man I've ever dated, so I personally can't agree with 'Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks' as a rule. And let me clarify: my standards for men are ridiculously high and all the men I've dated met them (6ft+, good career, conventionally attractiv…

/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/26 11:34 PM

Well, I've seen a man on the internet rate Megan Fox a 6.5 and Margot Robbie a 5. Two very objectively hot women, I might add. And that's why I don't have sympathy when men complain about hot chicks turning them down. If certain men genuinely think hot women are average... it's 100% likely they're shooting well out of their league.

Sorry, but you went to AskFeminism as a man with 'critique' and expected them to welcome it? Are you new to Reddit? 🤣 Certain women-centric subreddits don't even want women who disagree with them there, so a man stepping in with unwanted 'critique' will likely get his post removed. I'm surprised it's taken you this long to figure it out.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/26 06:48 PM

Why tf do yall eat such boring food It's not boring if it's seasoned properly. And you can still have cheat days, as long as you're maintaining CICO. 'Boring food' also tends to give me more energy than food with excessive carbs, so I'm not constantly snacking throughout the day or getting tired halfway through a workout.

He takes care of me when I'm ill or tired, and I do the same for him when he's ill or tired. If you genuinely think it's 'ridiculous' for women to love and take care of th…

Honestly, I like hearing different viewpoints. I find TwoX and AskWomenNoCensor quite sanctimonious and cliquey sometimes, so PPD is a real breath of fresh air. Sure, there are some terrible takes sometimes, but there are also plenty of commenters and posters I can agree with. What responses from men do you really long for [...] ? I'd like some men to stop assuming that every discussion is an argument to 'win'. Especially if their strategy for debating is being aggressive (or 'woe is me') and at…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 04:48 PM

That you simply fail at being whats expected of you at every opportunity Honestly, that'd be VERY difficult to do. Desperate simps will go for any woman, even if she's 400lbs, has no job, and shouts at him all the time. How can you fail in that situation?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 01:44 PM

Unpopular opinion, but some definitely want to date married men. You just need to check out r/theotherwoman for countless stories of women choosing to have multi-year relationships with married men. However, other factors you're not considering is that married men are capable of lying about their marital status, and that some single women genuinely prefer staying single.

I think the men who desire 'a small percentage of the population' aren't the same guys complaining about being unable to attract women. There are some men on this subreddit who are honest about their high standards, and a LOT of men I know IRL are quite open and self-aware about the fact their standards are high. They all seem to be successful with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 01:07 PM

How did you come to that conclusion? It wouldn't bother me at all if I were 'filtered out' during the dating stage for not being submissive, or an excellent cook, or housewife/SAHM material. That man and I would clearly be looking for different things, and I 100% respect a person who sticks to their standards and doesn't lead people on.

How do you know women have never met the men they base their 'standards' on? How do you know these men don't exist? You thinking it's delusional for women to want a man who's emotionally intelligent, over six feet, plans every date, stays loyal, never gets angry, never gets tired, treats her like a princess 24/7... etc., doesn't make it delusional if there are women actually dating these men. My husband meets most of your dumb criteria, and last I checked, he's not 'Santa Claus'. You're also con…

It's a mutual reward — or, rather, a perk of being with a spouse you find hot AF. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I look forward to having sex with him, and he looks forward to having sex with me.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 04:13 PM

I don't know what's worse: that someone created this stupid skit for attention, or the hundreds of needy, low self-esteem women admitting they actually demean themselves with this shit. I feel like I need to go take a shower and wash the secondhand embarrassment off.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 05:16 PM

Best partner, hands down. (I'm a woman.) Judging by the posts on this subreddit, men only value 'good sex' up to a point. When it comes to women who are only good at sex (and not so-called wife/girlfriend material), they tend to be fuckzoned by these men. Besides, anyone can become better at sex. Growing as a couple also means discovering each other's kinks and sexual fantasies, and that can take 'average sex' to 'great sex'.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:21 PM

Tbh, you're more likely to see complaints about online dating because the successful daters just get on with their lives. The people who spend AGES on the apps with zero success and complain about it are either incredibly unlucky, unattractive, or have horrible personalities. For example, a 300lbs aggressive vegan is more likely to complain about dating apps than the average, fit 20yo woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 01:41 PM

Was the '23' a typo?? But seriously, he'd look MUCH better if he: fixed his hair (or just shaved it all off), fixed his teeth, lost some weight, got toned, and picked some more flattering glasses.

Some do, yes. But that's the nature of (internet) echo chambers: angry, bitter people find other angry, bitter people who agree with them. I see plenty of women who push back against the 'we hate men' narrative, just as I see men who disagree with the 'we hate women' narrative. I mean, I'm doing that right now, and I'm hardly the only woman who thinks that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/26 06:00 PM

Nope, and I've never said that all PPD men hate women. Some PPDers have genuinely admitted to hating women or have argued that hating women is acceptable in certain scenarios (example from earlier today), but I don't think they're representative of all the men here. Years ago, I responded to a post on TwoX on my old account about what I'd do for my husband (then boyfriend) if he was having a bad day. One guy read my response and was PISSED that I'd have the audacity to: ask my partner what's bothering him, cook him a 'cheer-up' meal, and offer him a blowie. He exploded in my DMs, telling me that this is typical narcissistic women behaviour, where we make things all about ourselves. Anyway, I went to the guy's profile and 99% of his comments were on PPD. /r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 09:40 AM

Why are you surprised? I think it's human nature for people to want attractive partners, even if they're average or below average themselves. And, while reality often breaks the fantasy, there are enough simps out there for this woman to actually land a fit guy.

He'd probably be called into HR for taking his shirt off at work. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But let's assume you had an actual example that could work in practice: most women don't care if other women find their man hot, as long as their partner is faithful. And, for a few of us, it's an ego boost.

Tbh, depending on where you live, nightclubs in big cities may have dress codes. I've gone out clubbing in the dead of winter, and while it's freezing outside, it's typically hot AF inside. Crazy stereotypes. I get that some men may not understand women's sexuality, but I've also found a lot of stereotypes perpetuated by other women, too. My one major grievance with subs like TwoX and AskWomenNoCensor is that they allow certain posters to make definitive claims about women's sexuality. There's also a LOT of kink-shaming there, and treating horniness like a PickMe trait.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 10:23 PM

I agree with you! And honestly, I'm confused by the performative concern some people have under this post. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I get that OP and some other commenters clearly dislike picky women (which is their prerogative), but I don't know why they're so worked up by something that's none of their business. Unless these women are physically breaking down their doors to complain, this is such a non-issue. Hell, I'd even advise men to start being pickier. /r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 07:49 PM

I mean, I agree that it can be obnoxious. But what's the solution to your example? Say someone's morbidly obese and they're aiming for people who aren't attracted to their body type. A random Reddit comment about leagues is more likely to piss a sensitive person off than make them contemplate the fact that certain qualities are probably holding them back. Which comes back to my point: people are allowed to be picky. The dating world can be cruel to some picky people, but that comes with the terr…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 05:00 PM

It doesn't bother me, tbh. I've met both men and women who vastly overestimated their looks. It's like the Dunning-Kruger effect, but for looks instead of cognitive ability. At the end of the day, it's their life and they can believe the sky's neon green if they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 04:35 PM

Okay, say we ask that question. What then? Is she going to read a random Reddit comment and think, "Yep, I definitely need to lower my standards and date my looksmatch, who's definitely obese and unkempt, just because Reddit thinks so." People are allowed to be picky. If people's pickiness annoys you, just block them. I block people all the time when I CBA to deal with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 04:19 PM

I don't understand the issue here. What am I (or women in general) supposed to do if a woman you find unattractive is picky? I'm sure that plenty of people I find unattractive are picky, but I'd never date them anyway, so... who cares? At the end of the day, no one's owed a relationship. Some people are definitely going to struggle when it comes to dating, and there's nothing other people can say or do to fix it. It's a personal journey.

Tbh, you're welcome to think that every woman on PPD is 48-year-old, obese single mother. With or without 3 jailbird baby daddies — but that's totally up to your imagination. The point is, words aren't particularly offensive. Lonely or insecure people lash out to make themselves feel better all the time, and if you're not an insecure person it's quite funny to read.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/25 08:11 PM

I'm a woman and this would annoy the shit out of me. Is it possible that growing up alongside people who regularly disrespected your boundaries has made you more susceptible to dating women who also walk all over your boundaries? In the case of PPD, there seem to be LOADS of insecure, unhappy people lashing out. (And trolls — can't forget the trolls.) Take this guy's comments to various Redditors on this subreddit, for example. Does this strike you as a person who wants a civil convo... or is he just a miserable person trying to make everyone else equally miserable? 'Most of these women suffer from “Not bigger than the vag” problem they ain’t all that cool without a vag so people don’t want to invest in them after sex.' …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:59 AM

Some do, and it's typically a sign of insecurity or a cry for attention. I used to know a woman like this — she was incredibly insecure, and assumed that if she could 'steal' a man from a more attractive woman, she'd be 'better', 'hotter', and 'sexier'. To date, however, she hasn't managed to steal anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 09:03 PM

Respectfully, the issue here is generalising 'some women' to equal 'all or most women'. Sure, some women don't view sex as a priority. Then you've got a whole bunch of women (like me) who view sex and sexual attraction as absolute must-haves. In terms of women's attitudes to sex, there's a whole spectrum out there. If you don't want to be settled for sexually, date and marry a woman who loves sex as much as you do— and loves having sex with you. If she isn't enthusiastic, then she isn't the one …
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 05:59 PM

How do you navigate this considering the first friends feelings? Everyone has crushes, and grown adults know how to handle rejection. I shouldn't be expected to 'keep the PDA down' or keep my relationship 'hidden entirely' just because someone else might feel disappointed. If the situation were reversed (and yes, I've been there, too), the onus would be on me to handle my feelings — not my friend/flatmate.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 05:37 PM

That's valid. I'd much prefer being single to being with someone who doesn't match my standards. But I definitely wouldn't complain about it or be unable to match those standards myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 10:44 AM

I think everyone should have REALISTIC standards. If you're a fit and health-conscious man or woman, it makes sense to have similar standards for your partner. And any standards are fine if you're realistic about the likelihood of meeting someone who ticks every single box. It's whiny and annoying when people have massively unrealistic standards, then complain about being unable to find a partner.

Women ARE the finish line. While I agree with the points you're making, the issue with generalisations like this is that you're phrasing things as though ALL women (or women in general) are 'trophies'. Like men, some women aren't worth your time, energy, or money. I see a number of men pedestalising these kinds of women on Reddit, then moaning about their terrible experiences. (Like... no shit, Sherlock.) Or, worse, generalising this crap behaviour to all women. We should really be assessing par…

Are they prepared to be judged the same way they judge others? Yes and no. I don't have standards for my fiancé that I'm unable to meet. But I wouldn't give a shit about judgment from random other people, even if they're prepared to 'judge' me.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/25 04:43 PM

Some of them are greatly exaggerated, yes. That being said, I have met some men who've been settled for. The common denominator there is that they had zero standards or boundaries — they were desperate for ANY woman, even if she turned out to be an abusive narcissist. And sure, it's not nice to be lonely. But putting effort into self-improvement or building a career or [insert hobby here] is far better than chasing women who are clearly not worth any time/effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 05:45 PM

The vast majority of heterosexual women want to be approached. Yes and no. I'm sorry to be blunt, but there's a HUGE difference between a(n attractive and charismatic) man shooting his shot respectfully, and some rando pestering a woman into giving him her number. Plus, there are also multiple locations where most women prefer not to be approached. If you're talking about men 'not pushing boundaries enough', you're advocating for men in the second category — in which case, the default advice is …
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 05:04 PM

I'm not sure what we're supposed to be debating? If your point is that some women are absolute rubbish at giving dating advice to men, that's 100% true. Some men are equally terrible at giving dating advice to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 03:23 PM

all the women I’ve met are very vanilla No offence, but you're literally a virgin. I find it super ironic that you're out here calling random people vanilla, when you've got no sexual experience. While some women will 'fake it' for bad lovers, this isn't so prevalent that almost every single woman you come across finds it normal. Tbh, if you have niche kinks, you're better off finding partners on apps like Fetlife. But, depending on the kink, we'd probably expect you to have some experience first — so being a virgin will very likely count against you. Same story with the whole 'waiting until marriage' thing. What reward is there as a women doing everything right? Why does there need to be a 'reward' for that? To me, that'd be like giving someone a participation trophy for being a functional adult. Both men and women face 'issues with dating', so us suddenly being the dominant sex wouldn't really solve anything — we'd just have a host of new issues to deal with. (And vice versa, if we're talking about men.)

I find it ironic that you typed this out to another commenter: why are you do hung up on who I find or don’t find attractive? But you seem to think women finding you unattractive is this MAJOR issue that desperately needs to be addressed. Just like you have an age preference, some women have preferences for height, age, looks... etc. You can either get over it, or continue to wallow in self-pity. Either way, it's not society's problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/25 09:34 AM

Sucks to be RP, then. In another comment, you complain about women 'fawning over height'... which is ridiculously vague. I don't know how people this sensitive navigate society, when you're out here imagining things to be offended by. Get a grip, honestly. EDIT: I repeat, get a grip. You've made three replies to me whinging about being unattractive (I assume?). Consider putting that energy into the gym, instead.

You'll have to ask the women who care, instead of posing this as a question to women in general. Personally, I'm pretty indifferent to people (men and women) who rate themselves as unattractive/'bottom 50%' and refuse to do anything about it. If they don't care, why should I? I just opt not to date them.

As with anything on the internet, the loudest voices are often from the fringe. Lots of women (myself included) view sexual compatibility as a requirement, and I daresay that's the norm. Those who hate sex are going to be much more vocal on Reddit, because they can't exactly walk up to random people IRL and pop off about sex being unimportant.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 07:46 PM

Maybe this is a boring take, but ALL internet spaces have at least some men/women with a whiny victim complex. It's pretty much human nature for some people to go, "I'm not the problem! Everybody else is just mean and wrong!"
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 03:58 PM

It doesn't matter if I have an opinion on it being 'kosher' or not — at the end of the day, it's not my business. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn't like much older men hitting on me at 18 (I'm in my 20s and I still don't), but I can only enforce boundaries for what I will or won't accept in a relationship. I can't make that choice for other people.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 12:10 PM

I think everyone's entitled to their own preferences. If you only want to date fit people, or people in their 20s, or virgins, or millionaires... it's your choice. But choices don't exist in a vacuum. If you're morbidly obese and you're angry that fitness models don't want you, that's your problem and not society's. It's the same story if you're broke and no one wants to fund your lifestyle, or if you're solely attracted to one age group or demographic and they don't want you.

I mean people are their real self when they are anonymous . Are they? You're saying that if I created a new Reddit account tomorrow, pretending to be a 6'6" millionaire named Chad (with hundreds of ex-girlfriends), you'd take everything I say at face value? Like I said, that's naïve. Yes but these are outliers. Okay, if they're outliers, then why do you care? By nature, an outlier isn't the norm. Honestly, I'd prefer some comfortable middle ground. In an ideal world, we'd all 'take care of ourselves' in the practical sense: regular exercise, healthy meals, great hygiene, solid skincare routines, a good sense of style... etc. I do all of this (as does my fiancé) and these are perfectly achievable standards, so I think it's reasonable to expect the people in my 'ideal world' to do the same.

I think we would all be a lot happier if we had a crystal ball where we could see ahead of time that a woman is hypocritical and has double standards Or... these kinds of men can raise their standards, stand by their boundaries, and dump hypocritical women. at the first red flag they can find another attractive man easily You're operating under the assumption that younger women can always effectively spot red flags. That's not the case — if anything, younger women are MUCH worse at spotting red flags. As a woman in her 20s, I remember friends and coworkers putting up with absolutely horrendous behaviour from men, because they didn't have the relationship experience to identify glaring red flags. It's a lot more common than you think.

Why women are afraid to say that they find attractive men attractive? As a woman, I'm always honest about my preferences. However, I've seen the way people dogpile on women who specify they want tall men, or fit men, or [insert quality here] men. Instead of listening to women's answers, you get an outpouring of "women only want Chad!" or "women only go for the top 10% of men!"... which is just exhausting and incredibly boring to read/listen to.

I'm not a liar, so I wouldn't call someone "attractive" if I don't find them attractive. But I don't really go around calling everyone and their mum "attractive" to hype them up, so I'm not sure if I'm the right demographic here.

it is far more common for rich and high status men to marry or date low income women That's a small demographic of men. You can't look at a tiny subsection of relationships and generalise that to the general public. The "low income" women in these scenarios are usually hot, young, and... did I mention hot? In those cases, it's a mutually beneficial relationship where the man gets to have sex with a woman he finds desirable, and the woman gets money/status. They're not "poor men" — they WANT thes…

And? Why do some men on the internet care so much about what internet strangers think? This sort of shaming happens to women too, fyi. I'm a woman of average height who prefers tall (≧6ft) men. Plenty of men on Reddit seem to think that's terrible — and I've even had nasty messages sent to my previous account about how I'm going to end up a bitter, washed-up cat lady. Hilarious stuff, really. No one who's secure in their preferences would actually care.

But where are they saying this, though? This is very "I'm online 24/7" rhetoric, because very few people IRL give a shit if someone thinks their preference is "-phobic" — or bother to assign a label to the fact preferences exist. I've honestly been rejected by a guy for being too short here in the Netherlands (165cm tall woman), but at no point was it "heightphobic". I've also rejected men for varying other reasons. No BS internet labels were required.

You're so wrong it's hilarious. You can think whatever you want to pander to your ego, but if we really like a guy, we won't be dragged away that easily. We'll tell our friends to keep dancing and that we'll join them in a bit, and then we'll keep talking to the guy we like.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/24 03:04 PM

Why are you shaming men for expressing their sexuality? If men calling older women "dried up" and "ugly" is "expressing their sexuality", then me finding men who do that disgusting and ugly is ME "expressing my sexuality". By your logic, stop telling me how to express my sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/23 11:46 PM

Very true. Some of them are also far less likely to take 'no' for an answer or try to find ways to work around our 'no', because they think youth equals naïveté and we can be fooled into saying 'yes' if they try hard enough.

I'm a young woman and I don't hate all gap relationships. Plenty of people with age gaps meet organically, fall in love, and then marry. My parents are just one example. For example, it's sad to see women who want to be married having 2-3 kids with different men, hoping that this will win them an engagement/stability in the relationship. Do Women Discriminate against Men in Education or Medical Fields? Sure. There are also women who discriminate against certain women, men who discriminate against women, and men who discriminate against certain men. As a personal anecdote, I've experienced my fair share of male/female c*nts in the workplace, so I believe workplace c*ntery and discrimination definitely aren't exclusive to one gender. My personal belief is society does not care for broken men Honestly, it's a bit naïve to think soc…

How would you define “a hobby”? An activity you love doing, even if you aren't Olympic-level skilled at it. And do people really count traveling as a hobby? It depends. Some people genuinely love exploring the world and, for them, it'd definitely be a hobby (albeit an expensive one). People I know that fit the bill are passionate about it and full of great insights, even if they haven't circumnavigated the globe a million times or gone to 'popular' travel destinations. Others book a 'visit Europ…

Why is it that it’s socially acceptable for women to enhance their attractiveness Is it, though? Plenty of people bitch and moan about fake tits/huge lips/BBLs. And, when badly done, all those things can SERIOUSLY detract from someone's overall attractiveness. I think we all have an aversion to fakeness, but men are more willing to accept it for sexual reasons (eg: gigantic tits being acceptably fake if it means he can fuck the woman they belong to).

who keeps telling you men that women don't prioritise looks? Sure, other things count, but we're not aliens from Mars. Reading comprehension, my dude. ⬆️ Having a personality = "other things count". However, having an amazing personality won't necessarily score you any points if you're morbidly obese or are a below-average guy shooting for a super-hot woman. That's my whole point.

Please answer this honestly: what's wrong with telling men to be more affectionate with each other or to seek professional help for their mental health crises? Everyone should have a circle of friends they can rely on and a health professional they can see if things come to it. Women do this, so why are these "lonely" men incapable of doin…

Do men complain less about being used than women? Online? Both sexes do an insane amount of complaining about something that's so stupidly preventable. It's like choosing to insert a bat up one's rectum and then being shocked if one happens to have rabies. In real life? No, I've barely noticed people complaining. Or perhaps that's because the people I interact with tend to have strong boundaries and know that they're fully in control of whether or not they're "used".

It's not a double standard. Women who want tall men should be free to date tall men — just as men who want slim women should be free to date slim women. It happens all the time in real life and those of us who date within our preferences don't care about external validation. But hint at asking about any weight, immediately you're an asshole who has no sympathy I mean... who cares? If someone's not your preference, just unmatch/stop seeing them and move on with your life.

Virginity only matters to me if the reason they're a virgin is because of some traditional/religious/cultural belief. I'm pretty irreligious and I think "because my culture tells me to" is a bullshit reason to do (or not do) something, so we'd be incompatible if those are reasons why they're a virgin. On the other hand, I wouldn't date someone who's slept with dozens of people either. They probably aren't too picky about their partners, which would also suggest we're incompatible.

Cold approaching women is seen as 'shallow' and 'objectifying' Facts: cold approaching is only "shallow" or "objectifying" if you're ugly/low average, uncharismatic and/or have the social awareness of an awkward toddler as a guy. The men that have the most trouble with cold approaches suffer from one or more of these issues — and these are the cold approaches that women notice and complain about. The others? They're either successful or don't whine about a few misses.

Do you take men not dating or opting out (even temporarily) personally? Why would I? I think that men temporarily opting out of the dating game to work on their job, hobbies, appearance, or mental health is a good thing. Too many men make "having a girlfriend" their top priority, find some awful losers, and then either marry these chicks out of desperation or vent about all women online. If you'd disagree with the notion that most women are 10/10 super-ultra-hotties, then rating them 3/3 is bonkers. Moreover, there are hot men that not all women would fuck. A woman who sleeps around a lot can carry STDs. So can a man. People of any gender that sleep around, have unsafe sex, and don't get tested regularly are disgusting and could be passing their STDs onto people. Men requiring sexual purity from women is a standard similar to women requiring men to be handsome. It's not an either-or decision. As a low-n-count woman, my type is handsome guys that aren't "community dick". Many of my friends are the same, as guys who've only been intimate with their l…

The only people that get to be validated and comfortable when dating are people that are successful to begin with Untrue. Before I started taking care of my body (I was an underweight "I-can-see-your-ribcage" stick figure), or my skin and hair, or all the other bits and bobs in my control (I used to be a couch potato with no fashion sense), I'd genuinely have rated myself pretty low — and my dating experiences were in line with it. And now? I'm pretty damn comfortable where I am currently, and m…

More hope-with-a-c. The last Chad I dated is my current partner. Come again with that "he didn't want to stay with you" projection?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 08:20 PM

What rubbish. Sure, the average man can't sleep ten hot babes a week, but average men aren't incapable of having casual sex. That's just hope-with-a-c spouted by below-average men trying to LARP for sympathy. And before you accuse me of being a "tally mark", I'm a low n-count woman that doesn't like casual sex.

has the 'sexlessness epidemic' been overblown after all? There was never a "sexless epidemic" for the average guy. However, there's a very vocal minority on Reddit and social media trying to claim that this sexless epidemic exists, so they can blame someone else for their own problems. Typical PPD mentality. 🤦🏻‍♀️ News flash: most women want men that they find hot, who've also got stable jobs, great personalities, and overall compatibility. Are those enough qualifiers for you? And yet, men on this sub whinge and whine about women being "picky" when they vet properly.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/23 05:57 PM

But if they pick based on attractiveness they deprioritize stable traits It's not an either-or decision. Most of us choose partners that we find attractive, who also have desirable traits. Personal anecdotes, rare news stories, or imaginary tales about women that choose their shitty partners SOLELY because they're attractive isn't adequate proof that most women that want an attractive partner will ignore glaring red flags.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/23 05:53 PM

There's no correlation between attractiveness and shittiness. Whilst this sub would like to think all "Chads" are abusive/egotistical pump-and-dumpers, ugly/normal/everything-in-between guys can have the nastiest attitudes and talk/act like they're domestic abusers in training. how many women can say the same? Most of us. While many men still balk at the idea of sunscreen, most women have long, complex, and (in many cases, way too expensive) skincare routines. I went through a lot of effort and physical pain to get to where I am today Yeah, several of us have done the same. I'm not sure what things are like in America but, in this neck of Western Europe, most women don't seem to walk around with a cement-like layer of makeup on their faces. Maybe a bit of mascara, eyeliner, and BB cream/tinted moisturiser, but very little else — at least for everyday wear. I'm also deeply suspicious of anyone claiming to have a bra size of 32I and a BMI of 20. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's definitely very strange and nowhere near every woman's experience.

How many men have you told that "looks don't matter?" None. Looks absolutely matter. You won't get through the doorway of interest unless you're attractive — or, for some people, of average attractiveness. I have, however, come across women saying that looks aren't the only thing women look for. I assume some men have got confused/too hopeful and warped this into "looks don't matter", because no one — other than the most pathetic pick-me — doesn't care about looks.

There's nothing "wrong" with it, but there's very little that makes that goal any more attainable now than when the guy was younger. Why is the question, "What do you bring to the table?" so offensive to some? /r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 12:22 PM

That I can agree with. However, I think higher value men definitely have higher standards for a relationship than just looks — though "attractive" will still be the bare minimum there. Many average men just can't afford to be as picky, or assume they can't.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 01:18 AM

You're using your view on sexuality, a woman's view, to explain to me, a man, how men's sexuality works. If you're under the assumption that hot men don't have their pick of hot women, that's pure cap. 🤣 Why are unsuccessful, average guys here whining about these mythical "Chads" 24/7? Just because you're speaking from the POV of average guys who can't have higher standards for hot chicks doesn't mean that every man is.

You can have both, looks and personality. Exactly — I don't know why this is such a hard concept for some men here to understand.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 12:11 AM

Your man telling you how much he likes your personality is not evidence of literally anything. I mean... it definitely doesn't mean anything to the guys on this subreddit that have never had a woman truly desire them, let alone an attractive woman. But that doesn't change the fact that higher value men know that they've got much higher criteria for a relationship than just "is she hot?". They've got their pick of any hot woman they'd like, so they don't have to settle for the meh ones.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 12:07 AM

Most men believe most women's personality is lackluster at best and put up with it anyways. No — the few sad chaps larping on on this subreddit or whining about most women having shit personalities aren't "most men". (And thank the gods for that.) In the event that a few Redditors scattered about this subreddit speak for "most men", I'll be sure to tell my man that Reddit diagnosed him with Woman BrainTM.

If there's one thing I've learnt from my friends retelling their dating app stories, it's that loads of men and women on the apps are absolute bottom-of-the-barrel, low/no-tier picks. An ex-coworker/friend even had a crazy chick try to bring her kid along on their date. Hard fucking pass! ☠️

I have seen a pattern where when you tell them at the start that you find them cute they respond by saying they got a BF That's also something women tell men when we're single and NOT interested in you. then send your resume as soon as she reopen the BF job offer A little flaw: Attraction doesn't work that way. In fact, this sounds like a great recipe to get a man "friendzoned". Hot girls don't really take their orbiters seriously (as dating prospects), so even if you're on her radar, you're sti…

Watch as a man opens up his pain and frustration about an issue that is not woman approved And where/to whom is he opening up? Within my circle of friends and close colleagues, we're ever ready to provide support, advice — hell, even be a shoulder to cry on — if a guy wants it. Don't expect the same on Reddit or from random strangers. Opening up about a frustration that she can't identify with will get him called a man baby or a whiner and will turn her off. Pointless generalisation. Just a coup…

Would you date someone you wouldn't marry? Nope. Why would I waste time, energy, and affection on someone I'd never see a future with? I may be being idealistic here, but I'd rather be VERY picky with the people I date than waste time on someone who's incompatible.

Why do progressives/BPers make up this grand narrative of homophobia/sexism/etc… when a guy is okay with his partner doing stuff with a girl, but not a guy? I'm not a BPer, but the only time I've heard this being brought up is when the guy in question is angling for a MFF threesome. In which case, it is sexist if the guy wants his dick wet in two different pussies, but refuses to let his partner get off to two dicks. Isn’t a much simpler explanation that girl just can’t make another girl pregnan…

From the post: My husband is an entrepreneur, 15 years older, and he is worth large 7 figures, although not liquid yet. Possibly around $25-30m. [...] Over the last few years, I have had a taste of how awesome life can be when you have some money, like going to nice hotels and just really enjoying life. So she conveniently meets and marries this über-rich older guy who gives her this cushy lifestyle? And she's now worried about not being on par with her husband? Lol!

That doesn't relate to the point I was making at all. This was my point: But here's the thing about "friendzones" and "fuckzones" ——> no one's putting you in them. You can leave at any time, by just getting some self-respect and leaving a situation that doesn't benefit you. It's because the dating market isn't realistic. People get fed the whole "there's someone for everyone" and "love conquers all" bullshit as kids, then get bitter when they realise they aren't owed shit as adults. I don't see a reason to pity lazy people. It’s like hearing a fat girl complain about being fat and also insist she doesn't want to drastically change herself to stop being fat. Looks are NOT close to the most important thing for women Sorry, but no. I can't speak for every woman out there, but all the personality in the world won't make an objectively unattractive man dateable to me. I need to be sexually attracted to someone to be in a relationship with them. so many women (many good looking) are with men who physically resemble James Corden or Zach Galifianakis more so than Jeremy Meeks or "gigachad". Untrue. Either both parties were very attractive to begin with (an…

They just think that's normal sex and it is not. Who decides what "normal sex" is? My partner and I like bondage, CNC, impact play, choking... etc. That's our normal and that's how we enjoy ourselves in the bedroom. You may enjoy more vanilla sex — or any kind that you personally find sexually stimulating — but it's not your job to police how grown adults have sex.

What percentage of the bills would you expect your man to pay if you lived together? If we're talking about rent and utilities and stuff like that, then 50/50. As, in this scenario, we've both got jobs, it's only fair that we share expenses if we live together. If, however, he expects me to do the bulk of the cleaning and cooking, then I'd expect him to pay anywhere from 65% to 80% of the bills.

Similarly, a woman has no right to be offended if a man expects her to have her own money. I don't believe in the concept of "within their league." Frankly, if a man or woman is whining about never being able to attract the sort of partner they're deeply in lust with, then it's fair to say they're shooting out of their league. I think leagues are pretty flexible overall, but if there's a huge disparity in looks and nothing to bridge the gap in personality/interests/education, then one's "league" is going to be pretty evident.

When it comes to relationships women often complain about attractive men. When women complain about being used for sex and not being taken seriously, are they usually talking about attractive men? Are you jealous these attractive men won't sleep with you or what?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/23 12:53 PM

When women complain about being used for sex It's their own fault if they expect a relationship from a man that's told them he won't commit to them. They're not being used. are they usually talking about attractive men? There's nothing stopping ugly men, Average Joes — the entire menagerie — from "using women for sex" if they can. They can also be far more jaded/likely to lash out than attractive men. Whatever point you think you're proving exists solely in your own head.

Women are treated equally here and no bashed for their choices It's the same here in the Netherlands. The dating sphere, in general, has plenty of hypocrites. People that refuse to work on their own attractiveness and get bitter when attractive people won't date them are hypocritical. Out-of-shape/obese people that expect their partners to be fit/of average weight are hypocritical. People that demand equality and refuse to go Dutch on dates/reciprocate are hypocritical.

why are comfort, familiarity, and security themselves anti seductive? They aren't. However, comfort, familiarity, and security on their own won't have women ripping your pants off. Those are merely the foundations that many women expect in a relationship, yet you're not offering the excitement or attraction that'll seduce her into wanting a relationship with you. why do women anecdotally lose all their sexual appetite in LTRs and marriages There's no one-size-fits-all answer for that. Once men get comfortable generally they start paying less attention to us, dates get less frequent, the romance dies down and yet mens expectations stay the same. Not sure what men you're referring to here, but this isn't true of many men. It's true, however, that other priorities may get in the way of "romance" or "couple-time" (i.e. kids, jobs, other stressors... etc.), but it isn't solely one partner's job to fix those — it's a team effort. Besides, even if OP were a neglectful partner, there…

Which would you prefer: a partner who experienced ample love and companionship before they met you or who lived a life of mostly loneliness and frustration? Neither. My partner and I have very grounded and realistic opinions about life and love because we've experienced both ups and downs in past relationships. I wouldn't have it any other way. Tall, fit, good looking, wealthy older men get some of the hottest women on the planet. Agreed. Yet, how many 50yo men are tall, fit, good-looking, and wealthy? It's a tiny percentage — NOT the norm. That's what I addressed here: "Unless he's very successful and has great charisma, a man will hit the SMV wall after a certain age" Women are attracted to exceptional men. Yes. Most men, however, are NOT. (Most women aren't exceptional either). Therefore, for most men, their prime is when they are m…

Most women are more likely to come across an average, out-of-shape 50yo than a "fit multimillionaire in his 50s" (that's a tiny % of men), even though PPDers keep using the latter as an example. Unless he's very successful and has great charisma, a man will hit the SMV wall after a certain age and won't be as attractive to hot young women as he was when he was younger, despite what the PC police PPDers will tell you.

Dropping 20lbs, fixing your teeth with braces, and going from glasses to contacts could bring a guy from a 5 to an 8 (assuming other features are reasonable and he's not 5'6"). This is very true. And yet, the few times I've seen advice like this dropped in a thread by women, it's been downvoted to the very bottom. I'm assuming that's by PPD women that don't want to seem "shallow" (despite that not necessarily being a bad thing) or men that don't want to/are unable to change.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/23 03:35 PM

No women lie as to what they want in a guy so they don't seem shallow. Women that write the truth on PPD also get heavily downvoted because they're (essentially) rocking the boat. It's annoying when you're telling men that most women do, in fact, like tall/attractive/ambitious men in their prime and someone pipes up with "oh well, my best friend is 5'3", 50 years old, and built like a bridge troll, but all the hot 20yo women love him, so you're obviously wrong!!!" It very likely could be a troll post (this is Reddit, after all). Yet some people really do have an unhealthily inflated sense of their own attractiveness, which makes them very bitter when the partners they're aiming for don't think so. It's very sad, but also self-inflicted. Just a while ago, we had a guy posting on PPD about the fact he's owed a hot girlfriend because he'd be a hot girl if he were a girl. The word "settle" has a very negative connotation. If women just stopped using it, it would solve a lot of problems. How so? Would you "settle" for Tammy Slaton from TLC's 1000-lbs Sisters? I agree that some men have a harder go of getting into relationships than many women, and that's something a lot of women don't realise. But the Redditors rage-posting about all women being shallow thots (or all men being shit) aren't helping their case at all. So yeah, the hateful incel/femcel takes probably require some grass-touching.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/23 07:58 PM

That's also a speedy chute to fatherhood. Several chaps at one of my university's frats thought they were Giga ChadsTM for boasting about making their sex partners "work" to be worthy of a relationship. All fine and dandy for them... until some of their partners announced they were pregnant. Who could've foreseen that happening? 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/23 07:37 PM

That kind of keyboard insanity deserves some grass-touching.

Most women don't lack basic hygiene, so this is moot point. understand your own life strategy and when it makes sense for you to do it Again, most women do. Just because you haven't seen Glam Gloria wandering down the street…

Hands down one of the best takes here — which means it's probably going to get downvoted to oblivion. Some of men whinging about getting no women definitely seem to only want very attractive girlfriends, but women with options aren't just going to fall into the lap of some rando that thinks he's owed a hot girlfriend.

Spot on! Some of the men that "settle" this way can also get very resentful of the women they've settled for. They assume she's keeping them from their Super Hot Next GirlfriendTM. Anecdote: A mutual friend had an awful breakup with her boyfriend two years ago — he was tired of having "settled for a cow" (his words) and assumed all the hot babes he was eyeing would love to suck his dick. Yes, he's still single.

Well... yes and no. If you're going to work, a party, some other event, or you just want to look polished, then dolling up will help you look more attractive. (If that's your preference.) However, it takes time, effort, and €€€ to look polished and put together. And I don't just mean makeup — I'm talking about well made clothes/jewellery/accessories, effective skincare and haircare products, waxing/electrolysis... etc. After this comes all the makeup, perfume, and whatnot. Expecting every woman …

women think they are doing him a favor by trying to woo him the way they themselves would like to be wooed At this point, I'm just genuinely curious about your dating experiences. When I'm seducing my man, I'm definitely not giving him red roses and boxes of chocolates, and taking him to romcoms. I'm letting him know I want his cock in me — or showing him how much I want him. And, again, I'm definitely not the only woman that does this. Where have you met these women that think men need to be wo…

Men do not need to be seduced in any elaborate way as women would like men to seduce them. Tell that to the men in dead bedrooms that wish their wives/girlfriends would initiate sex with them — or all the men complaining about women that do nothing but "starfish" in bed. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You can't have it both ways.

Even when a woman tries to "put in the effort" they just end up out on a date the woman wants to go on that the man could not care less about Once again, stop generalising your experiences with lazy/self-absorbed women to ALL women. The simplest example: my man desperately wanted to see the new John Wick film, so I took him to see it. I'm definitely NOT the only woman that plans things for her man that he enjoys.

So then they get all pissy because they think they are being awesome but they can't understand that men dont want what they want. Where are these pissy women? 🤣 Here in the Netherlands, it's perfectly common for dating to be a two-way street, where each party puts in equal effort. That's how my relationship started, as well as those of most people I've met. But, if you prefer dating women that don't put in the effort, feel free to say so — though you'll forfeit your right to complain about it.

I assume they think that's easier than facing the truth. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's the same for women — if asked, most men would choose young Pam Anderson over an average chick that's slept with 300+ guys. Yet, some men genuinely believe that women will choose an average Joe with a bodycount in the hundreds over a guy that's better looking/more charismatic/richer/actually talented that hasn't slept with loads of women? Hilariously out of touch.

A high-value man is one who many women want to be with (among other reasons of course), not one who has slept with many women. This is true, to a point. As a woman, if I were given a choice between a somewhat celibate Steve Vai and some random Joe that'd slept with 5000 women, I'd definitely NOT be picking the latter. However, a lot of men view "HVM" as "dude that sleeps around", because they think that's what high-value means: being able to sleep around. Yet, to have women actually rate them "h…

B, hands down. There's nothing sexier than a man with some hobbies and interests. It doesn't matter if he likes playing the guitar, fancies knitting sweaters, or is a baking whizz — being passionate about something is always sexy. Granted, not every woman will find the same things sexy, but most women will prefer a man with actual hobbies over a man whose only hobby is getting his willy wet.

All I'm getting from this thread is that a few men have dated some boring, attention-seeking, lazy women and are trying to use that as evidence that most other women are equally boring, attention-seeking, and lazy. We're not. Trust me, when women are 100% present in a relationship, we'll be intiating dates and seducing you — basically making sure you KNOW you're special. If/when we break up, it definitely won't be sunshine and roses for us. If the women you've been "dating" weren't making any ef…

Obviously these guys must find her attractive to have sex with her, and some of them hit her up each weekend sharing memes and stuff...why not just make it official? Sorry OP, but there's a difference between a FWB/ONS and a relationship partner. It sounds like your friend is conflating the two, and it's giving her hookup partners the signal that all she's looking for is sex. The same men that'll bang her for 6 months (whilst never making things serious) aren't the ones to magically ask her to b…

show on Netflix that very accurately documents why the women often needed matchmakers This has to be the dumbest take I've seen in a while. Reality TV being an overly-staged ham-fest aside, women are not a hivemind. Most of us don't automatically drop our knickers and kick our partners to the curb the second Chad DudeBroTM shows up — despite what one woman in an entertainment programme may have done.

Is it creepy if a guy from a league below in attractiveness approaches you? Absolutely not. Provided the guy is approaching me in a polite fashion — and, most importantly, is willing to take no for an answer — I wouldn't find it creepy at all. It's only creepy when there's a predatory aspect to it, like a university lecturer trying to lure you out for drinks with him after class or a man trying to follow you home from a bar to ask for a date (both of which I've experienced). In those cases, it d…

That's not the point we're making, though. I just gave it another go and added a whole bunch of ranges I'd accept in my "ideal man", and still got 4/5 on the delusion score. Choosing unmarried, non-obese men in their 20s/30s dropped my score by a wild amount. (Didn't even touch the income slider.) Any calculator that'd rate you delusional/picky for being a woman in her early 20s not wanting to nab someone's 50-something hubby is a bit of a joke. 😆

The way I see it, there's a difference between needing someone and wanting them in your life because you love them (and they you). The former implies that you depend on them for something, whereas the latter is a decision that you both take to be with each other. If it's toxic to suggest that everyone should be with their spouse/partner out of love instead of necessity, then I fully admit my opinion is toxic. 🤷🏻‍♀️

women no longer need men 100% agreed — I don't need my partner or my male friends. Loads of women nowadays don't need men in their lives. Society has advanced in such a way that we're able to support ourselves financially and enrich our lives educationally/professionally, without having to marry/depend on men. This has definitely made us more selective with the men we admit in our "circle", so the barrier to being in a relationship is much higher than it was in the days of yore. It doesn't mean …

it's not much of an excuse to reject most average guys, it's a bit of a lie and it's giving guys false information Speaking as someone that's both rejected and been rejected by people, it's SUPER weird to think you're entitled to a reason you think is logical for people to reject you. Some of the reasons I've been rejected include: they didn't like the fact I once went out with a bisexual guy, I had several tequila shots on a night out with friends and they didn't like that, and they weren't a f…

As a woman in her early twenties, I can say that it generally isn't "easier" to land one of us. Most female friends and colleagues my age would rather date men around our age (or a couple of years older), as they're usually much more attractive and have a similar level of life experience. That's not to say that age gap relationships can't happen, just that there aren't a flock of young women out trying to nab much older men — unless that older man has the talent and charisma of, say, Steve Vai. …

If you’re trying to tell me you’re the 1 shy woman who prefers vanilla sex over rough or kinky sex, please let me know Literally the opposite, but I've met enough women in my life to understand that we aren't all created according to a template. Just because I have certain kinks/preferences doesn't mean that my friends are lying when they say they either aren't into sex or prefer "more vanilla sex". Then again, you'd have to actually interact with enough women to know this. 🤷🏻‍♀️

inexperienced =/ innocent Never said that. I said: "inexperienced or innocent in the bedroom" (i.e. inexperienced or not really on board with behaving overtly sexual in the bedroom). even if a woman has a shy innocent vibe IRL, these type of women get immense sexual gratification from acting like sluts in private [...] something every woman finds appealing Untrue. I don't strive for that duality, and nor do many other seemingly "shy" women I know/am friends with. Some of the shy ones are into BD…

Men who don’t have sex with a lot of women [...] they havent experienced what it’s like for a woman to be an absolute slut for you Having sex with ten/fifty/a hundred women that are very inexperienced or innocent in the bedroom will also yield the same experience. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's got nothing to do with numbers, and everything to do with the personality of the woman they're having sex with. And frankly, some men that rave about their sexual prowess or how many women they've dicked can be absolutely us…
