Demanding that they pull their own weight, earn their place, earn the praise, earn the rewards, EARN everything exactly like men do are be ignored exactly like useless men are. Guys don't run around labeling each other useless and ignoring each other.

They must EARN that special treatment. Fuck that. You don't suck up to your boss's son because he earned shit. And when you're sucking up to your parents because you want to borrow their car, it's not because you think they're exceptional people, it's because you want to borrow the car. I don't even know where to start in with politicians. This "Men earned it" narrative is horseshit. Some people have things other people want, and some people are willing to debase themselves to get it. Women suck…

Most men are not coddled in society. Quite the opposite. My point as that women have been conditioned to depend on men and feel entitled to special treatment and consideration. I mean, maybe I'm coming from a different perspective, but I just never see this in the aggregate. I see a standing assumption that women are incapable - physically, mentally, socially - and that men are socially obligated to step in and take over. At the same time, when a group of women come together to organize an event…

Does this work with guys, too? Stop helping roommates move? Stop throwing BBQ parties for your dude friends? Stop going out with your buddies to a bar and commizerating about shit at work? Is this just something we apply to women, or is the goal here to be generally anti-social?

We should try more to allow some differences between the sexes. The image could have been phrased in a number of different ways. "Imagine if these girls were married" "Imagine if this guy was married" "Imagine if this guy was gay" "Imagine if these girls/this guy was 14" "Imagine if this guy had just proclaimed Get The Hell Off Me!" Etc, etc. So yes. Context matters. It's not "differences between the sexes". I've seen a few bachelorate party photos of a girl with three guys hanging off her and a…

This isn't a thread about murder. It's about statistics and the techniques used to collect them. Now it can be noted that if crime statistics differ from reporting we could see a host of other issues at play. Perhaps men are less likely to report domestic abuse as a crime. Perhaps women are more likely to report on behalf of friends and relatives. Perhaps women are less likely to discuss physical violence in CDC polls. Perhaps, as has been mentioned above, female domestic abuse isn't as comparat…

I'm surprised this hasn't been downvoted to oblivion.

This does not necessarily make her an MRA. Because... she's a woman? Do female MRAs not exist in the same way that male feminists don't exist? Or does being a conservative disqualify her as an MRA? A family policy expert? What's the disqualifying factor here? As for the article I linked to, which you seem to see as a feminist rally-cry for help for struggling males, all I see i a "ra-ra-ra you-go-girls" article Unsurprising, given your propensity for anti-feminist bias. You've ignored the conten…

Stop being bloody stupid. I'm sorry, did this conversation just go British? MRAs do not think "men are entitled to higher pay than women". Quoted from your own article: "the pay gap we should be worrying about is the one that shows young men falling behind" The MRA in this article clearly believes that women falling behind men is part of the natural order. Men falling behind women, however, is a deviation that needs to be corrected. The author of the article is advocating aid to young men that l…

So feminists have no problem with the fact younger women earn more. Except that's not what the article says at all. Just the opposite, it says Where boys are failing, schools should question what's happening in the classroom. It's just depressing that the debate so often contrived to make young girls' strengths – greater social confidence and maturity or a conscientiousness that makes them better at coursework – sound strangely like cheating, since these skills have turned out to be undeniably h…

Looks like just the opposite. For an angry but vocal minority, that is a change too far, yet more proof that they are the underdogs now, trampled beneath the stilettoes of supposedly over-mighty women. The conservative family policy expert Jill Kirby even suggested that "the pay gap we should be worrying about is the one that shows young men falling behind", not the one that still sees men earning more than women for every other decade of their working life. ... Where boys are failing, schools s…

Do you think employers go, "Oh shit, Cheryl. You turned 31 last week. Time to cut your pay!" I'm referencing the same stats as everyone else. If women older than 31 - despite making all the "right" choices - still see a pay discrepancy then it looks to me like there's a systematic gender discrimination problem in doling out raises as time goes on. That's setting aside the absurd double standard, wherein a married couple will see a pay disparity despite being the same age and doing the same job. …

This would be true if there was no time off for child birth and women and men had the same biological responses to the child from birth. The actual birthing process typically takes hours. Days at the outside. I've been out with the flu for longer than some women are out for pregnancy. So unless you're working a job that is generically anti-sick-day, this isn't a serious concern. Then there is the factor of emotions after child birth. Not that fathers are emotional blackholes, but women have a ho…

A lot of those shoots are intended to put the viewer in the position of the male actor. So you have perspective shots where it's just a dude's torso and legs, with a girl dancing around in front of him. If these kinds of shoots objectify someone, then I'd say the real victim of discrimination in porn is the camera person.

The reality is that women will likely still take off more time than men If I was married to a woman, we both worked hourly, and she earned more than me I can pretty much guarantee I'd take off more time than she did whenever it was necessary to do so. What you've described is a self-reinforcing cycle. If, in a married couple, the man always makes more then of course the man is going to want to maximize his hours at the woman's expense. If the situation is reversed, the results will reverse thems…

Here's the slightly deflating caveat: this reverse gender gap, as it's known, applies only to unmarried, childless women under 30 who live in cities. The rest of working women — even those of the same age, but who are married or don't live in a major metropolitan area — are still on the less scenic side of the wage divide. So if you're unmarried AND under 30 AND don't have kids AND live in a metro area... you can come out ahead. Thus proving... what? If you're a woman, never get older than thirt…

The problem is it's feminists (or at least most of them) who don't get it. I think you'd be hard pressed to find feminists that believe pay inequality is acceptable among fashion models, and I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a vocal contingent that support equal pay for equal work among their male colleagues. What it looks like we have is MRAs projecting their lack of concern onto others. As a few others have noted above, this isn't a legitimate complaint. It's a self-admitted concern tr…
