I work in a prison and I can confirm that almost every prisoner will make up anything to go to the hospital/see a doctor. That said someone is getting fired and hopefully charged for ignoring such gross health symptoms. With my father I have fond memories of doing electrical "experiments" building basic circuits on a Elenco 75 in one project board. Also building and fixing computers. I was born in the mid 80's and we had a computer from when I was 4 and we always were building them or tinkering with them. For myself my son is only 7 months old but I plan to share my love of computer tech with him and woodworking mechanical workings. I also share those things with my daughter who is 3 currently.

Exactly, I always used this when I was dating as a pass fail test. Yup know how that works. My daughter is half asian (I'm white) but looks almost a carbon copy of my wife. I'm always getting dirty looks and watched like a hawk when I'm out with her. I've not yet had the cops called on me but luckily for me it would be a short conversation as I work with them and they have all met my daughter. Still it shouldn't have to be this way.

Or even just generally out with your child minding your own business. I have been out walking pushing my daughter in her stroller. I'm White my wife is Asian our daughter looks more like her mom than like me. The amounts of suspicious looks and women watching you like CCTV cameras can get oppressive. That and the "Oh how nice your babysitting today" comments of people who seem to generally trying to be nice is infuriating. No god dammit I'm being a father to my daughter.

I used to give blood as well. Here in canada I stopped more because of the crappy timeframe they have for donations. I work shift work 12 hour days and Nights the donation place was only open 9 am to 5pm monday to friday. So I was either at work or sleeping before going to work when it was open. Very true in my life experience as well. My group of friends we all talk shit about each other all the time face to face. But we mean none of it. One of us asks for help we all have his back. Literally drove with a buddy for 24hrs straight across the height of North America to pick up another buddy we hadn't seen face to face in 5 years only talked and gamed with because he got tossed out by his SO and had no place else to go.

Speaking as a dad with a 6 month old the number of times I've had to change her on my lap sitting on the toilet or try to balance her on the bathroom counter with her change mat. I'm always happy to see any place that has one of these or a parents room. I was recently in China and a lot of public spaces had "family rooms" which had change tables, chairs that could be individually curtained off so my wife could breast feed it was great to have. Only wish we had such things in Canada....

Don't know if it's Canada wide but in BC today all flags at governmental offices are at half mast for the Day of action and remembrance of violence against women. I'm not opposed to this per say but it would be better to be a day of action and remembrance of Domestic violence in general?

I know it's small but when out shopping with my Daughter and being asked if I'm babysitting today when women come to do the cute baby routine. I usually politely reply no I'm not babysitting I'm being a father. Since having had a child I've begun to notice that few places have change tables in the men's room. I just lay out the change mat on the men's room counter if there is room or make other arraignments. But it does suck sometimes.

This I find sums it up. A lot of people who are in their early 20's and younger (some older not all ect) are all in it for themselves and when it isn't about them they make it about them through athority ect. Right now in my marriage my wife works full time and is going to school. I work full time and more myself. I have no idea where this 4.5 hours of housework comes from. For myself I found a woman that at the base of it treats me as she wants to be treated. Ala the golden rule. We have disagreements like reasoned adults. We don't scream and yell we make our points in reasonable tones. Too many of the women I dated before her were about what I could do for them and what I could do to help them.
