Thanks a lot. God bless.

Yeah, I agree that those things are unattractive. And I do get what you're saying about being the prize because we follow God's commands. Walking away from a marriage is ALWAYS overkill and a sin? I don't know how that can be. Because I'm asking about it doesn't mean I take that lightly. I think it should be the last resort and I mean last resort as in leaving with a clear conscience that you've tried everything. Everything, and she's still not willing to engage with you in the way that God orda…

I see. Thanks for that distinction on being the prize can essentially be a path to sin. So how to be the humble prize? I think your response is very thorough. I also think that your description of RP without the prize mentality or the capacity to next is not RP. Which is basically what prompted me to ask. If a man isn't willing to leave his perpetually unwilling wife where's the RP? RP is about how to restore the natural order to the sexes. A big motivation is so the man can have the sex he want…

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am slowly reading the bible for myself. Frankly, it's a bit overwhelming, but I do not want to be a part of the Catholic church. I'm not really sure what church I want to be a part of. I did one of those quizzes and felt meh about the results.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know that it's all about doing the work, leading and then giving her the opportunity to follow. And it doesn't always work, which is why I was asking the question. Thanks for your candid point of view.

Hey thanks a lot. I am in it for the deeper experience and transformation. I"m not sure how to do that. I think your reading list might be a good start. Any other recommendations? It seems that you're saying focusing on the influence of the Holy Ghost is important to being transformed. Am I reading that correctly?

I fixed my marriage long before I came back to Christianity. I didn't come back for any particular outcome, but I did come back in a very logical way...looking around, I think it's the best worldview to raise my kids in. I admit that I don't know much about being transformed by the Holy Spirit.

I don't mean to threaten her. I never threatened my wife, but when she noticed my new certainty that I deserved better, I think this motivated her to get on board because she didn't want to lose me. There was never an overt threat. I mean that the gravity of knowing her man is high value and if not treated as such, at some point he's going to seek out the treatment he deserves.

Thanks. My marriage is good. I help married men improve their marriages and some of them are Christian. I'm asking because I want to be more informed before I comment on the religious aspect. Medical procedure?

Agreed, but does he leave the marriage?

Thanks for all of the tangents. There's a lot for me to think over. As to the technicalities of why I'm asking...I coach men to improve their marriages. Some of them are Christian, and I have avoided bringing their religion into the coaching because I don't know enough about it. This is my first attempt to see how the concepts work together. For the record, I don't think nexting a wife should be done without first exhausting every other option. I tell men (and some women) that if they are going …

Yes, I agree. Like I said, we're newly back to Christianity and dread isn't present in our marriage. I don't think overtly threatening is the way for a man to use dread. I don't think that's dread at all. But I do wonder that if a wife believes that her man would never leave her because she knows he believes it's a grave sin against God, what motivation would she have to change?

Thanks, so if I'm picking up what you're putting down...a woman consistently failing to develop a healthy sexual relationship with her husband is a violation of God's commands in 1 Corinthians, and therefore separation could be justifiable?

Yes, it is upper levels of dread, but they are not upper levels of dread as a tool. The heart of RP is a man knowing that he is the prize, and if his woman doesn't treat him in the way that he wants, then, after he's done everything, he has the power and the choice to leave. See what I mean? Dread doesn't work because it's a good tactic. Dread works because it's a natural result of a woman realizing she actually has to behave in a certain way to keep her man. If that possibility isn't there, the…

Yes, this is my understanding. My experience with RP is that being willing to leave if my wife didn't get on board was at the core of why it worked. If we take that "power" away, so to speak, how well do RP principles work? It seems to me that if a woman knows her man won't leave or cheat because of his faith, she has no 'negative' motivation to change. I know a thing or 3 about humans...we are much more motivated out of a fear of loss than a hope of gain. Know what I mean?

The core concept isn't to MAKE the wife worried. The core concept is to value yourself enough so that if you're not getting what you want out of your life and marriage, you're willing to make the hard choices to make it as you envision it. Sex is important to me. I think it's important to God, too. I'm OK with this.

That's my understanding. But the willingness to do this is at the core of RP. How do you manage that dissonance?

Check out a book called The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. It's a sort of dehypnotizes people from believing they enjoy killing themselves.

It's not about what she wants, its about what she needs. I very much doubt that she needs you to apologize, at best its a mask for a deeper need. This is basically nonviolent communication. If you haven't yet, give it a look.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
