it's nearly impossible to get hired as a white male. One of the huge advantages of doing historic archy in North America. It's all the pre-contact indigenous stuff that the white girls love to flood into. The ones into historic are usually pretty cool. Not surprised that a clear understanding of recent history makes them less insane though.

I actually do CRM, I can confirm that maybe 1/10 women pull the same weight as 9/10 of the men. They're diversity hires and it's obvious, a lot of them don't even have experience in identifying artifacts. Plus having a female field director is a guarantee for drama and shitty management. You either get nothing done because of their idleness or moronically follow every guideline without any strategy and waste tons of time.

Sadly I've met these before in real life and they don't see how stupid it is. I had an extremely liberal vegan tell me she wanted to move to S. Central Europe with me. She didn't believe me when I said that people (especially my family) would probably openly mock her for being vegan and not accommodate her self-imposed restrictions. African American Vernacular English. Essentially the English of the Southern States in the era just before and immediately after the Civil War just after going through 100 years of African-American culture. The most common forms are things like axe in place of ask, y'all instead of you all, ain't instead of am not etc etc. It's just blatant bad English and has done nothing but hold back the African American communities as it did the White ones in the South.

Start humble and work your way up. I started 2018 with a free second hand desktop with hardware ranging from 2009-2015, upgraded to a slightly newer GPU/CPU/Mobo by buying parts from friends. I'm just now planning a $2500 build to attain the hardware standards I wanted back in 2018. There's no rush to build your dream PC, and prices/specs are only going to get better and cheaper.

If you've lived in different places you should know that certain language differences exist, even between the US and Canada.
