It really is the way to go -- especially if you have mental health issues or other genetic problems that you don't want to pass on to your kids. My family is riddled with depressed alcoholics. I'm functional, but definitely not the most mentally stable. But now I've got a 10 year old kid who wants nothing more than to kill himself and has been this way for several years.
