Great way to show your children you don't care about their mental or physical well being and in the future when you meet someone and they find this out they're likely just going to think you're an asshole and ditch you. You can be better than this.

Posts like this make we want to leave this sub.

He loves you both and probably wanted you to know because unless he feels it's true he wants you to be able to defend yourself. Unless he literally said "please don't tell mom" I'd add it. That's stupid and dangerous from her side. She's putting the kid in a really tough situation and that's completely badmouthing/alienating the other parent which is a huge fucking no-no. Don't ever say anything to anyone that you aren't willing to get out in the open, because people talk and some people won't p…

Just because you're getting a divorce doesn't mean they're your worst enemy. Please don't spread that poison

Thanks. We have a handful of kids, so our success and successes are linked forever :), so we should support each other at every point we can Just tonight I wish finishing some r/beermoney activities while watching a movie purely to send her a $15 Amazon card/cert

I wish you both the best. Seeing folks on here that want their ex to be happy and successful is great and I wish we saw it more. So often when someone posts something like this they get downvoted by all the folks that are filled with hate and poison and want everyone else to be the same E: If you're reading this and feel like downvoting me please just block me as a user because I'll likely end up blocking you at some point if you spew hate elsewhere on here. I don't need you in my life and you o…

I hate how people on here downvote statements like yours. I want my ex to have success and happiness and if I could help by keeping her on my insurance I would, but in my state I don't think it's possible :( So many people on here are so filled with hate and they want everyone else that's divorced to also be filled with hate. Fuck them.

Eh. Before I read the part of her buying them things all the time I was about to say "if she's buying school supplies or clothes then obviously get in there and help out" but if it's just crap then no. If it's a good amicable thing, which it sounds like, then you two should just talk about things before buying whatever it is. I'm in a good relationship with my ex so if I'm at a store I'll text her and say "hey, you need anything from X?". Sometimes the answer is "yeah, can you get some milk/yogu…

Agreed. It's more movement, but it's less time between seeing them.

It won't help gain you any money but go over to r/YNAB and also, of course check out the site & app for You Need A Budget. It will help you with your planning and budgeting stuff out SO MUCH. Also, r/beermoney for passive additional income stuff.

Wow. I love that you're with it enough and honest enough to say you've been a dipshit too. In the end that means you'll find happiness somewhere :) "WTF. They are both nuts. Why are they living together?" Got me good. A good laugh in the middle of all the pain

Thank you for noticing my reply. Yes, we both are very reasonable people and are focused on the health of our kids and both of us being happy. I have another friend getting divorced and him and his wife seem to be in a similar situation. Maybe not as positive as mine, but similar. I bet a lot of the acting out, as you note, is a symptom of something else. Along the way a lot of poison can get built up and a person can end up being a "bitch eating crackers" in the other person's eyes. Our society…

Well, my STBX and I both want each other to be happy and successful, so she was willing to not go after spousal support, but obviously deserves child support. That leaves me enough to still follow my dream. That also creates the positive situation where I am willing to pick things up for her if I'm out and about. If I had to pay her spousal support I would have to sell most of what I own and move from my farm to an apartment. So I guess her desire to help create as much of a positive post-divorc…

I have had a really positive experience with my ex in our divorce process and prefer openness to any type of secretive stuff. Plus, getting someone to put an answer out there means you can call them on it later if it turns out to be false. I have no idea what going through a negative divorce is like where you're wanting to be secretive because you feel the need to have ammo later. Sorry that's what your experience is seeming like :(

Sounds like you have a preconceived answer you wanted folks to provide for you here. I'd suggest you bring it up. She can deny it, but that's her decision and if it's a lie then it's a lie.

But you're using unsubstantiated facts to cement your position. Do you see what is happening in our country's politics? You're doing that at a small level to yourself. You could flat out ask her "are you seeing anyone?" So you at least have an answer and can point to that, but if you never ask you won't actually have that. This sub is skewed way heavy to the opion that all women are evil, so take the responses here with some salt.

So you say you're not sure, so ask her. It's obviously a heavy thing on your mind and you might be right or uou might be totally wrong. I've had lots of female friends that my wife's friends have said must be my APs, which was 100% false. Just ask.

I'm actually in a similar situation. We have it worded in the agreement that I will sell the house next year and we will split the equity at that point.

Not normal, but you what what... your kids will remember this. I have no idea what your situation is or if you're on good terms or not, but if your kids see you going out of your way they'll remember that I'd do it, if it was convenient. If I'm not in the middle of something else or out somewhere and my ex asked I'd do it and make sure the kids knew it came from me. No advice on the BF

I guess that's all you can do then unless you want to drag lawyers and courts into the mix. I'm not in a negative situation with my STBX, and we have kids, so I can't give personal experience examples

Do you care? Like seriously, do you care? If so then be open about it and tell her "hey, I know shit happens but we called this out. Can I meet this guy so I can at least get some peace of mind if you are going to do this? You were the one that asked for this rule"

Getting part of her inheritance vs getting something for the time and effort you put into it are very different. Your title makes you sound very uncool, but I get the place where you're coming from. I'm sorry it's negative between you two and that's probably going to be the kicker. I have a very positive relationship with my soon to be ex, so she has been very cooperative with me and isn't chasing for things just because she can. We both want each other to be setup for success here and that has …

Do you think she just got unlucky or are all men like that? There's two sides to every equation. Two people may not be a good fit or they grow in two different directions that at some point just shouldn't be together anymore. It's just part of life I'm excited to find someone else at some point that works a little better with who I am today and im sure my ex feels the same way. I'll always have a good relationship with my ex though as we have kids together. Hell, I just bought them a bunch of cl…

Your bank will have the statements online. It will be annoying and tedious, but you have to do it They discover those things by a credit check. Any institution that you have an acct with will show up on that check and then they'll compare that to the statements you gave to see if everything matches up. If you have some hidden acct somewhere it'll show up on the check, unless you're being nefarious and if that's the case then I hope you've never electronically transferred money into or out of it …

I guess it's one thing for her to ask to skip mediation, but if you felt mediation would help then you should do that

Wow. No. You're going to just dig that negativity deeper into you and if she retaliates in any way then you're deserving of the outcome. All you're doing is proving to her why divorce from her is the right thing for her. Do what you need to do for the divorce then work on yourself. Don't feed into negative shit.
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/22 10:52 PM

Don't do it, period. You're just creating a volatile situation that can only get worse. Got any skeletons in your closet that she knows about that you don't want everyone St your job knowing about? Get through the process and move on. Doing anything like this is just feeding into the negativity

You have to provide statements back for a few years, so you'd probably need to plan that out pretty far

Anything over X amount in value has to be declared during discovery and will be up for discussion as a thing to be split. Playing the game of "nope, I don't have that" is a lot of risk.
/r/Divorce_Men25/07/22 09:48 PM

They will run a credit check and you will need to provide a history of statements for that account. If you refuse that's going to be problematic as then a financial investigator might be hired and unless you can show proof of where that cash went they're going to assume you're hiding it. In short: don't hide it.

There is absolutely a lot of bitterness and flat out "woman hating" that does go on here. I'm not sure of the spousal support thing though. In my situation she used spousal support as a carrot and stick: she wanted to move a distance away which would cause our parenting to be more 60/40 instead of 50/50 and said if I'm okay with that she won't request spousal support, but if I was going to fight it then she would. We have quite a big income gap, so it was a good bargaining chip on her part. We'l…

Probably depends on where you are. The paperwork where we are was pretty clear about the simplicity of the initial meet and greet. In my experience it was literally a 10 min zoom meeting where we introduced ourselves, the judge asked STBXW's lawyer if things were cool and then asked me "you good without a lawyer?" And I said "yup" since it's amicable and then they set a date for checking in 60+ days out. I really wish we could move on this faster, but that's what it was. Good luck!

Yeah, definitely don't take half your marital property and move it elsewhere. That's just going g to raise more flags than anything else, worried or not.

Not sure where you are but depending on the amount and what the accts show they had before when she asks for spousal support or child support the court would take that cash into consideration. Also, it's not exactly easy for most folks to hide cash. If she put it in a acct elsewhere a simple run of a credit report will show the accts and a lawyer can then say "show me your statements or I'll go get them from your bank". Her trying to yank the cash out and hide it elsewhere would just make the co…

Jeez. I guess it depends on your relationship. If you have kids then you certainly want to keep friendly to some degree, so you'll want to give her a clear deadline and single option ("pick up your shit by X day or I'm selling it") but the risk adverse person in me worries about her going crazy and dragging courts into it if they're worth anything. Your correspondence on the matter is all that she needs to bring up that you still have her stuff, but abandonment of the items certainly comes into …

Honestly I'd go find a lawyer and talk through your case and say given the perceived deception, timeline and assumption that she will not be getting moved back near you that you would like full custody. That's a really crappy situation and there's no good outcome, but I hope she can see it from your situation. As long as you were clear or clearly communicate to her now then you shouldn't feel bad about it: "hey, the original agreement was X, is that still the plan? Because if it's not then I'm r…
