Amber Heard donates entire divorce settlement to charityOf course banks are rich entities, but because they serve people, if you stole money from them it would likely hurt normal depositors. A bank isn't going to just allow money to be lost, insured or not. They would raise their interest rates or something to compensate. It simply a false equivalence. But let's toy with your idea - assuming one steal's money from your monolithic entity you call a 'bank' and it wouldn't have repercussions on working people that deposit into it, if that money was then… | /r/MensRights | 20/08/16 12:37 AM
Amber Heard donates entire divorce settlement to charityThat is just a false equivalency you're making. That money in a bank may actually belong to a charity for all we know. Perhaps you just have a radically different view of ethics than I do. I think the consequences are what matters. | 1 | Amber Heard donates entire divorce settlement to charityBut it precisely was technically her money. If she didn't donate it, it would be in her bank account. And had that been the case, then I would agree with you that this is not ethical. So the end results aren't moot at all. If I stole $7 million from a rich person and gave it to charity, is that unethical? It isn't clear to me that it is. Just looking at "stole $7 million" and making a conclusion would be rash. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/16 08:10 PM
Amber Heard donates entire divorce settlement to charityYou should call up that children's hospital she donated too and explain to them how morally reprehensible they are for accepting that money and that they should give it back to the wealthy actor. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/16 07:40 PM
Amber Heard donates entire divorce settlement to charityHow are you going to make a morality argument when the net result here is that $7 million is taken from a very rich dude and is donated to charity? | /r/MensRights | 19/08/16 07:38 PM
Amber Heard donates entire divorce settlement to charityWhat are you talking about? It is her own. If she didn't donate it, it would go into her bank account. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/16 07:36 PM
