Wow man that’s super in depth and incredibly helpful. Thank you. I tend to intellectualize ways to avoid overthinking which is itself a form of overthinking. I’m about amp the meditation up a notch

Mastering self awareness of my own ego is definitely something I’m working on. Besides meditation learning me things what do you know of that can help?

I agree. Overestimating yourself too much, is dangerous just like underestimating yourself. Being too irrationally self confident is a good way to get your ass handed to you in a fight or end up pouring money into a bad business model. Being not confident enough will cause you to miss out on a lot that life has to offer. A healthy is ego is the balance between the two.

You could floss your teeth with me after a meal I get it. I do want to build a better physique and that is motivating. I appreciate it.

Anytime fitness is a good option. They have squat racks, are open 24/7, and if you’re a member of one you’re a member of all.

Did you have kids? I’d hate to not be able to see my daughter or see her significantly less just because I wanted to get my dick wet for validation. I’m going to ask my lawyer.

Would you make smoking weed your purpose? How about watching Netflix? If your purpose involves instant gratification you’re just chasing after the wind.

You’re going to feel pain regardless of what you do. Life is full of suffering. It’s about finding out what’s worth suffering for and acting accordingly. Pain is the best catalyst for change.

That’s true. At times, I’ve been surrounded by people wearing smiling faces over questionable intentions. Other times I’ve had a only a couple of ride or dies around who I know wish me the best. The latter is definitely preferable.

A couple summers ago I spent the whole summer glued to the tv, playing video games and eating fast food. I wasn’t even working out. Some people can use games to unwind w/o it interfering with their goals. I personally couldn’t. To answer your question: only you can answer your question. For me, selling my PlayStation and completely cutting gaming out of my life was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

“How to Win Friends and Influence People” by (Dale Carnegie) plus intentional action applying the concepts of the book worked wonders for myself.

They’re called heuristics, everyone uses them. Depending on how you use them they can even be useful, so long as you don’t confuse them with reality. It’s just a mental image.

It means you have to care about something. How do you personally decide what to care about? Everyone cares about something and our values determine what that something is. Are your values superficial? Do you ENJOY self pity?

Look man I can relate. Different environments can have that effect. I work in sales and have internalized IDGAF on the clock, but occasionally I’ll still clam up in class. What’s helped me is to realize I’m not there to be social, but to master the material. Also mediation helps you accept how you “feel” without letting it dictate your behavior.

Right, I’ve hit plateaus in my lifts but I’m walking out of the gym feeling like I can go longer. I do three sessions a week with one or two HIIT workouts on off days in the pool or running. Also I occasionally do yoga on off days. Outside of the yoga I never stretch. 21 years old 6’0” 160lb Squat: 185 Overhead: 85 Deadlift: 175 Bench:145 Row:100 Whatcha think?

Yea but most people don’t walk around with that sort of thing in mind. Race obviously plays a part in how one is viewed but as far as being seen as dominant, it has more to do with how a man carries himself, not his skin color
