Your red flags are your own and there’s nothing wrong with that. Personally, I would never date a woman who didn’t have friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 11:46 PM

Yes. In an amicable divorce initiated by my sick wife, I would not feel obligated to provide for her. Similarly, if I got sick and decided to leave her I would not feel entitled to any of her money.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 11:44 PM

I am saying that I would not leave my sick wife. If she, while sick, chooses to leave me then no, I would not feel obligated to support her.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 04:17 PM

Yeah, that falls under what I said about not being weird about it and not making it the only thing you talk about. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with telling your friends on a night out that you’re having a tough time dating. Obviously it becomes a problem if you don’t know how or when to shut the fuck up about it and talk about something more pleasant
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 03:55 PM

Why would I be divorcing my wife who is sick and unable to care for herself? Yes, any of us can get sick at any time. If I get sick after a divorce it’s no longer her problem at all. If she chooses to leave me while I’m sick, that sucks but she is not obligated to financially support me through my illness. I’m not entitled to her money.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 03:52 PM

If someone wants to make fun of your political views or race, it doesn’t matter whether or not you have sex. They are still going to make fun of you. That said, venting about life’s frustrations is normal. Don’t be weird about it, don’t harass women about it, and don’t make it the only thing you talk about and you’ll probably be fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 03:20 PM

No, what’s hers is hers. I’m an adult who can and should take care of myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 01:10 PM

Because I do not want a traditional arrangement or kids, no. I would not want to pay any spousal support. If kids were involved, I’d feel an obligation to support them through some mix of child support and shared custody. If we’re just two adults with 0 dependents, we go our separate ways and support ourselves.

Single women can’t find dates and it’s because men are insecure? Get a grip.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 01:50 AM

Yeah that’s fair. DINK has always been my goal, so that probably changed my perspective of the dating pool when I was still out there.

Yeah I do think things get a little easier as you get older. I think these posts are often written by guys who have never really interacted with women in their 30s or older. The rest of us understand that they are often still very attractive.

It can be difficult to distinguish between sarcasm and insanity in this subreddit.

This makes no sense. Most women who have successful relationships are partnered with men. If you’re trying to imply that your relationship success means that you understand the opposite sex, men can say the same thing. Also literally no one in this thread is implying that men understand the “true female nature”. What are you even talking about?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 09:36 PM
1

This is a bad example. This would more analogous to a gay person offering to be straight to be with a woman. It would make more sense if Adam was a switch who both enjoys being dominant and submissive and Sally still wasn’t interested but couldn’t explain why. I agree with you that women don’t need to date bisexual men and frankly if no one wants to give a reason and doesn’t feel they need to, whatever, but at least argue with analogies that are actually comparable to bisexuality.

If ChatGPT is only transcribing your speech and not summarizing anything why was the first paragraph of your comment an explanation of our disagreement from a third party perspective?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 02:25 PM
4

The disagreement is that he thinks neither sex is taught the other's deeper perspective, whereas you're arguing that women are routinely exposed to male perspective through narrative. He's collapsing “explicit instruction about the opposite sex” and “socialization through repeated narrative identification” into the same category. Stopped reading after the obvious AI slop. If you can’t have a back and forth without ChatGPT helping you summarize less than 2 minutes worth of reading then I do not g…

You are the only one here arguing. I don’t know why you’re doing this because I am pretty sure we agree with each other. Yes, I agree that being taught what women like isn’t the same as understanding their perspective. I literally never said otherwise. The same goes for women who are taught what men like. That was the point of my initial comment. The two quotes of mine that you’re using to paint me as contradicting myself or arguing aren’t in opposition at all. A major part of our socialization …
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 01:46 PM

Yeah that’s pretty much always the final argument. Anything bad that impacts men actually isn’t that bad because women have been impacted more.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 01:31 PM

Being taught what most women tend to be attracted to isn’t really comparable to understanding their biology, their internal views, or how they are socialized. I would say that women aren’t really taught to understand the male perspective either despite them learning that most men tend to find thinner and younger women attractive. Again, both groups are taught basic generalizations around what the other tends to be attracted to, but neither group is really taught to understand the other on a deep…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 01:25 PM
12

I think you misunderstood my comment. I do NOT think men are accurately taught to understand women’s perspective at all. I do, however, think OP demonstrated that she doesn’t understand men’s perspective. I’m suggesting both groups are socialized poorly and tend to not really have a good understanding of how the other sees the world.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 01:10 PM
4

I can see that perspective as well. Of course, not everyone experiences socialization the exact same way and when speaking in generalizations some folks will have different views.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 12:55 PM
2

I think the distinction isn’t as meaningful when the reason for the success is to take care of women. The same way that women are taught to be submissive and pretty to keep their husbands happy, men are taught to be successful to keep the women and children in their lives taken care of.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 12:51 PM
25

I think it’s crazy that your title suggests men don’t try to understand women’s perspective then you go on to absolutely misunderstand the socialization of young men. Yes, we are socialized to strive for success. The implication has always been that that success will help with getting women to like you or being able to provide for a woman and children in the future. A MAJOR part of a young man’s socialization is being taught what women like. Whether or not the things being taught are correct is …
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 12:37 PM

Yup. That’s exactly why the narrative is being shifted back to calling men coercive, entitled, or misogynistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 03:12 AM

No one is arguing that straight women NEED to date bi-men. The argument is that some of their reasoning for not doing so is biphobic.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 11:36 PM
14

Based on the bisexual thread going on rn I think it’s fair to say that men can reject women for any reason at any time. If men want young, thin, pretty, and bubbly women then you just need to accept that rather than trying to shame them into dating people they aren’t attracted to. This sounds like women’s entitlement to male bodies.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 11:14 PM
16

I’ve noticed that pretty much any time the behavior of women is called into question in this sub there’s at least one person who dismisses it with “who cares?”

We’re in a debate subreddit man, there’s nothing productive happening here at all. Might as well call out some hypocrisy if/when you see it, regardless of who it’s coming from.

Why is the attempt to control a man’s body not misandry?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 05:48 PM

It’s not homophobic I just find you and your lifestyle icky and disgusting This is much more about some women being unable to accept even the mildest criticism than it is about men feeling entitled to women’s bodies.

Do you have two jobs, lift weights, and eat a lot of protein? If not, I got bad news for you, man.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 05:37 PM

Hopefully OP addresses this attempt to control men’s bodies. Surely there will be no double standard here.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 05:30 PM
3

Who cares about anything? The people who are talking about this topic are just people who enjoy talking about sexuality, homophobia, biphobia, etc. This discussion isn’t being driven by bisexual men who are demanding that women date them. This entire conversation is no different than when women call out misogyny when they see it. Yes, obviously they should move on and not date misogynistic men; but there’s nothing wrong with discussing it either.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 05:11 PM

“Criticism is not coercion” is a perfect phrase for this debate.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 05:03 PM

Even in the video you linked it explains that with some of the data there’s no way to know if the muscle is what women are attracted to. More muscular men tend to be more confident and we know that women find confidence to be a desirable trait. Also, Jeff Nippard posed the question to women in the gym. We have to agree that a woman in the gym will probably have a different preference than a woman who doesn’t exercise regularly, right? Which group of women is more representative of the average?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 10:36 PM
2

As a man, you're expected to have either - at least a decent looking physique with some visible muscle and being somewhat lean….. Many women have said over and over again that they don’t care much about this. There are so many guys who never step foot in a gym and have 0 issues meeting, dating, and sleeping with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 10:24 PM

I think it’s definitely more common in committed relationships. Much rarer in the early stages, especially first dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 08:19 PM

I’ve had women pay for dates early on, yeah. It’s pretty nice when it happens, but isn’t a huge deal to me either way.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 07:55 PM
3

It’s not up to women to decide if the traits you listed (emotionally stable, assertive, confident, etc) are equally necessary. Women have generally deemed masculine traits attractive. Men have generally deemed feminine traits attractive. I was initially going to say that men tend to be a little bit more honest about our preference, but truthfully pretty much every time women admit they have a preference for more masculine men a bunch of dudes who don’t fit that description freak out about it.

A dildo is basically a dick not attached to a man. Dildos don’t have needs, require anything, or reject women. Is every woman who fucks herself a misandrist?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 02:18 PM

mostly. Ok so address the parts that are enforced by women. You know, like the question in the OP?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:52 AM

I definitely could. If I stopped having sex with my wife today I’d still love her. But if I were a single man would I be pursuing women and going on first dates or using dating apps if sex wasn’t a possibility? Probably not.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:20 AM

Seems like there are some people in this sub who value social media posts based on whether or not they support their side of the argument. Social media posts that align with their position are evidence but the other ones are just dumb rage bait and should be ignored.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:18 AM

Not everyone is getting an inheritance from their parents, and again, in many cases they are the ones offering to do the work because they enjoy it. They often do not want or need to be compensated. Also often when someone has their brother or whatever helping they aren’t watching the kid for 8 straight hours. It’s usually some kind of scheduling game where each parent is available to watch the kid for some portion of the day and others pitch in to fill the gaps. Not everyone is on the same stri…

A lot of people in these situations have parents who are enthusiastic about helping out with childcare. I don’t have kids and never will, but my retired mom loves to tell my wife and I how much she’d enjoy watching grandkids. I think it’s really, really obvious that if someone says “my brother is gonna watch my kids while I work” that the brother isn’t quitting his job to do that.

I don’t think it’s narcissistic to have turn offs. Lots of women post about “icks” that I think are stupid as fuck, but that’s between them and their potential partners. There’s really nothing that can be done around people getting turned off.

Bringing home 100% of the income is obviously different than bringing home all of the income AND paying your spouse a salary equivalent to a full time job. I am very active in taking care of my home, but that isn’t relevant to the hypothetical we are discussing here. Also, “leave it to the men”, but it was OP, a woman, who said “they only have to make the money” You’re so blinded by hatred for men that you mistake my clarifying question for shirking of responsibilities lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/26 05:34 AM

Well, no. Men are more likely to be victims of assault than women. We know that men are more likely to be perpetrators, so outside of intimate relationships we see men picking fights with other men all the time.

Already happily married, but thanks for the stupid ass suggestion I guess.

Yeah maybe not. At the very least it’s enough for me to disagree that heteronormativity is the only problem in dating and certainly enough for me to be skeptical of the picture you paint of WLW dating where everyone is having a great time overall.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 11:46 PM

Agree that I would’ve preferred a much larger sample size. From the section from the methods you quote it seems like lesbian women are hitting each other and verbally abusing each other more (physical and psychological abuse) than any other type of couple and gay men are sexually coercing each other more. My initial comment was about lesbians beating each other, so this seems to align pretty well with what I said with the obvious caveat of it being a small study.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 11:26 PM
4

If that’s the case do you have an explanation as to why gay men have significantly lower IPV rates than lesbian women despite also having minority stress from homophobia?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 10:29 PM

There have been multiple studies on the topic. here’s a propensity score analysis suggesting same-sex couples have a higher propensity for IPV than hetero couples. Re: the divorce point, I actually agree with this for the most part. It doesn’t change my initial comment, these aren’t exactly relationships or a community that the rest of us should be modeling our behavior after. We all have our problems. Your OP paints same-sex lesbian couples as the standard to work towards. Data suggests otherwi…
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 10:07 PM
3

So when two lesbians beat the shit out of each other or get divorced right after marriage it’s because of heteronormative mindsets?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 09:40 PM
8

Yes, pretty much everyone here agrees that heteronormative dating is going poorly. That’s pretty much why all of us are here. That said, lesbian couples have a LOT of their own issues. I wouldn’t exactly consider that an ideal community for modeling dating practices.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 08:57 PM
9

Yes, if this became the standard I imagine a lot of men would be honest and say they cannot afford a homemaker.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 08:04 PM

Is there no amount of money where that would change for you? If your options tomorrow were either find a way to make 5x your salary or continue doing what you’re doing right now, which would you choose?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 07:07 PM

Would it still be a relief if suddenly you were required to make 2-3x the money?

Be honest with yourself. You know exactly what she was implying.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 06:21 PM

Because the deal would be prohibitively expensive. In most cases a parent chooses to stay at home because it is cheaper than putting a child in daycare. This is the exact opposite of that. Also, in your hypothetical are they completely absolved of all household and child rearing duties?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 06:18 PM
21

Crazy how fast women jump to calling a man gay when they need a quick insult.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 06:05 PM

Yeah, idk how this keeps coming up. If you have mismatched expectations on date 1 it’s never gonna work. Both parties are free to move on
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 06:04 PM
12

If you’re expecting that compensation to come from the working partner then it’s pretty obvious this is an absolutely awful deal for them. They are paying 100% of the bills + 100% of the money the stay-at-home partner could be making if they chose to continue working? Sounds like no one is quitting their job and we’ll just have working households.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 06:03 PM

I think the hypocrisy that people are trying to call out is that a lot of women are pushing men to be accountable for everything. We routinely see posts here about how “it’s all men until it’s no men” or that there are no good men because good men would be stopping bad men from doing bad things. Often we see these same women move goalposts or deflect when a woman is accused of doing something wrong. You can’t have it both ways. That said, the same is true for men. If we’re going to ask women to …
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 02:39 PM

“Deadbeat dad” is just as common of an expression as either of the ones you named. Lots of people criticize shitty or absent fathers.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/26 08:14 PM

Not RP but this seems pretty strictly tied to the context in which it’s brought up. There have been threads in this sub where women are shown data that portrays women in a bad light. Instead of accepting that sometimes women are wrong, often times the response to that data is some kind of explanation as to why “it’s different” or “it’s more nuanced than that”.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/26 07:04 PM

I think this is probably more easily explained by: -women aged 18-29 dating men who are older -women thinking they are in relationships with guys who consider themselves single

Do you also think that women who are being financially supported by their partners are attached anchors? Do you think financially successful men are better off single?

You are doing an unbelievable amount of projection based on how much you hate men. At no point did I say that I don’t believe you. Or I could pick and choose the risks I’m willing to take. It’s not like it’s the only reason I don’t want kids. Even if a kid came out perfectly healthy, I still personally don’t want to raise one. I give props to those who do, but it just isn’t for me.

I’m not sure how old you are, but my wife and I (early 30s) still get comments from people saying eventually we’ll get bored of our lives and start having kids. The comments are easy to ignore but damn I figured by this age people would trust that we both know what we want out of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:37 PM

So…nothing? I’m just sharing my own personal opinion and experience as someone who doesn’t want kids. I swear some of you just scroll around this app looking for something to disagree with.

Fair enough. Any woman that doesn’t breastfeed but stays at home is a mooch. Solid criteria.

Not the target man of the question, but I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a blue collar guy with a dirty job on Reddit shitposting about women benefiting from men’s labor. I work a boring, white collar job that could probably disappear tomorrow with minimal real world impact. I do not feel bad living off of the hard work of men with dangerous jobs. I feel thankful that people are willing to do them and sad that some people are doing them because they don’t have other options. We’re seeing e…

Just never pictured myself as a father. When I was younger I thought I’d grow into the idea and be more comfortable with it eventually but my feelings never changed. I don’t think people should have kids unless they are enthusiastic about it and willing to deal with the full range of health outcomes and all of the work required. I’m none of those things.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 07:07 PM

Thank fully most women respected the decision, yeah. A few, similar to what happened with you, thought that I would change after spending more time with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 07:05 PM

Anyone in their 30s who wants to remain permanently child free needs to understand that they are narrowing their dating pool. In my late twenties when I was on dating apps it was difficult as a child free guy to find women who didn’t think I’d eventually change my mind. Is what it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 06:22 PM

If you think only the top percentage of women are getting women pregnant you need to go outside and look around.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 06:19 PM

A lot of these women who think that men dislike them for being “too strong” or “willing to occupy space” are actually just really difficult to deal with and make for wildly unpleasant partners. It’s just easier to tell yourself that you’re too much of a good thing than it is to accept that something about you is not likable. It’s no different than guys who think they are too nice and that’s why they can’t get laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 04:05 PM

This looked like shit when women did it and only looks worse on men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 02:10 PM

When women say they hate when their guy friend ruins the friendship by confessing feelings, they usually aren’t talking about acquaintances because with them there’s no friendship to ruin.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:47 PM

I think what you’re missing is that sometimes the tall, jacked guy will also get rejected or have women react poorly to his advances. In those moments he also needs to read the room.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:23 PM

Personally barring extreme approaches like harassment, I wouldn’t care much. As long as it’s clear that you are approaching and not just being friendly, the approach itself will have basically 0 impact on my answer.

I don’t think the comparisons are hurting anyone. It’s not like these men are telling their wives how crazy the other women they’ve fucked were. Anonymous Reddit posts comparing previous partners isn’t really any different than leaving the thoughts unsaid.

Do you think men are the ones driving the conversation about Ariana Grande’s body?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 02:45 AM

Right. So the power dynamics and culture that these church going boys grew up in has to be a factor. They were in environments that forced submission and conformity just like the girls were. Sounds like either the men and women who grew up in those environments are both responsible for speaking up in situations like Jesse’s or neither of them are.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 10:55 PM

A majority of the children directly harmed by members of the church were boys. Men are the ones doing the abuse and overwhelmingly boys are the ones being groomed and abused. Framing the church as an institution that only helps men and harms women is somewhere between ignorant and insane.

Except it isn’t “one side”. In the example YOU picked there were women present for the joke who didn’t do anything either. Of course you have an excuse for why that happened because you’re unwilling to see women as complicit or as evil as you see men. The phrase “it’s all men” really only works if you’re committed to excusing the action or inaction of women, which it is painfully clear that you’re willing to do. I’m not expecting it to be a dunk. I’m pointing out that if you want to make generalizations about men based on voting you’ll need to do the same about other groups. And yes of course when men vote for Trump it’s because they are evil and support rape but when women vote for Trump it’s because they were conditioned to be assaulted. Nothing is their responsibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 04:56 PM

It’s also an ineffective way to get a message across if/when black Americans say “it’s all white people”. I think at a certain point you have to ask yourself if you want to have nuanced conversation that can potentially improve things for your marginalized community or if you just want to express your anger at the perceived oppressor.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 01:40 PM

The current economy and job market are impacting both men and women. It’s not like we live in a world where all women are working high paying job and all men are begging for table scraps. You choosing to believe that love and a family are impossible for you isn’t something you can blame on the world. Seeing that you’re black pill I doubt we’ll have a meaningful conversation or ever agree on this point.

I think there are some things you got wrong and some things you got right. Yes, more women are entering the corporate world more than men. This does not mean that 50 years from now we won’t see an imbalance in positions of power. There can, and I’m not sure if there is because I haven’t looked into any stats, be an imbalance in career growth opportunities even if women are working in entry and mid level positions. Catcalling may not be oppression but it can certainly leave women feeling unsafe. …

That is the exact opposite of the context of the comment thread I responded to. I would also like to know how many men you are currently dating to come up with this observation. You don't have to date people to understand if they're basic and boring or not. Then how are you evaluating these behaviors? Standing in line at a grocery store? Every reason that you list here is bad, but even if you firmly believe this to be true: good luck. Go 20-30 years as a virgin and try to find a hot, fertile 20 year old. I am on the edge of my seat to hear how it goes.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:59 PM

What about unplanned pregnancy? Before you call it an edge case, ~42% of US pregnancies are unplanned. I imagine some number of the men who are asking for paternity tests come from this large percentage.

You’re going to permanently deny yourself sex because you’re not sure which women you’ll be attracted to in 40 years?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 07:10 PM

Going without sex after losing your virginity does not feel like psychological torture. Also, when you’re older you can just fuck women your age. It may be hard to imagine but when you’re 35 you will (hopefully) find 35 year old women hot.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 07:03 PM
2

Agreed. Sexual attraction means nothing in a friendship. Now, surely you can see that in my comment I am not talking about sexual attraction at all and am instead talking only about friendship so I can better understand how the person I responded to defines homophobia. This is made clear by the first sentence: “let’s say it wasn’t about sex”
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 06:28 PM
1

Yes, I’m sure it happens. I think it’s dishonest and unreasonable to say it is the only or even primary reason that men date bisexual women.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 06:06 PM
2

I think there are some (read: not all) blue pillers who subscribe to the train of thought that being kind to women is the right thing to do and have just taken that to an extreme where women can do wrong and if they do any wrong well then it’s nothing compared to what the evil men do. Makes it very difficult to have conversations with some (again, read: not all) of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 03:15 PM
3

Let’s say it wasn’t about sex. If someone said “I would never be friends with a gay person” would you not see that as homophobia despite also understanding that no one is entitled to friendship?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 03:12 PM
1

Yeah, so women are more likely than men to discriminate by sexuality and it isn’t as simple as “heterosexual people are attracted to heterosexual people”.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 02:53 PM
3

Men aren’t entirely indiscriminate. Men are more likely to discriminate based on weight, previous number of partners, height, etc than sexuality.

1

You are free to believe whatever you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 10:09 PM

That actually doesn’t answer the question I asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 08:04 PM

Do you see how it’s implied by saying the reason straight men are willing to date bisexual women is for threesomes?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 07:58 PM

So, from your POV when women discriminate against bisexual men it’s fine, but when men are more open to women of different sexual identities it’s selfish? Women discriminating by sexuality good Men not discriminating by sexuality bad Fascinating.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 07:20 PM
14

Well then you did an awful job of getting your point across.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 04:45 PM

If this is true why do we not see the same issue in the opposite direction? Straight men are more willing to date bisexual women than straight women are to date bisexual men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 04:06 PM

You can’t fix mistakes you made in the past, but you can stop feeling entitled going forward. You don’t need a Time Machine to not feel entitled to someone’s body or time.

3

Do you think there is anything wrong with women discriminating against bisexual men in dating?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 03:22 PM

Absolutely not. Feeling like you are owed something is entitlement. Showing aggression or anger is acting on that entitlement.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 02:47 PM

I agree that most people don’t talk about whether or not they think lesbian sex is hot IRL, but it’s a well researched idea that men are significantly more open to dating bisexual women than women are to dating bisexual men.

The comment you’re replying to said “majority” not “all”. Your husband’s preferences don’t change that of the average man.

Here is the survey commonly cited for the stat. Separately and anecdotally have you ever heard a bisexual woman talk about being rejected on the basis of her sexuality? I know I haven’t. But seems like most people in this thread have heard of bisexual men discussing that type of rejection.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:56 AM

Why is dying before your partner reaches their late 50s amazing?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:45 AM

An overwhelming majority of bisexual women are in relationships with straight men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:33 AM

Most men aren’t rich at 42, so in most cases this is a horrible deal for the 20 year old woman. It’s also a horrible deal for the man. Spending all of your teens, twenties, and thirties celibate in hopes that you will fuck and marry a hot 20 year old when you’re 40 is an absolutely insane gamble. 20+ years of virginity is not going to make men less depressed.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:17 AM
11

If this is the case, why don’t we see straight men rejecting bisexual women in this way?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 10:57 AM

I’ve never really felt like I needed a system. I’ve met women primarily through my hobbies and whenever that wasn’t working I used the apps. I did okay on the apps, and I guess the closest I had to a “system” was keeping the text conversation short and trying to schedule a first date relatively quickly. I did not like wasting time and texting people for days.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 12:58 AM

I don’t mind paying for nails and hair from time to time. It’s a nice surprise for my wife on occasion. I’d probably pay for a boob job because I like fake boobs and our relationship is healthy enough that I’d assume it wasn’t being done with plans to leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 10:06 PM
17

Some women can handle rejection poorly. On average are they worse than men? Probably not. In the study you mentioned do the women who have negative feelings after rejection act on them? Feeling sad or upset after rejection is normal and not indicative of bad handling. Lashing out, name calling, violence, etc are all different than just having negative feelings.

How do you explain the millions of women in happy heterosexual relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:17 PM

Lifestyle compatibility is the biggest difference. I’m friends with women who love going out to bars or clubs every weekend. I’m friends with a woman who has been traveling and remotely working as a digital nomad for 3 years. Both of these are completely incompatible with my lifestyle and would make a relationship unsustainable. Despite that, they are great friends with really interesting stories to tell.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 05:21 PM

I don’t know if you are misreading my comment or are trying your hardest to find bad intentions where there are none, but I’ll make it very clear: I have close female friends. /r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 04:48 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 04:07 PM
13

What are you talking about? Where in my comment did I say that I’m trying to date women I am incompatible with?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 04:03 PM
15

That’s fair if that’s a dealbreaker for you. I’ve also met women who were incredibly insecure about the fact that I had close friendships with women. It was a dealbreaker on first dates more than once. So as always, different people want and expect different things.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 03:39 PM
36

This really only helps if the women you are friends with are similar to the type of women you’re hoping to attract. This is not the case for me, so while my female friends are very important to me and I think it’s good to have a diverse social circle that allows you to see women as complete human beings, their advice never did shit for me.

Do you consider it sexual violence when women body shame men? This isn’t a setup for a gotcha, just asking a yes or no question.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:50 PM

So what’s your suggestion? If pushing for 50/50 leaves women vulnerable what do you think is the better dynamic?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:19 AM
86

I don’t think most people who support 50/50 relationships mean it in such a rigid way. It’s just an easy shorthand way to describe a relationship that doesn’t have the standard provider and SAHM/SAHW dynamic. That being said, yeah if she’s working part time because the rest of the time she’s home with the kid and he doesn’t adjust the financial split accordingly, he’s an asshole.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:05 AM

No, I do not see that as an attractive or unattractive thing. It’s mostly neutral. The only time it’s really a big consideration is women who want to wait too long and even then all it tells me is that we are incompatible.

No, have had one night stands and casual / short term situations with women after sleeping with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:05 PM
6

I’ve had 6 LTRs, some women wanted to wait until date 3 or 4, some women I slept with on the first date. I’ve had a few casual relationships, those are about 50/50 on whether we slept together within the first couple of dates. I am now married, and we did not wait very long at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:44 PM
5

Sure. My first hand experience is in line with my friends. The amount of time I have to wait for sex does absolutely nothing to change whether a woman is long term relationship material.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:04 PM
15

Because this post is based on anecdotes I feel comfortable countering with mine: 0 of my married or LTR friends waited long to sleep with their partners when they started dating.

I think some men do offer protection to some women. Yes, this is mostly protection from other men, so I think it’s in line with OP’s point that we all acknowledge that A LOT of the danger women face comes from other men.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 04:02 PM
22

I think some of the disconnect is the lack of nuance in the language. I think we can all agree men, on average, pose a larger threat to women than other women do. That being said, it is laughable to imply that women are not at all part of the problem. Men harm women more than women do but women do harm both men and other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 03:46 PM
4

The men who fuck on the first date are not fucking the kind of women who would ever make anyone wait until the third for a peck on the cheek. The virgins get called entitled not because they are virgins, but because they want women to fix their virginity and dating problems. Yeah man, sometimes you click with someone right away, sometimes it’s a slow burn. This happens to everyone and isn’t indicative of anything. I’ve dated women who I knew from day 1 I wanted to be with, others took a bit. Con…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:16 AM

So, after sex how long are you obligated to stay with a person? Or do you think everyone who breaks up a partner they’ve had sex with a rapist?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:10 AM

If you sleep with someone and they are horrible in bed and you realize that you don’t want to continue having sex with them, you think that’s rape?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:59 AM
1

Well above the reference range at all times. Testosterone levels aren’t an issue for me at all. I have plenty of sex drive with women I want to sleep with, it’s just that not all good looking women fall into that category.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:51 AM

Much like any other job, the “benefits” are dictated by your employer. If your husband isn’t a piece of shit, you should have time off. If your household is not on the brink of financial ruin, there should be money going towards your retirement. There’s also always the option of not being a SAHM.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 10:35 PM
1

When I was on the apps I ignored women who opened with “hi”. So, the other women making actual opening moves were appreciated.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:17 PM

It was just a nice change of pace from always having to initiate the conversation. It wasn’t really a consent thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 02:48 PM
67

I don’t really see it as a big safety benefit for women. If fear of violence is the safety concern, approaching a guy first doesn’t change whether or not that guy is violent.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 02:26 PM
-2

You know there’s a third option where you’re up front about wanting a relationship to develop but don’t necessarily need to fuck on day 1, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 02:01 PM
0

Fair enough. I appreciate that you’re consistent across the gender spectrum for content creators and the responsibility for the messages to be misinterpreted.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 01:59 PM
3

Agreed on that first point for sure. Second, I have to disagree there. Lots of people cut to 8% and have plenty of time and energy left to be judgmental dickheads. It’s good that you aren’t worried about what others have going on, but I would not generalize that to all gym bros. Not at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 01:58 PM
2

Because for lots of people it is stable enough. There are so many people who are in relationships (that appear stable from an outside POV) who have never gone to therapy or spent any time doing deep introspection. For a young man looking around and trying to figure out dating it’s easier to come to the conclusion that RP has “enough” for them than it is to decide to unpack deeper rooted issues. Some, or hopefully many, of these men may realize in time that the basics they learned weren’t enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 01:56 PM
8

Couple of points of disagreement. A lot of “nice guys” aren’t mad at the “fuck boys” they are mad at women for choosing them. Still dumb but different than what you’re saying. Also, as a lifelong gym bro I can assure you that a lot of them are not self critical at all. There are a TON of gym bros who believe they are god’s gift to earth and that they are perfect in every way. Also, lots of them go out of their way to make fun of fat people. Hating fat people is probably like 10% of the short for…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 01:49 PM

So what’s the solution? If I want to make a video about teaching men to be more confident, do I need to state in the video that I do not support manipulative dating tactics or abusive one-sided relationships? If you think that’s reasonable, do you think feminist content creators need disclaimers about not being misandrists?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 01:21 PM
1

There’s no denying that a pipeline like this exists, but for you to admonish all of RP because of the pipeline, you’d need to imply that each of the videos along the way was created with an understanding of their place in the pipeline. Someone making a video to teach young men about tying ties or how going to the gym can improve their chances with women isn’t responsible for the fact that some grifter who hates women might, years later, be a recommended video that auto plays after theirs.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:44 PM
0

Can you give some examples of RP calling men involved in consensual power exchange kink dynamics cucks?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:40 AM

Well of course, not everyone needs to know everything. But there’s no way I’d settle down with or seriously date someone if I didn’t feel like I could share those things with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:28 AM

No, I think it’s actually good for potential partners to know your sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:24 AM

Not having chemistry is a disqualifying factor but not an immediate one like the rest of OP’s examples. It takes some time to realize you don’t have chemistry with someone. If I don’t date tall women it doesn’t take a date or dates for me to disqualify her.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:23 AM

Not quite accurate. You’ll need your ID at the time of voting, but the bigger change is that you’ll need a passport or birth certificate or similar document when registering to vote. So, even people with valid IDs will need a proof of citizenship document when registering or reregistering. That said… yes this is a horribly ineffective way to stop women from voting, probably because it’s an act targeted at illegal immigrants.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 09:36 AM
2

I’m only using the word harmful because you used it to describe RP beliefs that need to be deconstructed. If I am misunderstanding what you’re talking about why can you not give a direct answer to: What are the harmful beliefs you are talking about? Who is being harmed?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:12 AM
2

So when you said No I want to hear the reasons the red pill has for why deconstructing harmful beliefs is not done. What were the beliefs that were harmful if not the beauty standards your post is asking people to reevaluate.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 11:51 PM
2

You did. instead of asking whether your own ideas about beauty, gender, and desirability are unnecessarily narrow?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 11:43 PM
1

If your point was never about dating people you’re not attracted to, why do you label the current standards and preferences as harmful? Who is being harmed by the standards as they exist today?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 11:27 PM
3

Good luck getting a straight answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 08:43 PM
3

Yeah, getting approached by a woman I’m not attracted to is not going to do anything at all in terms of making me more interested in her.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 08:03 PM
2

What is the end goal of RP men deconstructing these beauty standards if not encouraging them to date or sleep with women who currently fall outside of them?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 07:49 PM
3

How is it a made up 50s fever dream? There are women, today, in 2026 who are conventionally attractive. There are millions of women who are not fat, disabled, old, or trans. How are the standards that real people are meeting right now based on a fever dream?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 07:47 PM
2

How is it a strawman? They are your fucking words. Why aren't men encouraged to examine why they dismiss older women, fat women, disabled women, or trans women out of hand? Are these not the “harmful” beliefs you’re asking RP to deconstruct? Again, what is harmful about men dismissing fat or disabled women?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 07:31 PM
5

What is harmful about not wanting to fuck / date fat or disabled women?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 07:02 PM
2

The act that would require a passport that matches the name you used to register to vote? Do you think having to get a new passport is the same as having your right to voting completely removed?

Which American politicians are pushing for the repeal of the 19th right now? I’ve never heard this from anyone other than evangelical pastors and insane Twitter trolls.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 06:08 PM
2

What makes “repeal the 19th” a different context? It’s never actually going to happen, it’s just a dumb internet comment made in response to a nonsensical post from a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 06:02 PM
2

There’s also, arguably, less pay off. Lots of people are aware that they are influenced by the world around them and the culture they are immersed in and are largely okay with it. People see improvement of the physical self and one’s social status as a solution to the immediate problem of “I am struggling to find an attractive woman to have sex with” Spending time thinking about whether or not they’d fuck a trans woman with a dick or why they like big tits doesn’t really help them move forward. …
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 05:54 PM
3

Kinda sounds like you didn’t start this thread to learn about red pill beliefs and instead just wanted to tell red pillers you think they’re dumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 05:31 PM
1

Why do you think it’s appropriate for you to tell someone their issues don’t actually matter? Do you think it’s reasonable for men to dismiss the hurtful things said to or about women because it’s just their “fee fees” being hurt?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 05:11 PM

Different women bring totally different things to the table and it’s up to their prospective partners to decide if it’s enough. For myself, the women I have dated have always brought good company, humor, intimacy and kindness. Some of the other more “traditionally feminine” traits mean very little to me. I don’t need a woman to cook or clean for me, I am capable of doing that for myself. Similarly, I don’t want to provide in full because I’m not interested in dating a woman who cannot take care …

I think those things are a waste of time and would recommend avoiding them at all costs. Hating women doesn’t get anyone anywhere. But from the limited RP content I’ve encountered isn’t one of the major messages to hit the gym and improve your looks, wealth, and social status?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 02:00 PM
5

I’m not red pill but it seems pretty clear to me that they want to fuck hot women. They don’t want to expand their standards to include less attractive women. Seems like a lot of them don’t really expect women to fuck unattractive dudes either, so they center their efforts on becoming high status enough for attractive women. Seems pretty straightforward: get hot and you can fuck hot people. IMO that’s a better thing to work towards than “stay unattractive and fuck less attractive people”
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 12:19 PM

Last week in this very sub I had several women try to explain to me why women committing domestic violence isn’t really that bad. Excuses ranged from men having more money and thus being better equipped to recover from abuse to insinuating that female DV is justified because it’s always reactive (ya know, the men and women that they are beating deserved it!) So yeah, there are definitely people who believe in the moral superiority of women regardless of scenario.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 11:14 AM

“Men bad” has a better ring to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 11:11 PM

In my early 20s I’d have agreed. Now that sounds like way more fucking work than it’d ever be worth.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 11:11 PM
0

Perhaps different men want different things? No, couldn’t be. That makes too much sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 10:47 PM
1

I was not talking about that scenario. I was responding to the “don’t let men string you along” part of the comment and asking if the scenario presented by OP really counts as stringing someone along. Yes, dating someone and getting them pregnant multiple times should make it very clear for everyone involved that the relationship is serious.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 08:36 PM
2

That is exactly what’s happening here, yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:19 PM
17

This entire post reads like you just don’t know what asking someone out means. A relationship that develops through friendship still involves one friend asking the other out. Someone has to initiate the conversation about turning the relationship romantic and/or sexual.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 12:55 PM
3

The same way I ask people out. I meet someone, enjoy the time I spent with them, and ask if they’d like to spend more time together.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 12:52 PM
5

I really don’t think so. I’m in my 30s now with several female friends who I am very close to and have been for years, but had I not met those women in high school and college and stayed friends I don’t think I’d be really developing new female friendships now. Not that my feelings towards friendships with women have changed, there just aren’t really as many opportunities for those friendships to start up these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 11:36 AM
5

I do not agree that sex devalues women. She wasn’t being strung along if she never told him what she wanted. Why are you assuming that she is doing things with this man that she isn’t interested in doing in the future? If you’re worried about future partners thinking you’re treating them worse than you treated your ex…. Literally just don’t do that?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 11:48 PM
9

Men also provide sex and validation to women in relationships. What housework was your friend doing if they were not living together? You even said in your post they cooked together, not “she cooked for him”
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 11:32 PM
2

6% year round is crazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 10:30 PM

Yeah, I don’t agree with OP’s framing but knew it wasn’t worth the time to debate it. Agree on the opportunity cost, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:48 PM
6

I don’t think the onus is entirely on the guy in the situation. I think he should’ve told her he was looking for something casual, and she should’ve told him she was expecting to be moving towards marriage. I disagree with people saying it’s all her fault for not speaking up not because I think it’s his fault but because I think they’re just two people who never communicated and as a result they both didn’t really get what they wanted.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:51 PM
1

I was talking specifically about the situation OP described.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:35 PM
-2

Is it really stringing along if neither party was ever clear about what they wanted?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:17 PM
-1

Anyone who seriously sees that as a red flag isn’t worth talking to.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:03 PM
9

So, neither of them were up front with their expectations but she was the one being used? How does that work?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 07:29 PM
5

Or maybe communication in this instance refers to: Her saying she wants a relationship that is serious and ideally results in marriage. Him saying he wants to have consistent sex and a good time but isn’t interested in marriage. Ya know, two people telling the other what they are hoping to get out of their relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 07:27 PM
6

I don’t agree with those men. I think there should always be a conversation pretty early on where both sides are honest about what they’re looking for. Saves a lot of hassle.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 06:30 PM
16

I would date for a year without the intention to marry, but would definitely make that clear.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 06:20 PM

Hell yeah, the daily “men bad” post is up.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 05:23 PM

You’re telling me that you paid a cam girl for cam sex and she came and the ended the session before you could finish?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:08 PM

If you’re consistently with women who orgasm and immediately want sex to end, consider that they are faking.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 10:50 AM

sample size of 3 in general Well, I guess you just gotta stop having sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 05:04 PM

Then if you do actually meet them you have to actually talk to them which can be awkward if they keep talking about stuff you have no interest in like football or school Shocking: person in early 30s has hard time relating to high school and college students.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 04:41 PM
12

Well, when you, at 33, prefer your men 18-20 yes a lot of the respondents to your posts for sex will be too old. Also, if you weren’t fucking 18 year olds maybe they’d be better in bed and would know to bring condoms. You’re seeking inexperienced men, yeah your experience might suck.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 04:24 PM
2

Yes. It has been one of the largest topics of discussion on TikTok for over a week. There are a LOT of women saying it’s somewhere between coercion and sexual harassment.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 03:01 PM
5

Do you think perhaps RP could argue that enough women are like that for the phrase to still hold meaning while acknowledging that not literally every single woman acts like that? I have no horse in this race but I’ve learned that a lot of the women in this sub have no issues with generalizing men despite understanding that not every single man thinks and acts the same way. Curious to see how that applies in the opposite direction.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:35 PM
5

Agree 100%. So how would listening to women cause red pill beliefs to fall apart?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:25 PM

The 33 year old woman (OP) who prefers to fuck 18 year old virgins.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:09 PM

Surely women will be flocking to this thread to call out this predatory behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:28 PM

How do you suggest men reconcile different women telling men completely different things?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:26 PM

Who gets to decide which women are normal enough to listen to?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:16 PM

You prefer fucking 18 year old virgins? OP please tell me you’re in your early 20s at the absolute oldest
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:09 PM

There are a lot of posts recently that seem to be looking for a circlejerk more than a debate
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 03:08 PM

This post strips women of all agency, don’t have a kid and become a stay at home mom if the single source of income for your family isn’t a good one. Both the men and the women in auditions like this should exercise better judgement.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 02:57 PM

God damn, I think you just described the most nightmarish scenario for most men. Great guy who supported you in every single humanly possible way and would make a “great husband” but still just the true angel ex. Edit: I should clarify before someone misinterprets. This isn’t your fault and no one should be mad at you for this, but it was a brutal read.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/26 02:37 AM

I’m in my early 30s, so not far from the old people you’re talking about. We were using dating apps and messaging people on Instagram, too. A lot of us were in college in the 2010s man. People have changed a bit since then but a lot of the apps you’re using now were around then too.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 09:14 PM
1

Yeah I think that’s definitely the case for some people. I think there are also some people who just don’t really have a good idea of how many calories are in common foods. Plenty of people don’t really understand serving sizes or nutrition labels all that well, and really do think they’re eating way less than they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 08:52 PM
1

Sometimes, yes definitely. On the other hand there is research that suggests people who claim to be diet resistant are underreporting their calorie intake while overreporting their movement, leading to a poor understanding of why weight loss is not working for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 08:49 PM
1

Fair enough, no harm with us agreeing to disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 08:18 PM

Like the two times I clarified and said explicitly that I agree with you and that these conversations should only happen when appropriate? Or do you mean like the three times I also said that men should stop attacking random women? Do those count as clarification?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 08:08 PM
1

Yes. Those men are bad people who should not be leaving comments like this on strangers posts.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 08:06 PM
1

Again, I don’t know why you said that because at no point did I imply or suggest people should attack random women.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:58 PM
1

That’s kinda my point? They know what a healthy diet is (in this case the primary definition of a healthy diet really only needs to be an adequate number of calories), but they don’t know that they aren’t following it. These are people who, if asked why are they are overweight, may tell you that they’re eating right and exercising but don’t know what they are doing wrong. Those are the exact kind of people that could benefit from what I’m talking about (of course, only when such conversation is …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:56 PM
1

It isn’t an I told you so at all. It’s directly relevant to the analogy presented in the comment I responded to. Some people don’t know that they are making bad choices, I think it can be (within reason and when prompted) acceptable to tell people that they should have made different choices. I don’t care if you don’t agree with me, but it doesn’t make any sense to say it’s weird to care about. I’m literally just answering the question asked and explaining my reasoning.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:36 PM
1

Like I said in the screenshot, I figured it was implied that attacking random people was bad. I am an adult talking to other adults, I apologize for assuming we all understood that harassing strangers was inappropriate.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:34 PM
1

I did not say anywhere in my post that you should attack random people. You are trying so fucking hard to make it seem like I said something I didn’t. I do not know what your problem is.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:33 PM
1

A lot of them don’t know that. Someone who truly believes they are eating 1200 calories a day does not know that they need to eat less food to lose weight because in their minds their intake has gone about as low as is sustainable.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:28 PM
2

Oof. PCOS and insulin resistance can make stuff challenging for sure. I come from a family full of type 2 diabetics, so I get it. I don’t blame anyone for not having the time or the bandwidth to make diet their biggest priority, life is hard for lots of people right now for lots of reasons. I just think that there’s no good path forward for fixing a problem if you can’t be honest about the existence of the problem, ya know? No worries on the ramble, it’s an important topic for me as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:25 PM
1

Probably because I said it two other times elsewhere in this thread and that isn’t relevant to the particular comment I was responding to?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:23 PM
1

<image> And then I said the same thing here.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:21 PM
1

Because further down in this thread I told you I assumed that was understood and didn’t need to be explicitly mentioned. <image>
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:21 PM
1

Sure. Agreed. Lots of things can be passed down genetically and some people are predisposed to various diseases and conditions including obesity. That doesn’t change that there are people who are convinced they are eating 1200 calories a day when they aren’t. The only point I was trying to make is that some people do not know or understand that they are eating too much food. That’s all.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:17 PM
1

In some cases it’s denial for sure, in some it can be ignorance.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:16 PM
1

Yes, I agree with you 100% that sometimes there are underlying issues that need to be addressed and it isn’t always as simple as just eating less. I should have made that clearer in my first comment. I am not recommending this as a blanket suggestion to every single person who is struggling with their weight, that wouldn’t make sense. I’m suggesting that there exist some people out there who, despite having no underlying reasons, do not understand that the cause of their obesity is eating too mu…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 07:08 PM

They often are yes. Sometimes they underreport their intake and overreport their exercise. These are people who describe their eating as normal and say there is a genetic component to their obesity.

Despite saying more than once that these conversations should only be had with people who are either your friend or are looking for feedback, you believe I am supporting me telling random women on the internet that they are fat and that their abuse was their fault? I honestly do not know how to make it any clearer to you that the behavior you’re describing is unacceptable. Ive also said more than once now that the men engaging in it should stop. It feels like you’re committed to putting words in…

Okay, again, they should stop. It’s not a kind thing to do. What else do you want me to say about that? It’s behavior I do not engage in or support.

I work in the fitness industry, there are SO many people who do not think they are overeating. It’s part of why the supplement industry is able to sell green juices and powders and detoxes and fat burners etc. There are so, so many people who do not understand that they are just eating too much food. If my anecdotal experience is meaningless, take a look for yourself. You can hop on any social media app, search for a video or post of a person saying they’re obese despite only eating 1000 calorie…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 06:57 PM

Okay, those men should stop doing that because those women do not want feedback. That doesn’t mean these conversations can’t be helpful in the right context, again with either a friend or with a person who is asking for an explanation as to why something is happening.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 06:45 PM

Yes obviously. I would never tell a random person that their dating choices fucked up their lives either. I assumed it went without saying that these conversations weren’t with strangers or at the very least were with people expressing confusion over their outcomes.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 06:37 PM
-2

Sure. But there are some people out there who do not know. It would be helpful to tell those people, both in conversations about obesity and poor dating choices. That’s the question being asked. I am not saying we need to tell everyone all of the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 06:29 PM
0

Most yes, but a whole bunch of them don’t know that. There are so many overweight and obese people who think that their problem is hormones or chemicals in the food or medication or genetics.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 06:23 PM
-4

I think it would be helpful to tell a fat person that if for some reason they have no idea how they ended up fat. Which we hear and see quite often. Sometimes for people to know that they need to do something differently in the future they need to understand that they did something wrong in the past.

There are women who criticize men for their preferences. There are men who criticize women for their preferences. Women can be more selective so a larger number of men are filtered out by women’s preferences so men complain about it more. That’s pretty much it, man. As always, venting frustrations about dating is fine. Suggesting that people you’re attracted to are obligated to give you a chance despite you not meeting their standards is not fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 05:39 PM
3

The question wasn’t about proving that selective service was in effect or that men were drafted! The question was literally: Can you name a single man in the last 50+ years fined, imprisoned or who lost benefits from not registering with the selective service? And the response was an article about a man who was fired in 2007 for not registering with selective service. The article was a very direct answer to the question that was asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 05:08 PM
3

Except I’m not confused at all. This entire thread has been you throwing random objections at the source despite it being exactly what the person who asked about the draft was looking for. Now after none of those objections will stick because they are completely irrelevant you fall back to saying it doesn’t prove anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 05:01 PM

Each group spins their narrative in their own way. Chronically single men say that women are wrong for their standards, chronically single women say that there are no good men left. Both should probably work on themselves if finding a partner is important.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 04:55 PM
3

Except that didn’t happen at all. I wasn’t the person who made the initial argument AND the Wikipedia article he linked references a Supreme Court case from the 2010s about a man who was fired from his job in 2007. Do you read literally any of the sources or comments before you respond? First you said the wiki article didn’t name a man or a case. Despite Elgin vs. Department of Treasury being literally both of those things. Then you said it was a fake article from research gate, which it wasn’t.…

The source I am talking about is a Wikipedia article that did not come from research gate and isn’t a research paper at all. Your link is an Ecology professor from Uruguay saying a now deleted article was published under his name. There is literally nothing linking the two things to each other except for you grasping at straws. Genuinely what the fuck are you talking about?

For sure. I’m sorry that happened to your friends, and I really hope the friend who was pushed out of the car has gotten away from her abuser and is doing better now. I hope I didn’t come across as dismissive of reactive violence as a concept. I know that it’s real, but I do not think it is a blanket narrative that covers all of the domestic violence carried out by women. I think anecdotally we hear MUCH more about women being abused by their partners and that can make it seem hard to imagine th…

And while injury was more likely when violence was perpetrated by men, in relationships with reciprocal violence it was the men who were injured more often (25 percent of the time) than were women (20 percent of the time). Women can be as likely to injure men given that in reciprocally violent relationships men are injured more often.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 02:56 PM

You continue to assume that women hit men for good reasons and men hit women for evil. You default to words like “slap” for women and “punch” for men, despite being shown data that does use this language at all that shows you women are just as abusive and can be just as likely to injure men. This is just “men bad, women good” taken to an honestly comical extreme. This entire thread started as a pushback against that idea that it’s ALWAYS a man. At the very least by this point can we agree that t…

We are getting closer to agreeing in full, imo. Murder is worse than attempted murder, both are primarily done by bad people. If group A commits murder more often while group B commits attempted murder more often, it would be ridiculous to say all bad things come from group A.

women’s abuse, generally, is reactive Except it isn’t. Women are more often perpetrators of violence in relationships where violence is non reciprocal

I am in agreement that causing more harm is worse. I’m pushing back against the example because the commenter coming up it in defense of female abusers is classic “women are wonderful”. There are noble reasons to steal, there are no noble reasons (especially in nonreciprocal settings!) to hit your partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 02:13 PM

Your example sucks. The intent behind stealing formula to feed your child and stealing jewelry aren’t the same. Yes, strangling your partner is worse than slapping them but both are done with the intent to cause harm. The only way your example makes sense is if you’re trying to imply women don’t actually want to cause harm when they abuse their partners. As others pointed out they would if they could, in most cases they just can’t. Anyway, If the male partner being bigger makes such a big differ…

Michael B. Elgin and several other employees of the U.S. Department of the Treasury were fired for willingly and knowingly failing to register for the Selective Service, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 3328, which forbids any federal executive employees who committed such an omission. From the article.

I was the person you said that to! This entire thread, except for the first comment, has been you talking to me! How the fuck are you going to accuse me of not reading the thread? Yes context matters but I am not context illiterate for answering a question YOU asked. “How can meta glasses be used as an accessibility aid?” Here is how “You are a predator who doesn’t understand context.” You are hellbent on twisting what I am saying into things I do not believe, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why.

Yes, I’d be more cautious but I wouldn’t suddenly start saying that only women harm people because that obviously is not true.

Jesus christ. No one said that the accessibility features were unique to meta glasses, we simply pointed out that they exist. I even said in my initial comment that accessibility is neither the intended nor primary use for the glasses. I do not own meta glasses and do not want to record women at all. Not everyone who disagrees with you or questions the things you say is a fucking predator.

These things aren’t contradictory at all. You can be confident and empathetic with a strong work ethic. The idea that you can’t be masculine and liberal is crazy.

You said they don’t help you see despite the fact that they do, in fact, help blind people perceive information and their surroundings and can obviously be used an accessibility aid. I asked the same question. Because yeah, if we are defining a crime as “committed by a person with a penis” it’s not really shocking to see that men make up 99% of those arrested.

Genuinely could not have tossed an easier softball question if I tried.

I believe they can use OCR to help blind or low vision people read documents. They can also describe your surroundings which can of course be helpful for blind and low vision people. Accessibility isn’t their intended or even primary use, but they do more than just record.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 04:27 PM

How can you expect to help someone cope with a feeling you cannot understand? All of your posts continually suggest that people should be satisfied with friendship because that’s enough to satisfy you. It’s okay to not understand something, you don’t have to try to fix it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 04:03 PM

Would you enjoy if people started giving you advice on how to feel sexual or romantic urges?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 03:58 PM

My question is why are you thinking about it? As someone who seemingly does not experience romantic or sexual feelings why are you taking it upon yourself to find solutions for people who do?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 03:55 PM

No. A good friend and roommate would help easing the feeling of loneliness but it is absolutely not a replacement for a romantic partner. Not even close.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 03:54 PM
1

If we are talking about facts why would you say there has never been a female shooter if that wasn’t what you meant because it isn’t true? It’s like everyone in this thread is 100% committed to lying and then saying they meant something totally different after the fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 03:33 PM
2

Eh, I’m not too sure about that but I guess my POV it doesn’t matter much. Someone tells me they wanna wait 6 months I’m gonna move on with my life. Whether they are crazy or have valid reasons, its got nothing to do with me
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 03:03 PM
7

I’m having such a hard time understanding why so many people are fighting to defend the phrasing “it’s always a man”. What is the fucking point of saying that when we all know it’s somewhere between completely inaccurate and hyperbole depending on the crime in question?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:55 PM
3

This isn’t gendered. Men get hard thinking about fucking other women. The romance is in the fact that despite knowing other options are available I am choosing to be with my wife the same way she is choosing to be with me.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:46 PM
1

So we’re moving the goal posts from “never a woman” to “mostly men”? Cool.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:44 PM
6

Yes, there’s no 100% effective method for ensuring your partner won’t become an abuser. A 6 month rules hinges on the hope that the kind of guy looking for a 24/7 fuck toy isn’t going to be a very patient man. You don’t have to be subjected to the rule either. If you didn’t want to wait 6 months you could have / should have just left. Personally, I wouldn’t wait that long.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:59 PM
6

Yes of course, but both things are bad. You don’t get to say that the statistics are “close enough to 100%” just because women do less damage. If I slapped my wife none of you would say it’s not a big deal because I didn’t smash her head through a door. Stop moving the goalposts.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:56 PM

The first scenario I have a hard time understanding. She had great experiences and had fun giving head in the past but now she hates it? Seems odd and worth being a little skeptical of. The second scenario makes more sense. I’m assuming she didn’t speak very positively about that relationship? If she described herself as being a living fuckdoll for a scumbag, she is probably trying really hard to make sure future partners see her as more than a hole. The six month rule is her trying to avoid bei…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:46 PM

It has been mind blowing to watch the different ways people in this thread deflect when statistics go against what they want to believe. Men make up an overwhelming majority of both homicide and aggravated assault victims and perpetrators. Saying that men only pick fights with women is completely ignoring reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:31 AM
2

Hey man, some of us purple guys are happily married but can still call out bullshit when we see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:28 AM

Yes, I think there would have been close to unanimous support for a post that said women should be cautious around men they don’t know well and take reasonable precautions for their safety.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:18 AM
0

Probably not very many. That doesn’t mean that flashing money is the only way to attract a partner or that marrying a woman who only desires you for money is a good plan. But like I said to someone else above, if that’s what you want in life go for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:10 AM
2

OP himself is saying that being a passport bro isn’t about leading with money. Look, if meeting a woman who desires you because you have money is sufficient for you, I’m in no position to judge.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:09 AM
4

What do you mean never? Women kill their husbands every year. Are you talking about school shootings for some reason? We’ve seen a female shooter there, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:05 AM
2

So to recap, it’s not all men but it’s always a man. If it isn’t always a man then it’s mostly men, except for when it’s closer to 50/50 but then it’s okay because men can bounce back from abuse quicker.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:55 AM
2

Neither of those things are always men. As mentioned elsewhere women commit as much domestic violence as men. If your definition of sexual violence includes coercion or being made to penetrate, then women do a good amount of that too.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:53 AM
6

It’s a generalization most of us hear ALL the time and are kind of sick of. I can’t imagine you enjoy when men make generalizations about all women even when there’s some merit to their grievances. I think it’s important to not piss off the people who we want to hear us out. Not that anyone needed to be coddled, but starting a conversation with suggesting men are the only ones doing everything wrong then ending it by asking men to be more empathetic is probably not going to be fruitful.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:33 AM
6

I didn’t address the content of the post because it’s tagged as debate and generally I agree with a good portion of what OP said. Words matter and the title is an unreasonable generalization, that’s all I’m really arguing.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:28 AM
4

100% agree with you. But you can agree with me that both are happening and both are bad, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:25 AM
10

It actually isn’t whataboutism at all. Saying “it’s always a man” very clearly implies “it’s never a woman”. I am disagreeing with the implication in the title of the post. If OP posted “men are frequently violent” I wouldn’t have brought women up at all because it would be whataboutism.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:24 AM
6

Im trying to understand, in a simple yes or no: is it okay that women hit their partners because they do less harm?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:22 AM
6

I never said it was 50/50. I even said elsewhere in this thread that men commit more violent crimes than women, that isn’t really debatable. The only thing I have been arguing is the idea that it’s “always a man”. Does that rape statistic include situations where men were forced to penetrate? I know that there are instances where that is counted separately.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:10 AM
1

I can both be aware of the history of race as a social construct and tell you in real life there’s no difference between a woman telling me she is afraid of all men and a white guy telling he is afraid of all black people. Those are both people I will try my best to avoid.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:02 AM
4

Of course. Men are stronger.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:54 AM

I guess we’ll have to disagree on that. I can only give my lived experience and I’ll say as a black man the women in this thread sound genuinely indistinguishable from the racists I’ve encountered.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:44 AM
17

But it isn’t. Women commit DV at similar rates to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:33 AM
7

What statistic is 1000000000 to 1?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:18 AM
15

Do you see how “men commit more violent acts than women” is a COMPLETELY different statement than “it’s always a man”. If you’re confident that statistics back up your claim, what good is the hyperbole and generalization that makes ~50% of your audience roll their eyes?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:17 AM

A white person deciding how cautious to be around a black person isn’t exercising state power over them either.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:15 AM
34

Sure it’s “always a man” if you want to ignore everything women do wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:05 AM

Of course everyone desires money. I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that OP was talking about wanting a woman to genuinely desire him not his money. Those obviously are not the same thing.

Lusting after a muscular athlete and a skinny guy or dating men of different ethnicities doesn’t mean they don’t know what they want. People are allowed to like different things. Who the fuck is spreading rumors about random half naked women on tinder? What is there to even say? “Hey I saw so and so half naked on tinder” This entire posts and all of your comments really sound like you’re taking a personal experience and generalizing it to all men. That’s incredibly lame and if we’re going to call it out when men generalize women I would expect more people to do the same in this case.

It’s not just outrage content. The left has created a vacuum that is filled by manosphere creators. Young men who are ostracized and vilified by leftist content creators are actively seeking content that isn’t centered around them being evil. Manosphere creators know that and are taking advantage of that. Leftists are the only people who refuse to see what’s happening directly in front of them and instead double down whenever this topic comes up.

Is it even really a double standard or is it reasonable to say there should be a different bar between the kind of person who entertains you (porn star, OF model, movie star, influencer etc) and the kind of person you want to settle down with?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 03:07 PM

How are you coming to that conclusion? How do you know the porn consumption habits of almost all guys in your area? How small is your area that you know what almost all of the men are commenting on women’s pictures? I should be clear in saying that I do think that any men who hold both of these beliefs are being a bit hypocritical. I’m just pushing back against the unfair generalization.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:59 PM

Every time a topic like this comes up we are very eager to tell men that they are talking about two different groups of women….. same logic applies here no? Lots of red pill guys push for “traditional” values and don’t push for hyper sexualization of women at all.

I don’t think it’s a bad post at all, man. I’m just a guy with a different perspective. Yeah, a lot of my closest friends (both male and female) live drastically different lifestyles. We have enough in common and have known each other long enough that there’s plenty to talk about and there’s a ton of emotional investment in each others’ lives, but ultimately best friends are still separate entities whereas good relationships involve some blending of lives.

What do I stand to gain from lying about this?

That’s definitely a lower bar than dating, but still yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 10:52 PM

The biggest thing to me is a difference of lifestyle. I probably wouldn’t date someone who was very passionate about doing adventurous or outdoorsy stuff like kayaking or cliff jumping. On the flip side I definitely wouldn’t date someone who was completely sedentary or had no interest in any physical activity. People in either of those groups can be really cool to hang out with for dinner or drinks or some other activity, but a relationship with them would probably leave one of us unfulfilled.

You’re comparing two different problems really. Men who are complaining about their dating struggle online are often talking about their inability to find any connections. They are not matching with women on apps, they are not going on dates. Women complaining about dating tend to have the option to go on dates but are choosing not to for whatever reason, often a past disappointment. Having a partner also means getting to have your favorite person around all the time, which is pretty amazing. If you feel like you’re having to put up with them, then they aren’t the right person. I don’t think it’s really autistic to want people to say what they mean in a debate subreddit. Either way, I appreciate the edit as I 100% agree with your comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 03:37 PM

I think the biggest flaw in your argument is that unselected men dismiss the huge number of selected men who do not meet that specific physical metrics they think women want. Often times I see unselected men saying that it’s obvious these men aren’t truly desired by their partners. That leaves little room for this conversation to really go anywhere. Short and bald men are chosen daily, it’s not gaslighting for someone to tell you that you still have a chance despite not being 6’ and jacked.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 03:36 PM
5

Well, no. In his OP he said “women get way more leeway”, not “women get leeway and men don’t”. Your comment was speaking in absolutes, his wasn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 03:26 PM

I think finding connection can be a little harder in your 30s, but imo it’s easier to maintain one for the same reasons you mentioned. People have a better idea what they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 01:12 PM
2

You are completely convinced that your psychotic opinion is correct despite hearing from men why they don’t want to entertain the idea. What is the point of this “debate” post? Is it just so you can repeatedly tell men they are ugly and their lives won’t get better?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 12:26 PM
6

When someone sees an ugly man in public and doesn’t interact with him, that isn’t rejection. That’s just going about your day. If they are referring to the men they are actually rejecting, then they’ve probably had at least one conversation with him and are making assumptions based on that interaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 02:38 AM
3

Why do you think this is happening at a large scale? Why do you think unattractive men are immediately being labeled as toxic incels before being spoken to?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 02:32 AM
6

Oh, obviously you can’t actually do that. I assume people mean that they can meet a person and sense the resentment in the way he speaks to / about women. I guess it’s either that or they’re crazy and think they can read people’s minds
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 02:24 AM
13

Yes of course cheating is more toxic than venting, but as to whether or not venting is toxic that obviously depends on how you vent your frustration. “I’m having a hard time meeting women and the apps aren’t working” is very different than “it’s unfair that women aren’t sleeping with me” ya know?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 02:09 AM

If lots of people on both sides are approaching connections with apathy, I’d say that makes the market pretty bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:24 PM

No, he’s asking a clarifying question in the least threatening way humanly possible. People often say there’s pressure to say yes in person because they are afraid of being harmed for saying no. A voice memo should remove that particular fear.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 11:17 AM
2

The fact that he wanted sex early on doesn’t mean he isn’t also looking for an LTR. Again, there are men and women in this sub who talk about having sex within the first few dates and that turning into a LTR. We also have no way of knowing what was in either of their profiles, so I’m not sure how or why you’re placing the responsibility solely on him for disclosing when he wants sex without that info.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 11:00 AM
1

Should women disclose before the first date that they don’t want sex until later on? Do they need to be specific with when sex will be on the table? If not, how is he supposed to know what she considers early? Plenty of women here say they fuck within the first few dates, should they also disclose that prior to the first date? Of course consent can be taken away at any time. Nothing in his voice memo suggested that he thinks otherwise, so I have no idea why that was brought up.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:42 AM

Well, just don’t date women who express disgust towards dating men. There’s nothing good that can come from dating a woman who is unenthusiastic about your relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:26 AM
2

The voice note discourse has been crazy. I’ve seen people calling him a rapist and saying he only asked for consent ahead of time so he could defend himself in court. I’ve seen people calling him coercive and manipulative because he’s “holding the relationship over her head” (they’ve been on one date!!!). Some people are saying he brought it up too soon, some people are saying he should’ve brought it up before the first date. Personally I don’t think he did anything wrong. She doesn’t owe him se…

Ah yes the classic “I didn’t see it, so whatever”. You can’t blame someone’s algorithm when it comes to a polarizing topic like this one. Edit: take a look around this thread and you can see women here dogpiling him and calling him a rapist. Is that also just algorithmic slop?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:17 AM

Yeah, what a mystery
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:15 AM

So ~45% of men had some dating experience in their teenage years and ~55% of men 18-25 have asked a woman out. That seems like it supports what I said above, lots of average men are dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:07 AM
6

Those IG women are most likely bitter dorks. Lots of women in real life have happy and fulfilling relationships, romantic or otherwise, with men.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:00 AM

What percentage of those single men have previous dating experience?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 09:39 AM

Well, no. Gold digging is a behavior not limited to a single socioeconomic class.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 01:32 AM

Women are more likely to be obese than men, per this source. And according to the CDC women of all ages are more likely than their male counterparts to be severely obese. Edit to add: also BMI is not accurate for measuring obesity in male athletes and even if we assume something similar is true for female athletes, there are more men than women playing sports across all levels.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 11:46 PM

It doesn’t have to be a dead bedroom for there to be a libido mismatch. Someone can want sex every day while their partner only wants it 3x a week. That’s far from a dead bedroom but still leaves one person wanting much more.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 11:26 PM
1

Well, I think you moved the goalposts a bit. Men being selfish lovers and thus having less sex doesn’t tell us much about their attraction to their partners. Men watching porn also doesn’t tell us about their attraction to their partners unless you make several assumptions the way you did here. I think you raised some valid points that are worth talking about, but pretty much none if your comments in this thread actually back your initial claim.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:51 PM

Sure, but we have no way of knowing if that’s what’s happening in any of these relationships so what does that have to do with anything?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:38 PM

You can be attracted to different types of people. Watching porn with blondes doesn’t mean I’m not attracted to brunettes.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:07 PM

You’re moving the goalposts. I did not claim the libido mismatch said anything about the man’s attractiveness, it’s just a possible explanation for porn usage in relationships. I agree that women are less sexually driven than men, but do you not see how that can lead to men supplementing the sex they do have with porn usage? Also, yeah, plenty of women report men as being selfish lovers. Surely that’s not helping, but that’s not what we are discussing at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:02 PM

I’d be way more inclined to agree with this take if libido mismatches weren’t such well documented issues. There exists some percentage of men who are attracted to their partners but don’t have sex nearly as frequently as they’d like to. Those men turn to porn.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 09:57 PM

Every time this comes up we are quick to remind men that average men and short men are often partnered, so to your post I’ll say that women with narrow hips, flat asses, fat waists, and skin imperfections are also often partnered. If the standards that women talk about online (6 figures, 6 feet, 6 inches, etc) don’t accurately reflect real life, as women in this sub often claim, then neither do these male standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 09:51 PM
15

If all of this is true why do so many average men have girlfriends?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 06:02 PM

You’re comparing internet complaints to real life couples. As an American man, every single day I see average women with average men.

If I went to a therapist to work through my problems and they called me a privileged oppressor I would leave immediately.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 12:19 PM

It has nothing to do with taking their feelings out on anyone. It’s just a semi derogatory term for a short man, that’s it. It gets used in bodybuilding a lot because a lot of bodybuilders are short.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 11:19 AM

You not believing it’s happened doesn’t mean anything at all. You don’t get to dismiss people’s experiences based on your feelings
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 11:01 AM

OH. I completely misread that, sorry.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 11:00 AM

While I don’t support the hiplet trend at all, the point is that they are shaming women for something completely out of their control, similar to a man’s height. Someone with an apple body shape or stomach rolls can lose weight.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:57 AM

That isn’t how Manlet is typically used at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:55 AM

“If youve been rejected for your height, no you haven’t. It’s your disgusting personality” “I haven’t dismissed anyone”
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:52 AM

TL;DR: men bad. What do you even want to debate?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 09:49 PM

This is almost certainly because most of the replies are guys who are desperate to talk to any woman at all for any length of time about any topic. I get DMs on my posts from time to time mostly because people assume the Zoya in my name means I’m a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:32 PM

This is almost certainly because most of the replies are guys who are desperate to talk to any woman at all for any length of time about any topic.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:31 PM

Honestly I think the most important thing for me has been being open to feedback and understanding that every woman enjoys different things. I also think it’s good to have an understanding of your own personal sexual needs, wants, interests, dislikes, and hard nos. Beyond that, no I’ve never felt a need to level up sexually unless someone that I’m sleeping with tells me that they aren’t getting off.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:06 PM
9

This is mostly unrelated to this post, but it’s a good opportunity to vent something I see here a lot as well. A lot of people in this sub dismiss the experiences of people who disagree with them. I see it time and time again where someone will say “oh I experience xyz routinely” and they’ll be met with “well I’ve never heard of this happening, so that must be a you problem”
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:30 PM

I think the phrasing of this question is awkward but I’d pick the “woman who gives me sex” option. I would not be happy in a marriage or LTR with sex only once a month and since you’re asking ONLY in regard to sex, I guess I’d take my chances with the casual hook or FWB
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 07:43 PM

One could argue that someone building muscle is doing exactly what you suggested in the OP. Of course not all women love big muscles but there are some who do. Perhaps these men are just trying to fill a niche rather than upholding the hegemonic male ideal?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:47 PM
2

So you think I’m upset because you linked bad sources and I questioned them? And no, of course it doesn’t really matter. But it’s a debate sub, dude, you’re supposed to be able to back up the things you say. I’ll check this video out though for sure, thanks for linking.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 04:14 PM
2

If men who try to build muscle do so to compete with other men (your claim), why do most bodybuilders say they receive compliments from other men (also your claim)?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 04:08 PM
3

That post is about people being claimed by deities, not attraction in the way we are talking about. I’m not upset at all and I don’t think it should come across as a negative that I’m asking for information to back up your claims in a debate subreddit.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:49 PM
4

Even if it’s overwhelmingly enforced by men (I’m not going to argue this because I don’t think either of us have a meaningful way of changing the other’s POV) does that mean we can never acknowledge the role women play in upholding it as well? Why is nuance not allowed in this conversation?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:18 PM
5

That’s the same as your comment. One woman guessing what other women think. I could write an opinion piece today titled “10 reasons men prefer unemployed women in their 60s”, it wouldn’t make it true.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:14 PM

I would love to see anything backing the idea that most women prefer Loki. That sounds like a very online opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:57 PM

He took accountability in his first sentence by agreeing with some of the OP. He’s not saying women need to take all or even a majority of the responsibility, just that these standards are definitely upheld by both men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:53 PM
4

I would, yeah. There are a lot of people who are great in bed but suck everywhere else.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:51 PM

The human experience is about much more than efficiency. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your approach, but I also think it’s okay to spend a minute sitting with your feelings and being frustrated or annoyed at a situation before jumping directly to solving it, as long as you don’t dwell too long
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 07:50 PM

People complain about things that suck, even if they understand why those things suck. That’s kinda just human nature. I agree, generally, that we should focus on improving our marketability a bit more than we focus on bitching about the market but I don’t think you’ll ever get people to stop complaining.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 02:26 PM

Lots of men who do need meet any of the standards in your OP are happily partnered. I don’t know anyone that’s ever measured their wrist circumference.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 01:55 PM

Most men do not have status and resources and are not leaving significant estates and assets to their widows. Most men are not 6’2 and shredded with 8 inch dicks.

70 incoming likes for 11k outgoing likes is bad. I’m not sure why you’re dying on this semantic hill. If someone was trying to rent an apartment and only qualified for fewer than 1% of them, would you really correct them when they said they had no options? If so, then we agree to disagree. If not, why not?

Internet dating discourse makes this seem like a much bigger problem than it is. About 80% of my friends are in long term relationships or are married, 0 of those men are hypermasculine providers. People post a lot of stuff on the internet about what their prospective partners should have, but in reality a lot of average men and average women are finding happiness together. Remember that lots of people on the internet are exaggerating or flat out lying.

I can’t speak for all men or even most men, but I do not enjoy the “fight” or the pursuit in early dating. If they wanted a relationship with her they’d still pursue it no matter how early they got laid. You said yourself she is the most shallow person you know, perhaps that’s working against her.

Looks matter but aren’t the only thing that matters. I think most people would agree with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 07:17 PM
4

Why would you bother asking about disadvantages if this was going to be your response when they’re listed? You are being needlessly antagonistic to a person who engaged in good faith with your question, even acknowledging that it wasn’t that serious of an issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 06:36 PM
23

Maybe you’re projecting and there are people here who like to discuss these topics in their free time?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 03:48 PM

That’s not what the meme is implying at all lol
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 12:10 PM
2

I’m not shifting the topic. I’m explaining why I think you’re seeing what you’re seeing and why some men are less sympathetic. I don’t think men are suffering at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 11:42 AM
10

I know that everyone says misandry doesn’t exist and blah blah blah, but I imagine total male sympathy is pretty inversely correlated with the amount of man hating content that gets created.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 10:57 AM
17

You don’t need to be a feminist. Just be kind to people you meet and educate yourself on human rights issues, some of which will be directly tied to women’s rights. You absolutely should not tolerate misandry for the sake of learning about feminism.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/06/26 10:45 PM
6

I don’t think that’s fair to say at all, man. Lots of relationships don’t work out for lots of reasons. Someone who has tried 3 times to find the right partner through LTRs is not the same as someone sleeping around with no interest in committing.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 09:24 PM
13

I don’t think this is always true. Let’s say someone graduates college at 22. They spend a few years establishing their career, maybe they’re in a long term relationships that don’t quite work out, before you know it they are 30 and still looking for “the one”. No promiscuity involved.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 09:22 PM
41

I think you’re describing different groups of women. The ones I know who slept around a lot in their twenties don’t chastise men for sleeping around because they’re too busy fucking them. The ones who dislike promiscuous men are typically in and out of long term relationships trying to find “the one”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 08:34 PM
8

Different women will have totally different opinions on this. Most important thing you can do would be make sure you take no for an answer and don’t push past disinterest.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:42 PM
30

I’ve never understood the “misogyny kills, misandry just hurts feelings” bit. To me, that’s means that we can ignore anything as long as it isn’t causing physical harm? I don’t think that’s a world feminists would want.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/06/26 02:37 PM

“I was popping my pussy and living my best life in these white guy frat houses and I had a roster of guys I would rotate through” is the direct quote.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 11:23 PM
1

No, I think women should stop tolerating men who lie to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 11:04 PM
1

I think lying to your partner is bad and that’s why people are upset. It’s bad that she did it, it would be bad if a man lied about his past too. Idk much about the situation but the few clips I saw about it were mostly people feeling bad for Akash because she was fondly reminiscing on “popping her pussy” with a “roster of frat boys”. Yes obviously what Trump did is worse, that’s why millions of people protest him annually.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 10:58 PM
1

What makes it different?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 04:48 PM
4

Yes, we live in more progressive times than previous generations BUT young men aged 18-22 are definitely becoming more conservative perhaps in response to the very progressive mid 2010s.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/06/26 04:42 PM
4

Tell him you don’t think you’re compatible. It’s only been 2 days and some texts, but ghosting is pretty lame. If he asks for explanation, you can tell him the size is an issue. It’ll suck to hear, but that’s life.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 04:40 PM
4

You’ve never seen or heard of an example of a woman doing something mean or evil?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 04:28 PM
1

I assumed he was talking about social media when he talked about living in the digital age. Beyond that, I agree with you 100%.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 04:10 PM
2

I don’t think that was their argument. I think they were saying that men are less confident due to living their lives on social media in a way previous generations didn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 03:51 PM
9

I mean, we could probably sit here and go back and forth all day naming preferences for each gender. The only point I was trying to make was that that’s just how dating works: people with desirable traits have an easier time than those without them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 03:48 PM
7

Off the top of my head? Men tend to desire thinner women despite obesity rates skyrocketing in the US. I don’t think any of the men here would suggest we should all change our preference to obese women just because more women fall into that category now. Let’s be consistent and not expect women to do what we wouldn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 03:43 PM
10

Yes people who lack desirable traits are at a disadvantage when it comes to dating. This is true of both men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 03:37 PM
4

I don’t think that’s true broadly. I’ve been fortunate enough to talk to plenty of women who consider themselves feminists who don’t approach things that way. There definitely are some women who act like you described, though. It’s really fucking stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 03:26 PM
11

There’s definitely a bit of a knee jerk reaction from some women to blame men when issues are often a little more nuanced.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 02:54 PM
3

Sure, then your problem should be with the question OP posed, not the men who are responding accordingly.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 03:13 PM
7

If speaking ONLY about physical attraction and not the emotional bond, I think this is why it’s important to take care of yourself as you age. There are plenty of men and women in their 40s and 50s who look great. There are plenty who have aged poorly due to neglect. Turning 50 doesn’t mean you automatically have a bad body with bad skin and hair. But also, at least in my experience, as I age my definition of what a “good body” is ages with me. The women I find attractive now are often anywhere …
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 02:41 PM
3

The OP specifically said they didn’t want commenters to consider the emotional bond formed and instead asked only about physical features.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 02:26 PM
7

Different women have different opinions, experiences, perception, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 11:19 AM
3

What is your argument? Do you think all women need to be attracted to all men? Most men? Average men?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 05:23 PM
34

The way I see it, manosphere creators don’t care about men. They care about monetizing male frustration. Male-spaces should be about community and progress, not selling anger and hatred.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates22/06/26 05:20 PM
3

The men at the center of these fictional romance stories usually aren’t average men.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 04:54 PM

Yeah definitely
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 02:19 PM
8

You don’t.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates22/06/26 11:49 AM
5

Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. There are plenty of women whose social media presence is nothing but criticizing the things men do.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 06:51 PM
1

People are not going to stop having sex. Some of those people will always have kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 02:26 PM
85

Yep. Any search for information on misandry leads you to people talking about misogyny
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates16/06/26 10:50 PM
103

Their entire world view hinges on them being good and men being evil. Admitting that they are doing something wrong would shatter that. Much easier to deflect than to reframe the way you see everything.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates16/06/26 03:15 PM
3

Okay, fair enough. That’s how disagreements work. Are you not capable of disagreeing with someone without sweeping generalizations and baseless insults?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 01:50 AM

The no wasn’t intended to be an answer to a question. It was just the start of a sentence. Your second paragraph is unhinged. Get some help.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 01:41 AM
6

No, the US draft isn’t active and hasn’t been in a while. The fact that men are still required by law to register while women are not is an example of privilege for women. However, conscription and forced military service still exists outside of the US and disproportionately impact men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 01:27 AM
3

I know forced pregnancy and abortion laws exist. That’s why I said most, not all, women who have children do so by choice. No, carrying children should not result in women’s death and I fully support better healthcare for everyone. Our maternal mortality rate is way higher than it should be, and our healthcare system needs an overhaul, but that’s a completely different conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 01:21 AM
8

Men and women both enlist in the military, that has nothing to do with the argument being made. Also, there are men and women outside of the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 01:08 AM
20

The obvious difference is that most women who get pregnant and keep the child are choosing to do so. The draft and conscription occur without male consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 12:58 AM
0

I’d say most men watch porn. The decent men are often paired off with the decent women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 02:11 AM
2

Insightful
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/06/26 07:43 PM
1

If men are telling you they are getting hit on and your response is “no you’re not” I don’t think you’re actually interested in hearing a male perspective on this. But I’ll answer anyway: most of us don’t think we peak in our 50s. You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone say this in real life. You may hear it from content creators because they are marketing to a specific demographic. No different than onlyfans creators who say they’re looking for chubby nerdy guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 04:51 PM
7

Probably because the orgasm gap is typically framed as being men’s fault and OP is challenging that.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 11:28 AM
2

I really would not enjoy my wife treating sex like a chore that she had to get through on a set schedule. Others may feel differently.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 05:55 PM
117

I think it’s losing traction with men but gaining popularity among left wing women. As you noted, a lot of men are getting tired of the hypocrisy of it all and the resulting expectations placed on them.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates12/06/26 12:19 PM
5

Why won’t older women meet the cut? What age do you consider too old?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 04:00 PM
26

The crazy part of this is that when the next election comes around and the male voter turnout for left is lackluster we’re going to have endure countless think pieces about what happened as if we haven’t been sitting here and explaining it for years.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/06/26 03:00 PM
27

Make a chore calendar and treat it like going to work. Don’t wanna clean the bathrooms? Doesn’t matter, it’s Saturday morning you have to do it. This has helped me a lot because I know otherwise I’ll put it off long enough that my wife does it herself and that’s not sustainable.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 02:58 PM
1

I didn’t read the entire article she linked but the “positive ways” listed in the results are self pleasure and sexual curiosity. Give me a fucking break lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 02:53 PM
0

Okay. Most women don’t fall into the category of porn watchers and 61 isn’t a good sample size. here we see that despite men searching for porn more than women, women are more likely to seek out violent and non consensual porn. Surely this represents a larger sample size. Also in this same article we learn that a majority of a slightly larger sample size (355 women) fantasize about forced sex with men. The original comment I responded to was suggesting that men watch dehumanizing porn and women …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 02:40 PM
1

To recap: women don’t watch dehumanizing porn like men, but even if they do it’s actually ok and better for them? Fair enough, I don’t think there’s much left to talk about.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 02:29 PM
3

Aren’t women more likely than men to watch rough and violent (but consensual) porn?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 12:28 PM

Do two things have to be near each other in viewership to be popular? As an unrelated example; Chappell Roan has about 30 million monthly listeners. Drake has about 100 million, would you agree they are both popular? Edit to add: Drew Afualo has been posting misandrist content on TikTok for years (unless she’s stopped. I have her blocked). She has 8.1 million TikTok followers. The Fresh and Fit podcast has less than that even if you combine the podcast subscribers, TikTok, and Twitter followers.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 11:46 PM
3

I never questioned why the content was rising, did I? It’s obviously reactionary. The raping and abusing certainly isn’t 100% one sided, either.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 09:15 PM
2

That’s a shit argument because man hating content is also popular and aimed at young women.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 08:54 PM
4

The content created by and for women for the sole purpose of expressing hatred for men, while less popular than Tate and co., is definitely spreading across many social media platforms. Hateful content creators, male and female alike, are responsible for the current state of affairs. Trying to assign a percentage of the blame to one side or the other isn’t really helpful, imo. Both suck, both are hurting everyone. Both should shut the fuck up.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:59 PM
8

Half of the things you listed aren’t in opposition. Someone who is submissive, easy to lead, and inexperienced in life/relationships can very easily cook, clean, and provide emotional support. Also, anyone who isn’t a parent is inexperienced in raising a child but expected to figure it out when the time comes. I’m not into traditional gender roles, but this is a bad argument against them.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 12:28 PM
1

Consider getting jacked. I don’t know many bald, muscular guys who struggle with dating regardless of their age.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 12:25 PM
29

I don’t think the left will come around any time soon. I hang out and post here because it’s nice to talk about issues that are largely ignored with people who truly care about them.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/06/26 01:03 AM
6

Why are you under the impression that men don’t get this? No one wants to be settled for.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:28 AM
123

It’s funny that you’ll hear this line from people who consistently call out jokes they deem misogynistic.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates06/06/26 07:31 PM

We’re pretty 50/50. She spends a bit more on stuff around the house like decor because she cares a lot about it. I spend a bit more on us dining / going out because it matters more to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/26 12:21 PM
4

My wife doesn’t need my money and we will never have children. I’m personally not worried about alimony or child support, but understand it’s a really big issue for a lot of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 06:48 PM
9

On the flip side, if I were legally obligated to do shit for my wife I damn sure wouldn’t get married.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:57 PM
17

I think you need to make more friends and get some perspectives on dating from people off of the internet. Meeting people for sex is easier for women, yes, but if you think the average man will die alone greatly dissatisfied with the quality of his life you need to find a way to look at things differently.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:48 PM
11

Not to mention “hundred bitches in my trailer say they ain’t got a man, and they all brought a friend” lmfao
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:40 PM
5

That literally isn’t happening. You’re just discounting all of the other examples or disagreeing with them because you don’t understand symbolism.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:33 PM
10

Many such cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:28 PM
8

Who cares whether the songs are written by black or non-black men? You asked “where is the sexual male music?”
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:21 PM
9

You’re making this weirdly much more racial than it needs to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 05:04 PM
5

I have no data to back this, but I feel like male pop music often has young (high school or younger) girls as the target demographic.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 04:36 PM
2

It is likely that someone of the women you have amazing friendships with have been horrible partners to the men in their lives. It’s not dissimilar, though obviously less extreme, to the fact that lots of women have been sexually assaulted but most guys will tell you they don’t know any sexual predators. You have no idea what your friends are doing in their relationships and cannot assume the version of events you get from them is 100% accurate.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 03:33 PM
6

Nope. The reason for her being a single mom doesn’t change anything, and I certainly don’t think she’s “used” or that her organs have been maxed out (crazy thing to say). I’m just not interested in the way that being a single parent would complicate dating. I don’t wanna deal with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 03:07 PM
15

Yeah, the kind of woman who will look down on you for not identifying as a feminist is not the kind of woman you want to date imo.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/06/26 10:43 AM
30

Not being a feminist won’t hurt your chances of dating as long as you aren’t a bigot and aren’t treating women (or anyone) poorly for no reason. You don’t have to call yourself a feminist to be a good person.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/06/26 03:15 AM
22

I’ll focus on the first part of your post and let others discuss the rest. If you want to challenge your view that “most” women would be good partners, ask some men to tell you about the women they’ve dated. If all of your friends are women, it’s unlikely they’re going to tell you “yeah my relationship ended because I was a shitty partner”
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 02:31 AM
5

Yeah I mean, if you don’t like trying new things or making new friends then dating will be difficult.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 05:35 PM

I’d say it became more of a positive the older I got. Either way, the friends were there to stay so when someone didn’t like it, it usually let me know that things weren’t going to work out.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 04:46 PM

I have a ton of female friends. Some women that I’ve dated have really, really hated it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 04:23 PM

I think your guy friend is wrong. It’s really not coming for guys to break up with a woman who checks all their boxes then settle with the next woman that comes along.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 12:32 AM

The biggest flaw in your argument is that therapy, household chores, and communicating with the woman you chose to marry are not a waste of time, even if things don’t go the way you want them to.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 01:28 PM
5

No it’s not sarcasm. I think anyone who frequently posts “all men are trash” or “all men cheat” is a loser. Same way I think guys who say “all women are gold diggers” are losers. Heterosexual relationships are not inherently empty because some people had bad experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 04:20 PM
7

The straight women making those posts are losers. Don’t let them convince you that het. relationships are all miserable.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 11:53 AM
3

Yeah before the internet there was no hatred.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 02:04 AM
11

Who decides where that income cutoff is? Can two people who earn 100k get married? 250k? Where do you draw the line?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 06:18 PM
7

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, really. Getting rich so you can bang other rich people seems reasonable to me no matter which direction it goes.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 06:11 PM
5

That happens so much in this subreddit. Men report an issue and women rush in to say “well I’ve never seen this so….”
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 06:04 PM
1

There are plenty of women who are still looking for financial providers. Is it the majority? No idea, probably not. But it’s enough that it’s a little dismissive imo to call it propaganda when it’s pointed out.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 05:53 PM
3

Yeah to this point I think there are a lot of women online (I really haven’t encountered much of this in the real world), whose idea of feminism is basically “men suck but should do really nice things for me”. My only hope is that most of the people posting things like that will eventually grow out of that mindset as they mature but… I guess we’ll see.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/05/26 03:37 PM
1

I’m not mad at all. It read to me like more of a deflection than a concession when you said men blame women for everything, so I asked for clarification.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 03:29 PM
1

You’re moving the goal posts here. Your first comment said misandry is perpetrated by men, not women. But you acknowledge that it is a patriarchal idea and that patriarchy is held up by BOTH men and women. Those two statements can’t coexist.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 02:51 PM
5

So because you don’t experience it firsthand it doesn’t exist?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 02:35 PM
2

So did you only bring that point up so you wouldn’t have to acknowledge that your initial point in this thread was wrong?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 01:50 PM
2

Nowhere in the post does OP blame women. They just say misandry exists and give one example involving women.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 11:29 AM
37

Because the women in these arguments just want to blame men. Saying that everything is patriarchy is an easy way to say that no matter what someone experiences, men did it.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/05/26 10:54 AM
8

As long as your advance on this long time friend is respectful and you take no for an answer, it definitely is not harassment.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 01:31 AM
1

There’s a big misconception around this as well. I’m a very muscular person, probably big enough that some women find it unattractive. Yes, most of the attention I get for being this size comes from men, BUT the part that gets ignored is that the type of women I’m interested in are specifically looking for big guys. I don’t give a shit what the women I’m not into are looking for lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 04:28 PM
6

Really can’t imagine it being anything else. No shot these are someone’s genuine beliefs.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 03:48 PM
43

Surrounding yourself with people who do not think like this is really the best option. I’m fortunate that I have a diverse friend group of men and women who do not blame each other for all of their problems. I feel bad for young men who don’t have good relationships with women IRL and are having their entire worldview shaped by this kind of bullshit.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/05/26 02:45 PM
8

When it comes to feminist social media content, the same women who downplay the role of a provider or a father in the home will call it “unpaid emotional labor” when a wife reminds her husband to take the trash out. It’s so blatantly one sided that I feel crazy when other people don’t notice.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/05/26 11:54 AM
2

Okay so it’s not enough for men to enjoy art created by women, we need to constantly walk around singing their praises?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 11:52 AM
17

This seems like an unreasonably skewed view of the situation. Sure there are men who don’t care about anything other than sex, but there are also plenty of men who have meaningful friendships with women, and appreciate their romantic partners for more than their looks. Justifying feminism in its current form by only focusing on the former doesn’t quite seem reasonable to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 02:47 AM

Patriarchy and misogyny aren’t synonymous. There can be aspects of a patriarchal society that are disproportionately harmful to men. I’m not trying to argue that patriarchy doesn’t exist or that misogyny isn’t common, so I’m not sure why our viewpoints can’t coexist.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 08:45 PM

Do you consider male only conscription to be a sexist practice?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 08:42 PM

This is bullshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 08:19 PM
7

Feminists also won’t hear a bunch of men shouting insults and think “wow we sure were wrong!” Also, they either don’t think misandry is real or are proud to hate men so calling them a misandrist helps no one.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 08:00 PM
24

Yeah I’m not sure how the women of the left expect their rhetoric to resonate with impressionable male voters. Obviously people should be allowed to voice their grievances and advocate for equality, but the rage bait is very clearly pushing young men to the right.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/05/26 07:42 PM
26

It’s a weird complex that has no appropriate reaction. They’ll label you weak if you say they are stronger and insecure or gay if you say they are weaker. It’s content that only other misandrists could enjoy, I suppose.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/05/26 06:36 PM
20

I try my best to block the creators who post stuff like this, but for every one I block it seems two more pop up.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/05/26 06:35 PM

Well then you can understand that you don’t need a “woman coded” hobby to meet women?

I’m not sure what you mean by this
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:29 AM

Even if you dislike the training style (valid), CrossFit is a really easy way to meet women. The gym, in general, is a really great way especially if you frequent smaller, more specialized gyms instead of 24-Hour Fitness chains.

There are a ton of women on dating apps that are wasting their time and yours.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 02:53 AM

What makes it bad advice? Hobbies are generally a good way to meet people, some of those people will be women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:24 AM

Do you think apps are a better option than pursuing hobbies that involve a decent amount of socializing, assuming both approaches involve the guy getting in good shape and dressing better? I’ve been out of the game for a few years but did not enjoy the apps much when I was on them and had better luck meeting people in person or after having already connected on social media through mutual friends or hobbies.

Most men who are paying for OF aren’t spending millions. If a guy wants to see a woman naked and has 20 dollars to spare, it’s pretty simple to see how OF works out.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 12:52 PM

Perhaps your experience is not universal?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 10:03 PM

My point is that just like men, the woman who is a 4 has an opportunity to improve her looks if she wants a quality man.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 06:13 PM
7

Is there something stopping women from getting in better shape? People tell men to hit the gym and built their bodies, women can do the same. Lots of guys like women with nice asses, that can be trained.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 05:49 PM

Some started dating their now husbands in their mid-late twenties, most started in their early thirties. I know there are a lot of men who are obsessed with young and beautiful (I’m leaving slim out because women in their 30s still have control of their weight), but I think it’s pretty disingenuous for OP suggest that all men would rather date an 18 year old bitch than a kind, 30 year old woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 05:31 PM
2

Okay, I know plenty of women in their 30s who are happily married.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 05:02 PM

I know plenty of women over 30 who have absolutely no trouble dating at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 04:24 PM

I wish that some of these misandrists could understand that they aren’t empowering women or being revolutionary by “hating” men, they’re just riding another popular trend.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/05/26 01:34 PM
3

How is this debatable? This is an entirely subjective opinion based on your observations of a presumably very small sample size.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 01:27 PM
1

Would you also call it manipulation if initially she says she likes anal and has done it before, but as time goes on she tells you she never really liked it that much and doesn’t want to do it anymore?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 12:12 PM

Yeah, a lot of emotional abuse that comes from women is largely unaddressed by people in that space. Another reason why they shouldn’t be taken seriously at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:18 PM
1

Yeah for sure. I think there’s a bunch of nuance to the distinction between who people will fuck, will date, or will fuck secretly. I just don’t think it’s reasonable to say that most straight men fall into any of those categories with trans women, despite knowing that some do.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:48 PM
3

I hear you, but I don’t think online attention means much. There are plenty of overweight or obese women who get a ton of attention online despite it being pretty agreed upon that most men don’t want to date obese women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:18 PM
1

Yes, I’m aware that there are some men who fetishize trans women but wouldn’t date them. That’s shitty for a million reasons, but I don’t think it’s in opposition to me saying that most straight men who don’t want to date trans women just don’t want a partner with a dick.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:16 PM
3

That is definitely not true in my experience, but if it’s yours I guess I can’t argue it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:09 PM
8

You say in your post that most men don’t want to date trans women because they don’t want to limit their dating pool. I think most of the straight men who say they don’t want to date trans women aren’t thinking that far ahead, and most of them just don’t want a partner who has / had a dick.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 03:37 PM

The type of woman who will shame you for having reasonable preferences is NOT the kind of woman you want in your life.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 10:44 PM

I just think it looks cool and she’s into it. Lots of women aren’t, which is also obviously okay. And yes, I definitely would.

Sure. I love giving facials.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:29 PM

If women are flaking a majority of the time it’s not because they are playing hard to get, it’s because they do not want you.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 01:24 PM

It’s not worth correcting people who are hellbent on blaming men for everything. They will never change their minds.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates23/05/26 03:13 AM

I’ve seen a few people in this thread say that men have lost the ability to confide in their friends. When did this happen?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 04:36 PM
23

You’re comparing apples to bombs here man. Men struggle to date in that they have a difficult time meeting women who are interested in dating. That cannot be compared to meeting someone and finding out weeks or months later that they’re abusive. Now, if these women are dating known abusers then that’s a different story.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 12:32 AM
5

I’m assuming you’re seeing a lot of the bare minimum stuff on social media? If so, yeah I’m with ya. Sick of it, and a while back I’ve started blocking any creator I come across that posts that type of content. It’s slowly bringing my algorithms back to “normal”
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 08:56 PM

Your analogies are missing the point that one of the best ways to get better at basketball is to play the game. It’s the basis of a LOT of practices at various levels.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 08:34 PM
5

I don’t think making the first move is the equivalent to wanting fresh baked cookies or clothing repair. That said, yeah men should avoid women with unrealistic expectations. It’s a recipe for disaster.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 07:36 PM
3

I’m assuming you’re talking about the expectation that some women have for men to be providers starting on day 1? If so, I think we’re misunderstanding each other a bit because those women should be avoided like the plague.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 06:51 PM

I’m still waiting for an explanation of how my comment implies that women are wonderful. Of course dating is contextual and dependent on who you happen to encounter. I said in another comment further down in this thread that while self improvement doesn’t guarantee the desired outcome, it can drastically improve one’s chances. I am disagreeing with your idea that there’s “no such thing” as a skill issue. Plenty of people, men and women, are doing something wrong when it comes to dating that can/…

How exactly am I giving women too much credit here?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 05:09 PM

Lmfao alright man
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:57 PM
7

In the nicest way possible this all sounds like an incredible cope.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:53 PM
4

I think your problem is that you’re looking at the situation a little too black and white. It’s not exactly “if you do XYZ you’ll be guaranteed a relationship”, it’s that if you do those things you will significantly improve your chances. Sure there’s a little bit of luck involved but to say it’s 100% luck would be implying that a short, fat, bald, homeless guy has the same dating chances as a 6’, jacked millionaire. You’d have to be delusional to think that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:49 PM
7

No, I also think men should aiming to meet decent women. If it just about finding “a woman” there would be very little need for self improvement. Finding a socially awkward fat woman with very few options isn’t what I assumed this conversation was about.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:36 PM
5

There are definitely a LOT of women who enjoy and appreciate the male body.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:26 PM
6

Hey look, an area for improvement.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:19 PM
9

If you are a rich, charismatic, 10/10 attractive man I can assure you that you will not have any issues finding a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:09 PM
7

I don’t think it’s a uniquely male problem at all. I hear plenty of women complain on social media that they cannot find a decent guy. I think that’s also a skill issue fixed with some self improvement and reflection.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:07 PM
3

I think if he improves all of those things and still can’t get a date, there is probably some reason that he is missing. Is he being realistic with the women he chooses to approach? If he’s a 5 he’s not going to have an easy time self improving his way to dating a bunch of models.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 04:00 PM
4

Lots of people get into relationships. I know many guys who are short, broke, bald, fat, etc who are in happy relationships. I don’t have any real data to support my claim, so obviously take it with a grain of salt, but I think with a reasonable amount of self improvement with a heavy emphasis on presentation and social skills, most guys can have some success in the dating world. Will EVERY guy find the perfect love of his life and get married? Probably not. But I really do think if you go your …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 03:58 PM
19

No, dating isn’t a perfectly fair meritocracy. Yes, it’s likely to be a skill issue if you are somehow unable to improve yourself enough to ever meet a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 03:44 PM
16

I find that you can’t even google search for misandry without it showing you results about misogyny. Anti male content is so widespread in both mild and extreme forms, but it seems like very few people want to address it or even acknowledge the reality of it.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/05/26 11:35 AM
7

Option A for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 11:49 PM

I think it’s a huge reach to say that those are the best men. They are the most reactionary, but plenty of men with social skills are still able to meet women.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 09:43 PM
3

So are the women who openly say “I hate men” just not to be taken at face value?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 05:25 PM
8

A lot of those things vary drastically based on intent. Your girl posting a bikini selfie with her tits out is different than posting something mundane about her life on social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 10:56 PM

Depends on the frequency. If it was an occasional thing I wouldn’t care at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 06:39 PM
1

I think very little would change.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 02:36 PM

Along with this, I think it’s probably a good idea for men who want to prioritize men’s issues to stop arguing or engaging with anyone (men or women) who seek to shift the conversation. If you make a post about an issue impacting men and someone wants to say “well women deal with xyz” just delete their comment or ignore it depending on the platform you’re on.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 02:15 PM

Do you think every heterosexual relationship is destined to end with the man cheating and leaving? If you feel that way, just don’t date. Also even if a man says he thinks 20 year olds are the most attractive, that doesn’t mean he thinks 35 year olds are ugly or that he is incapable of seeing beauty in an aging woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 11:54 AM
2

Would depend entirely on how strong my desire for anal was.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 11:09 PM
3

Did you want to be dominated? In my case, the thing she had done in the past but didn’t want to do with me was something I enjoyed a lot which is probably what made it a bigger deal.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 05:19 PM
12

Yeah, I don’t hold it against her and I’m glad we were able to go our separate ways early enough, but it certainly wasn’t a pleasant thing to hear.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 01:09 AM
21

No, of course not lol. That was the end of the relationship. We’d been together for about 3 months.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 01:04 AM
27

I’ve had it happen once before. She phrased it like “I enjoy xyz, but don’t see you filling that role for me sexually”.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 12:03 AM
3

How exactly do you suggest men “sweeten the deal”?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 04:29 PM
1

100% agree. If she doesn’t want to do the things you want, just leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 02:29 PM

I don’t think the men who use words like smashed or cracked actually hate women. I also don’t know how many men you’re meeting in real life that call women “hoes who belong to the streets” AFTER sleeping with them. That’s usually said about women they would not want to sleep with. As for your last paragraph, there’s some amount of categorization between “hookup material” and “wife material” going on there. Women do the same thing with men, possibly for different reasons idk.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/26 12:21 PM

I do not think supporting feminism and being able to approach women are in opposition. Also, you can care about women’s issues and not spend time debating with feminists on the internet. I’m not sure why you think men who care about women’s causes are being lectured all day.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/26 10:58 PM
3

How much time are you spending talking to these men? If you’re just reading posts on social media, it’s pretty unlikely that anyone will be talking about the less glamorous parts of parenthood before they get there. Lots of people romanticize their futures and tend to spend most of their energy thinking of the positives, this does not prove that they are unprepared for the negatives. Also, how much do you really know about the non-romantic interpersonal relationships of these men? Regardless, ad…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/26 12:35 PM

I imagine they have little trouble finding relationships if they are attractive, but struggle to keep them. That behavior is exhausting to deal with and as people get older they have less patience for stuff like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/26 04:32 PM

I’m engaged, so I guess I can speak on this. Wife material to me meant that she was someone whose company I preferred to alone time, whose values and plans for the future aligned with mine, who had the ability to communicate particularly during disagreements or conflict, and with whom I shared some mutual hobbies and interests. Plenty of men want relationships, but women really should only care about being wife material if they are interested in marriage. Otherwise, who gives a shit what guys wa…

No, I’d imagine more of a relatively normal, well adjusted guy would be in the middle of the two extremes.

The title literally says “men who are simps AND treat women with kindness”.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/26 04:52 PM

I don’t think the logic is contradicting. There’s an obvious middle ground between being a misogynistic asshole and a simp.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/26 04:38 PM
5

I agree with you, generally, that we should all learn to stop internalizing complaints from people we don’t know that don’t apply to us or the people around us, but do you really think the generalizations from women are accidental?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/26 04:34 PM
6

I think some men are a little defensive on social media at the moment because content about how horrible men are is everywhere. It gets a little old, as I’m sure women are familiar with. Could lead to some folks not handling constructive criticism very well
