Women have actually been trending towards paying more for car insurance. I know at least California banned using gender a while back because women were paying more than men.

I don't know about a comparison but look at the Ghomeshi case and the law change afterwards. Dude was able to prove he didn't rape anyone because the accuser's texts and emails. So Canada made it so texts and emails wont be admissible.
